Treasure Island has the genre 'children's' on the book's main page. All books with children's on the main page must be accompanied by the AR Bookfinder data as spelled out in the Rules of the Challenge: Effective Fall 2014. Please review the rules and then repost, including the required information.

You've already claimed task 10.8 (with the same book) in post 318. So I still have you at 25 total points.

Marie Claude (mariecg2001) Hi! I would like to check if glasses would do for the "small and inanimate on the cover - defined as something that can fit completely in the palm of one hand" option of 25.6 This is Home Truly.

The book I was thinking about is The Fleet Street Murders (Charles Lenox Mysteries, #3) by Charles Finch

You'd have to ask that on the task specific thread. You can find that here.

Jayme Pendergraft | 762 comments Hi Ladies,

I'm not sure where else to post this, so I'm putting it here. Please keep me on the moderator's pets list for now :)

I was checking the reader board and my name is not listed there. It's under Goodreads authors but no where else. Can you help? Through post 1700, I should have 85 points.

Thanks!

If you are claiming a BB ticket and you used an ebook or an audiobook you must include a link to the paper edition used to establish length.
See The Rules #7 for how to determine page numbers

Please repost indicating that you would like to claim tickets at the top of your post. Reposts must be complete so include book links and any necessary information (you can click edit and copy your post including the html code book links- just copying a post does not copy the links)

Thanks for letting me know, Jayme! You're on the spreadsheet with the correct number of points, but a formula SNAFU was preventing you from showing up. I've fixed it so your points should show up in the next update. Sorry about that!

If you look at the top of the Readerboard, it will always tell you which posts I've gone through. Right now, it says READERBOARD (through post 1700). That means I've gotten as far as post 1700.

Through 1700, I have the following tasks recorded for you:
5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5
10.3, 10.4, 10.7, 10.9, 10.10
15.5, 15.9
20.1, 20.2, 20.4, 20.5, 20.9
25.3, 25.5, 25.6, 25.7
30.1, 30.2, 30.3

For a total of 390 points. If you have posted tasks after post 1700, I haven't gotten to those tasks, yet.

message 361: by Kristina Simon (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Steph D - post 1704

Task 30.2 is a two book task (all the 20-, 25-, and 30-point tasks are two book tasks). Two book tasks should only be claimed after both books have been read. Please repost this task after you finish the second book.

message 362: by Kristina Simon (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Steph D - post 1714

Task 15.9 requires that you include the cover when you post. You can find out how to do this here: Add book/author/cover. Please repost this task (make a NEW post in the completed task thread) including the cover. Please DO NOT edit or delete post 1714.

Task 20.1, option B requires that you state the country where you live as well as the country where the book takes place. Please repost this task (make a NEW post in the completed task thread) including the missing information. Please DO NOT edit or delete post 1736.

No need to repost the other task in this post. The points for that task have already been recorded.

We do not go backward in the completed task thread to pick up points. Please make a NEW post in the completed task thread including your Readerboard name at the TOP of you post and all the required information for the tasks you wish to claim.

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Amy O - post 1750

I realize that Waiting for Birdy: A Year of Frantic Tedium, Neurotic Angst, and the Wild Magic of Growing a Family is a parenting book and not a children's book. However, it does have the genre "children's" on its main page. As the Rules of the Challenge stand right now, the only task this book will work for is task 5.10.

message 367: by Kristina Simon (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments CYNBAXTER - post 1756

Just FYI - Murder on the Home Front: A True Story of Morgues, Murderers, and Mysteries During the London Blitz doesn't exactly fit option 2 of task 25.4. Since your first book was set in the US (North America), a book for option 2 would need to be set in a South American country to conform to the continent pairs the task creator has set up.

The good news is, book:Murder on the Home Front: A True Story of Morgues, Murderers, and Mysteries During the London Blitz|18296161] DOES fit option 3, since the opposite of fiction has been set up to be a biography, autobiography, memoir and this book has Autobiography > Memoir on its main page.

No need to do anything. I just didn't want anyone else to be confused.

As per calculation through post 1700;
5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5 =20
10.3, 10.4, 10.7, 10.9, 10.10 =50
15.5, 15.9 =30
20.1, 20.2, 20.4, 20.5, 20.9 =100
25.3, 25.5, 25.6, 25.7 =100
30.1, 30.2, 30.3 =120

total =420

total should be 420, not 390.

The error is in your last line of addition. 30+30+30=90
not 120

So 390 is correct.

Morning. I seem to be adrift on points from the Readerboard - not sure if it just hasn't been updated , or if something's got missed. But by my count I should be on 85, not 65. I did check in the "completed tasks" and they're all there, and I don't think I have any outstanding problems. I reckon I've completed: 5.3, 15.4, 10.4, 15.9, 10.3, 5.10, 5.7, and 20.2.

Always check through this thread first to see if there are any problems with your posts. Your 1st post, post 1031, is mentioned in message 226 of this thread.

Your second post is post 1805 in the completed task thread. If you look at the top of the Readerboard, it will always tell you though what post number it is updated through. Right now, it says READERBOARD (through post 1800) so your post 1805 will not have been added in, yet.

This is all spelled out in message 1 of this thread.

Aravind Adiga is not a Goodreads Author. Goodreads Authors will have "(Goodreads Author)" after the author's name on a book page, "Goodreads Author" on the top right of an author's profile page or will be marked with an asterisk after the author's name on your bookshelves.
