I really need to stop browsing everyone else's picks, Rebecca, but I saw your recommendation for The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa and had to comment! I LOVED her Iron Fey series and am now super pumped to add this one to my list!

Stop it, Eyes!! Stop looking!!! LOL

LOL now is the time I have to be patient. I want to throw out what I am trying to finish for April and start on May.

These are great picks Suzanne! It will help me get some old books off my kindle, add some read books to other challenges and read some new to me books.

Shhhhhhh.....🤫 don’t tell but I have never read J.D. Robb 🤭 I’ve read her other books and liked them but when she started under the pseudonym I was in a strictly historical phase and then just never picked one up. On that note, that is the first book I will read off the list, better late then never as they say.

Thanks again Suzanne
May you have a happy, healthy, wonderful reading May!
Also
May the Force (fourth) be with you!

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 286 comments Hi Suzanne

As promised I read Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb first, really enjoyed it and sorry I wasted all these years not reading her romantic suspense. Then another new author to me Kristan Higgins with Fools Rush In by Kristan Higgins . I like her writing but the main character was annoying. I am willing to try another book because I liked the support characters.

More to read! 🌷Enjoy the rest of May!

Courtney | 328 comments Hey Michaelle!!!!

Alright! I think I'm doing pretty good this month! So far, I've finished

1. One Night Charmer (Starts off slow, but takes off suddenly and without warning. The love scenes absolutely make me want to melt, I will definitely go back and reread them. And there are so many dynamics at play in this relationship. I like the way the way the author takes time to examine the duality within the relationship and within themselves. A surprisingly good read!)

2. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (This book was so relatable and enjoyable with various twists and turns that kept the story moving. I really liked it! My fav so far!)

3. The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (The Dynamic between Monty and Percy was so lovable. Couldn't fully get into the grandness of the plot, but still I rather liked this one!)

and

4. Splendid (This is my first time reading a Julia Quinn book. Didn't like it as much as I wanted. Though I enjoyed her style, it was a bit meandering. Fortunately, I'm told this is one of her earlier works and she gets better. I look forward to reading more!)

1 One Night Charmer (Copper Ridge, #4) by Maisey Yates 2 Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1) by Becky Albertalli 3 The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Montague Siblings, #1) by Mackenzi Lee 4 Splendid (The Splendid Trilogy, #1) by Julia Quinn

I plan to finish:

5 The Proving,6 Perversion, 7 Muse and 8 Wintersong by the end of the week.

5 The Proving by Beverly Lewis 6 Perversion (Perversion Trilogy, #1) by T.M. Frazier 7 Muse by Alexa Riley 8 Wintersong (Wintersong, #1) by S. Jae-Jones

I have finished Red Velvet and Absinthe Red Velvet and Absinthe by Mitzi Szereto only 2 stars I'm not sure how I finished it.

message 115: by Courtney (last edited May 16, 2019 06:12AM) (new)

Courtney | 328 comments As I said earlier, I finished

1 The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue, 2Splendid,3 Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, and 4One Night Charmer

As promised, I finished,

5 Muse (My first Alexa Riley book. Like Splendid, I didn't really feel this book, but I saw potential in certain elements and will be reading some more Alexa in the future.)

6. The Proving(Didn't really feel this one either. Maybe Amish fiction isn't my thing. But I'd give it another try.)

7. Perversion(OMG OMG OMG!!!! I walked into this story a man, I walked out Grim's b**** in stiletto heels and a French maid uniform ready to serve! Every time I tried to give this book only four stars, there would be a love scene and Grim would force a fifth star out of me. Hell, give him seven. Twelve! A million for all I care. I'm SOOO glad I finally got around to starting this series! Each book should come with its own fan)

8. Wintersong(I just started this book, but I hope to finish by Saturday [I said by the end of the week and the week isn't up yet ;) ] . So far, I've only read one chapter, but I can tell I am going to love the characters!]

Hopefully, this weekend, I can finish

9 Captive Prince and 10 Box of Frogs

And then I can start on 11 Red, White & Royal Blue, 12 Governor, 13 Unmasked by the Marquess, and 14 Six of Crows

1 The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Montague Siblings, #1) by Mackenzi Lee, 2Splendid (The Splendid Trilogy, #1) by Julia Quinn,3 Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1) by Becky Albertalli, 4One Night Charmer (Copper Ridge, #4) by Maisey Yates, 5 Muse by Alexa Riley, 6. The Proving by Beverly Lewis, 7. Perversion (Perversion Trilogy, #1) by T.M. Frazier, 8. Wintersong (Wintersong, #1) by S. Jae-Jones,9 Captive Prince (Captive Prince, #1) by C.S. Pacat, 10 Box of Frogs (The Fractured Faery, #1) by Helen Harper, 11 Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, 12 Governor (Governor Trilogy, #1) by Lesli Richardson, 13 Unmasked by the Marquess (Regency Imposters, #1) by Cat Sebastian, 14 Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Finally finished my first book for May on Friday.. the 17th.... that's pathetic.... *sigh*
Finished The King's Man (Welsh Blades #1) by Elizabeth Kingston - It shames me to admit how long it took me to finish this delicious read! This is during Edward I's reign and a different time period I had yet to read. Great characters, interesting story and good conclusion - though TBH I was starting to sweat there for a bit that the story wouldn't wrap up before the book ended! But it ended very nicely!

Of course there are many more on your list for me that I want to read - there just isn't enough month left for all of them!!
Thanks again for such good picks!

Jamie Campbell (jamie_rc1977) Nancy H💖💖 What I've done so far! Thanks for some great picks. I got some new authors to add to my favorites🌸🌸

Star Wars/A New Hope:
Broken Hill High (The Broken Hill High Series #1) by Sheridan Anne - Sheridan Anne 5/22 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book was awesome. I read mixed reviews about this book. I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews. I loved it.
It was also a new author for me, But now I'm going to be following her for new releases.

Attack of the Clones:
Simple Need (Simple Need, #1) by Lissa Matthews - Lissa Matthews 5/1 ⭐⭐⭐ Nancy H Thanks for the new author. I actually loved this book, it was a nice short and sexy read.

Revenge of the Sith:
The Heart of Falcon Ridge (The McLendon Family Saga, #1) by D.L. Roan - D.L. Roan 5/20 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another great new author to follow

Courtney | 328 comments So, in addition to finishing:

1 The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue, 2Splendid,3 Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, and 4One Night Charmer, 5 Muse 6 The Proving 7 Perversion

I've also finished:

8. Wintersong(I did enjoy Lisl's character and I was hoping more would develop with Kathryn, but the "love interest" didn't suit my fancy.)

9 Box of Frogs(The main character was so endearing and innocent, it was a delight being introduced to this magical world through her eyes. The amnesia element was used to great effect in this book)
And I'm almost done with:

10 Captive Prince(I'm about 80% done with this. I can tell it is one of those very slow-burn type of novels. Very intriguing. I might have to pick up the next one)

Now, I've started on:

11 Governor (mmmm), 12 Unmasked by the Marquess (loving it!), and 13 Six of Crows (barely started)

I hope to be halfway done with those by the end of the month and I have the audio books for 14 American Prince and 15 Red, White & Royal Blue on hold, both arriving in 2 to 4 weeks. But I'll have to save ReneCade for another month. All in all, I think I did an OK job. Thanks for the picks!

The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Montague Siblings, #1) by Mackenzi Lee Splendid (The Splendid Trilogy, #1) by Julia Quinn Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1) by Becky Albertalli One Night Charmer (Copper Ridge, #4) by Maisey Yates Muse by Alexa Riley The Proving by Beverly Lewis Perversion (Perversion Trilogy, #1) by T.M. Pacat Governor (Governor Trilogy, #1) by Lesli Richardson Unmasked by the Marquess (Regency Imposters, #1) by Cat Sebastian Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo American Prince (New Camelot Trilogy, #2) by Sierra Simone Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Halo, Romancing the Werewolf, Three, Out of the Blue (I went on a binge read of this author's books after reading this one - and still reading more!) & The Highlander. I'll have Felix and the Prince posted in a little bit, too!

I'm not sure if I'll get to the other ones, but I do plan to listen to Fated: Blood and Redemption & read Echoes of the Gods at some point this summer...and I added Feral Sins (an MF title!!!) to my TBR - which I think threw off some of my GR friends!

May was a craaaaazy month for me and it FLEW by! (I know, I say that every month...)
Anyway, I did manage 3 of your picks, though none of them were my new to me ones. Those are going on my TBR list for ASAP reading! Thank you SO much for all the fab picks!!

Read:
The King's Man (Welsh Blades #1) by Elizabeth Kingston ★★★★ - Good solid story though it shames me it took me half the month to read it!
'Til Death Do Us Part by Amanda Quick ★★ - I was really disappointed in this one. It sounded so good and started off well, but then it just kind of petered out and I nearly DNF!
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella ★★★★★ - Wonderful read/listen!! LOVED it and definitely recommend it!

I'm also reading Beard in Mind (Winston Brothers, #4) by Penny Reid now, but might have to put it down for a bit to read another one that's due to my library this week.
