PamG (lynguy1) | 975 comments Here is my review of a military thriller: Relentless Relentless (Rogue Team International #2) by Jonathan Maberry by Jonathan Maberry. This is the is the second book in Rogue Team International (RTI) series featuring Joe Ledger. Overall, this novel is a shockingly dark, disturbing, and emotional ride. The story immediately pulls the reader in and never lets him or her off the rollercoaster of action and emotion.

PattyMacDotComma My Year Of Living Vulnerably sounds like a memoir by talented, tormented Aussie journalist, author, and broadcaster Rick Morton, but it dives into culture, politics, philosophy, and science, especially PTSD and the brain. Fascinating stuff and a great read!

PattyMacDotComma I loved An Imaginary Life by acclaimed Aussie author David Malouf. What a strange and fascinating life he's dreamed up for the exiled Roman poet Ovid, banished forever to a remote village with primitive customs (and no common language).

LFL = Little Free Library

I have fifteen within walking distance in my neighborhood.

Brenda, we have a TON of LFLs in my area, but then—the movement did get its start in Wisconsin. Technically, there are five in my neighborhood proper, and ten at the elementary school just over the boundary of my neighborhood and another. We added three of the five LFL in my neighborhood during the pandemic. It is possible to visit all fifteen on a three mile loop around the neighborhood.

A friend’s neighborhood only has two, so I am definitely spoiled in this regard. There are also some near or at the two grocery stores I frequent, and I know where a few boxes are in nearby neighborhoods, too. I enjoy checking them out, and finding new ones. Many people have one of the utilitarian models found on the LFL website while others get pretty creative with their boxes.

You're very lucky Heather! Do you donate back to the LFLs as well?

Brenda — Yes, I do. Whenever I decide to purge books I either donate them to a LFL or the library used book sale.
