1. Include your Readerboard name at the TOP of your post.
(Not required if your Readerboard name is the same as the name that appears in the shaded area above your posts.)
2. Include Task # and a short (1-5 word) Task Description.
3. To claim a task in Completed Tasks, the book you use MUST exist on Goodreads. Instructions on manually adding a book to the Goodreads database can be found in post 9 of Add a book instructions. You MUST include a link to the book edition you read and the link must be included along with the specific task posting information. If a task requires details about an author, the author link must be included. For instructions on adding a link, see post 1 of Add book/author/cover Instructions in General Help.
Note: If no link, then NO points, NO Big Book tickets, NO Goodreads Author tickets.
If the task involves a picture on the cover of the book, you MUST include the cover itself in your post.
Note: If no cover, then NO points, NO Big Book tickets, NO Goodreads Author tickets.
4. Include a brief explanation to clarify how your book(s) fit the task if it is not obvious.
5. Task creators should update posts 2 and/or 3 in their Help Threads with approved books, but the responsibility for that pre-approval information lies with the poster. The moderators will not search the help threads to look for pre-approvals. If you had a book pre-approved, including a link to the Help Thread approval may help keep you out of the Questions/Problems thread.
6. Newly completed tasks must be listed clearly and separately - do not include them in a list with previously completed tasks or partially completed tasks.
(If you want to include this extra information, list the newly completed tasks separately at the TOP of your post, and indicate clearly that they are the new ones.)
7. If your book has the genre "childrens" or "kids" on its main page, it must meet the criteria specified in the Rules of the Challenge. All AR Bookfinder information MUST be posted when the book is claimed for points or no points will be awarded (You can copy the AR BookFinder ratings)
ex. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
IL: MG - BL: 7.3 - AR Pts: 17.0
8. If you want to claim a Goodreads Author or a Big Books ticket, you must specifically say so in your post - merely including a tally at the beginning or end of your post is not sufficient. Make sure to note "Goodreads Author," "GR author," or "GRA" or "Big Books ticket" or "BB ticket" in your post. The BB or GRA claim must be made with the specific book posting - a list at the end or beginning of the post is not sufficient.
If you are claiming a GR author, you must include the name of the author in your post along with the book posting for the task.
If you are claiming a BB ticket, you must include the number of pages in the book. Be sure that the link you provide goes to the edition you actually read, with the correct number of pages. If you used an ebook or an audiobook, include a link to the paper edition used to establish length.
9. If you choose to read a book contained in an "omnibus" edition, or a play in a collection (see Rule 11 in the Rules of the Challenge), you must identify this in your post.
If you do choose to read an element isolated from an aggregate work, you MUST include a link to the book that you read AND provide a link to a separately published work that relates to the isolated title. The use of particular title words, cover colors, or cover images to fulfill tasks applies to the actual book that you read.
10. If your book is an ebook with no print version, you must have it approved for length before posting in the ebook page verification thread: Ebook page verification in General Help.
Your post must include the line number of the approval in the ebook spreadsheet or a link to the post in which the ebook was approved for length.
11. If the task requires that a particular genre be found on the book's main page, check that the genre is there at the time you post. If it is, nothing more is required. If it is not, but you had the genre pre-noted in the help thread or the genre verification thread, include a link to the approval post in your completed task posting.
12. It's fine to include more than one newly completed task in a post. If you do include more than one task, the tasks must be listed in numerical order, lowest to highest.
13. While it is OK to shift books between tasks during a challenge, you must make it clear from which tasks books are being removed and to which tasks they are being added. If you are replacing a book in a 2 book task, you must repost that task completely, including both books for verification purposes.
14. NEVER delete a post from the Completed Tasks thread.
(You can edit the post to replace all the text with “***DELETED***” but leave the post in the thread so the other post numbers do not shift.)
Requirements for Reposts
1. All posts are validated by the Moderators.
Any questions or problems with a Completed Task will be posted in the "Completed Tasks Posts with ?s / Problems" thread and need to be addressed.
No points will be awarded until the issues are resolved and none of the data for the problem task will be recorded by the moderators.
2. Reposts must include Readerboard name at the top, Task #, Task Title (or short Description), AND a link to the book.
3. Reposts must include all task requirements including previously posted requirements as well as the missing requirements.
4. Reposts must include only the task(s) that had problems.
Do NOT include all the other tasks from your original post.
5. Include Task # and book link in reposts to claim Goodreads Author or Big Book tickets omitted in original posts. Indicate in your post that this is a repost to claim a GRA or BB ticket, so that it is clear that this is not a new task posting.
