There isn't much of a plot or character development in this short story, but who cares? Just grab aglass bottle of your favorite wine, relax and enjoy. Vinter and Elise will do the rest. ;)

It’s simple: I NEED a Vinter of my own.
I’ve never read an erotica romance before this. So some of my friends here on GR (Elena and Holly) wished to corrupt my mind further by introducing me to this genre and well... I got my erotica-romance-cherry popped, so to speak :P
This short story is HOT HOT HOT! When Elise gets dumped via text message by a douche, she does her sulking in a bar (I mean, where else is there to go?). When a hot tattooed and pierced man approaches her and offers to “take care of her”, Elise is more than willing to forget the jerk and move on.
Since it is a short story, everything moves at a very fast-pace(including the sex). Elise learns to let go of her sexual inhibitions and really go for it with Vinter. And Vinter is finding that Elise’s plus-size figure is too tempting to resist.
Vinter is hella sexy and his piercing fetish is something that a lot of girls would drool over. He’s the ultimate bad boy. And all I have to say is, I want one.
And I have to mention the phone scene. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about because I could not get that scene out of my head!
Simple Need is too sexy for words. Just read it, you definitely won’t forget Vinter’s name after this.

This book should have been called SCORCHING NEED! What I loved most about the story was this scrumptious MAN, Vinter, let Elise, a down on her man-luck, self proclaimed plus-size, average women, control where their tryst would take them. He lets her take the reins, and in doing so releases her inner bad girl, which explodes with his yummy bad boy. He wasn’t really a bad boy, in fact I thought he was a gentleman, but expressed himself through his body art, piercings and his love of smokin’ hot sex…SWEET!! He lets her ‘act’ out her revenge on her ex and it is nothing short of amusing.
Just one night, day, whatever with Vinter would probably kill me, but oh I would die going out with a ‘bang’ and a great big smile on my face!

I really enjoyed Simple Need. Vinter was so damn fine. He was confident, direct and have the most wicked piercing in his nether regions...yes ladies, his jolly roger was all pimped out. On top of that, his body was perfectly covered like a canvas in tats making him one true blue bad boy. But the best part – not only did he have the wickedness – but he also had the charm. He was respectful, he was a gentleman and he was all together charming.
I fell in love. I want my own hunky Vinter all to myself.
Lissa Matthews work is gritty. It is masculine, intense .....and I have to mention it again – just plain manly. It isn’t frilly or girlie, it is gruff and I love it. It is a different style from the erotic romance I am used to and I can’t wait to read more.

This was a very hot, yummy but short read. What I'd like to know is where were all the Vinter's when I was on the market. This guy was like the energizer bunny with the batteries in backwards, he kept coming and coming, LMAO! I'm old and married now so there is no way I'll ever find out just how good a pierced penis would feel, drat! I'm sure my husband would not even take a suggestion like that seriously, hahahaha.

Elise has been dumped by text message by her boyfriend who ended up being married. She has had full access to him – phone number, address, could see him anytime, so finding out he is married is quite a shock to her. Drowning her sorrows at a bar, she meets Vinter (love his name!) who takes one look at the luscious Elise and wants to make her feel better. He offers her a night of sex – for her to forget her worries. He also has the urge to get to know her better, but for tonight, he wants to give her excitement and naughtiness. Having some liquid courage in her she accepts, but that same liquid courage makes her fall asleep on the way home. So their exciting night, turns into a snooze fest – but no worries, they make up for it in the morning.
Simple Need is a hot story – a short one, but in this short space Lissa Matthews writes a pretty convincing relationship. It only takes place over one day, and yet the events that unfold are realistic. After Elise falls asleep, he decides to let her sleep the rest of the night instead of forcing the sex issue. He is a gentlemen – a gentlemen that is tattooed and pierced – in all the right places. When Elise awakes the next morning, that courage from the alcohol is gone and it takes a lot for her to work up the nerve to have sex. But Vinter realizes this and once she starts, she is all for it.
There is a great scene with them in the middle of oh so naughty sexin’ and her phone rings with her ex-boyfriend. It becomes a very steamy scene as she takes the call, and the sexin’ action doesn’t stop.
Simple Need is a fast and furious erotic story. A bad boy that is a gentlemen – it doesn’t get better.

I've read a lot of on-line erotica and this story is one of the sexiest, juiciest, and frankly dirtiest erotic stories I've read.

I loved both Vinter's and Elise's characters. Vintner (love the name) was beyond scrumptious. The black painted fingernails I could have done without. A little too gothic for me. Both Vinter's and Elise's characters felt fresh and vibrant. I was amazed at how multi-dimensional they were for a short story. I also loved that Elise's character was plus sized and wasn't obnoxiously insecure about it.
My only complaint is I wish the story was a bit longer. I wanted to know more about their lives and what happened next. I would have loved for a small epilogue to have been included. The story's end just felt a bit abrupt for the amount of characterization it had.

I gotta tell you, this is one of the best, most erotic short stories I have ever read. The hero Vinter is to die for. Lots of tatts and piercings with about 4 of those piercings on his d***. He is just so raw and earthy but with a kind, loving heart. I want a man just like him. I liked the heroine Elise too. I wanted the story to go on and on to see what happened with them although I don't doubt they had a great HEA.

I read this at a childrens Play Centre. Not an appropraite place to read when you are having to constantly clench your thighs together.... I knew this was going to be hot, but I dont think I expected this. For crying out loud I read it at a play centre.
I recommend reading in the privacy of your own room with one hand holding your book/kindle and the other holding your vibrator between your legs.

Since this is a pretty short story, everything is pretty much fast-paced. Vinter is the owner of the bar where Elise decides to drown her sorrows after being dumped by her current boyfriend who had done the deed via SMS, letting her know in the process that he had been a married man all along. Average looking at most with a body that is a bit fuller than what’s the rage, Elise is on her way to becoming drunk when Vinter steps in making all her hormones go on full red-alert to the delicious man-candy he presents.
Vinter notices the buttoned-up Elise the moment she steps into his bar. Though his intention had only been to just converse with her and find out what was troubling her, the moment she flashes those emerald green eyes filled with longing at him, Vinter is a goner. The undeniable attraction that flares up between Elise and Vinter makes Vinter propose to Elise to let him make her forget every damn thing in her life apart from how Vinter is able to make her feel.
Thus starts out an all out sexual affair which leaves all of Elise’s senses reeling. Having always put aside her true nature and molding herself into what is the norm of the society has made her lose herself somewhere along the way. And it is under Vinter’s commanding fingers that she lets go and embrace her true sensual nature; a journey that leaves the reader tingling in all the right place. *wink*
The ending in this one is also a bit abrupt as it is the case with most of the novellas. Though I didn’t much care for the scene towards the end where Elise’s ex-boyfriend calls her up wanting to mend fences I suppose, I still liked this hot, hot and hot novella and would recommend it to those who love a good erotic contemporary novella with a hero who will just make your heart go aflutter and make all your good-girl genes cry out to claim him as your own.

WHEW! That was a smokin' hot read. Vinter, Vinter, VINTER!!!! He's my new fantasy man. What could be hotter than a tatted up, pierced-to-the-hilt, sex coming out of the pores, bad boy??? Okay, WOW! Verrrry hot! This was a short one, but it sure got the point across....many, many, many times;) I really like the way Lissa Matthews writes. This is the first book I've read by her, but I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. And, really, what is there to say about Vinter?! Except maybe, freaking OUCH!! I mean, um, YUM...but, still?? Ow, ow, ow, ow!!!

So here's Elise sitting in a bar, which she never does, having a few drinks alone, which she never does, all because her boyfriend text messaged her that he was calling off their relationship to go back to his wife, which she never knew he had in the first place. So many new experiences all in one day. The bartender asks if she wants another drink and Elise decides shes had enough. She needs to get home it's been a long day, but this big good looking guy with tattoos on his arms and piercings here and there sits down next to her and announces that she should have another drink anyway. She starts to decline and he insists convincing her to tell him why she has had such a long day. She can't understand it but she finds herself pretty attracted to him. He is absolutely NOT her type. She goes for guys in business suits. But after today she's thinking maybe she should try following a different track, besides he was definitely affecting her libido. No this wasn't happening . She'd just been dumped and was feeling vulnerable, but this guy was so gorgeous and hot So she told him what happened to her and he said "Text message? You serious? Dumbass man." That kind of wins her over to his way of thinking. Moving on quickly after a lot of talk and flirting the tattooed man says "Let me take care of you." Holy cow! She's not even his type. Girl is sat at a bar drowning her sorrows swearing off men for good, cue hotter than hell guy approaches, asks to buy her a drink, lust sparks fly between them, guy offers a night of wild sex to make her forget her troubles, girl's fantasy come to life she gets everything sexually she's always repressed....and more. Simple Need by Lissa Matthews has to be one of the best erotica stories i've read this year, it's certainly going on my best reads list.
Holy wow, the author packs a lot of steam in this novella, and it doesn't feel at all rushed even though Elise and Vinter form a closeness in just over a day.

Vinter was a sexy and sweet hero and Matthews definitely excels at writing sizzling chemistry and hot scenes - this part of the book I could easily give 3.5 or 4 stars to - but overall Simple Need was not a smooth or even read. It was like we're shown the two characters, then cut to sex, then we see a little more personality and depth, then cut to sex, etc. I would prefer one or the other - either make it a romance story with hot love scenes that fit with the story and characters, or make it straight-up erotica and don't really worry about anything else. Good examples of stories that achieve this balance are Willing Victim by Cara McKenna and The Sweetest Tattoo by Cameron Dane.

I read about this book a while ago but it was taken out of publication. I must say I was pleasantly surprised when it came back. In this story we have a bar owner that wants to help a sad patron at his bar. They end up hitting it off and before you know it a crazy lust filled weekend comes into play. I know this story was more of an erotic story, but I really wanted substance I wanted to know what happens between these two. I'm selfish, I want more.
