Question of the Day
No rules for me either. Normally I get books from the library. Including interlibrary loans and digital sources. As for buying books, I am working on reading the books I have before buying more. But I am not doing a very good job of it.
Poor writing is usually the biggest cause. If the story bores me, I'll DNF it sometimes. There are some books I can push my way through.
The book needs to have something in it that makes me want to see what happens next. Also, it helps if I care and connect to the characters.
Only a little bit organized. Some by theme/genre. Some by to be read next. And the library books have their own place by the door.
I have a "read" and "to be read" shelf. They are both organized by author last name.Library books are on a shelf in my living room.

I organize mine basically the same way.

Nowadays, I donate to the library. There was a time when I sold books on Amazon, but so many people started doing that, so it wasn't worth it anymore.
I do a little of everything—keep them, give them away to friends if they want them, donate them, and some I'll take to HPB.
I keep most of my books. I do send to a friend as well when I think she might like a book. And I will also donate to LFL.

Ohhh, keep me in mind if you ever want to re-home some books =)

The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish. There are multiple female protagonists in this one. It's seriously one of the best books I've ever read.
Krystyna wrote: "80. What is your favorite book with a male protagonist?"Many great ones, but I will go with the book I just finished. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Also loved the supporting characters.
Krystyna wrote: "81. What is your favorite book with a female protagonist?"Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
82. What is a book you love that has a terrible trope? (Love triangle, insta-love, forced diversity, the perfect guy/girl, villains without motives, etc)
83. What is your favorite book you’ve read that is set in a different time period before you were born?
The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish. *It's not all set before I was born, but the majority of it is, so I count it.
If I had to pick one where it is all set before I was born - Love and Ruin by Paula McLain
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.I honestly don't even know if I'll ever be able to read/comprehend the book. It's just so intriguing to me.
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks. I had read so many reviews that said watch the movie skip the book, so I put off reading this book for a long time. I ended up loving the book. .....The movie was enjoyable, but the book is where the real story is.
It by Stephen King, I didn't get very far and gave up. Some Stephen King I love (The Stand) and some I can't even read.
I never thought I would say it, but now ebook is my favorite format. I like all the conveniences that come with ebooks.
My parents. Both were readers. My Dad was the biggest reader, but my Mom was the one who always took us to the library.
89. What is your favorite book format?Physical. (I do like a good audio book though)
90. What/who got you into reading?
I moved to Kentucky at 19, started working a new job where I could listen to audio books, and there my love for books began.
91. What was your first favorite book?
I don't actually remember a favorite from when I was little.
My first favorite in high school was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

I think that's a great idea and I need to try to implement something similar for myself.
