Question of the Day

i have a lot of answers for this lol so i'll just go with the most recent. jade daniels from the indian lake trilogy is a new favorite character of mine. she's just really fun to be in the mind of.

I think the only new release I've read this year is The Winter Soldier by Mackenzie Lee. It was good, I wouldn't consider it a favorite though.

the only new release i've read is the spite house by johnny compton, and i didn't love it. i only gave it 3 stars.
QOTD: What is something that you'd like to do this Spring? Do you have any fun items on your Spring bucket list?

QOTD: What kind of music do you enjoy listening to? Do you have a favorite genre? Do you use a music service, radio, vinyl, CDs, etc.?

I listen to alternative rock (Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers, (old) Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures, etc.) It's probably my favorite genre lol.
I usually just listen to Apple Music.

i like all different kinds of music and i like to switch it up or i get bored but i always default back to alternative rock. & i pretty much only use spotify.

I listen to a lot of country from all decades, and like 70's singer/songwriter, like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt. Those are my two favorites. And I use Apple Music mostly.

I'd like to spend more time outside, maybe plant a small, manageable garden.
QOTD: Are there any books that you love so much that you own multiple copies or different editions?

No. This something that never even crossed my mind.

There are some I'd like to own multiple copies of but I don't, because I feel it's impractical, unless someone gifts me them and I end up having multiples that way. I have multiple copies of Anne Of Green Gables that way lol

no, though i would if i found pretty editions of my favorites. i do own where the red fern grows twice but i don't remember why and i haven't read it since i was 10 so i wouldn't consider it a book i love lol

LOTR/The Hobbit is the series I have the most editions of.

i mostly read alone, but i do enjoy reading books along with other people every now and then

I rarely have the same interests in books as my friends, so I typically read alone. There is an occasional buddy read though.

the priory of the orange tree by samantha shannon. i went into it with the mindset that i don't really like the fantasy genre and finished it realizing i wanna read more fantasy

Lark Ascending by Silas House. I had read a different book by this author that I did not like. So, I was really hesitant to read another. But it turned out that I absolutely loved Lark Ascending.

I prefer reading alone. I typically don't have the same book interest as my friends.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

Believe it or not, The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi. I wasn't sure about it even while reading, but it quickly became a book I'll never forget.
QOTD: Out of the books you've read so far, which one has the most beautiful writing? Feel free to share a quote or passage from the book with everyone.

idk if it's the most beautiful but it's the one that immediately comes to mind: on earth we're briefly gorgeous by ocean vuong. i always love reading novels from people who're usually known for their poetry. i really wanna re-read it soon now that i have my own copy i can write in because there's so many good passages in there.

The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish.
"Never underestimate the passion of a lonely mind."

just whatever i'd be doing any other time except i do it outside instead lol

I like taking Dot for a walk in the park (as stressful as that is.)
I'll sit outside and read, or I'll sit inside and open the windows.

Learn a foreign language. I tried to do this several times, but I am absolutely horrible at it.

painting. i'm really bad at it, but i don't have the patience to practice to get better lol

I think I'd have to say Anne Shirley. She was so unique and vivacious for the time period she was set in. She attacked everything with so much passion and optimism, and I love her vivid imagination. To come from such terrible circumstances as hers and to still have the strength of character to soldier on and rise to her circumstances has always endeared her to me.
