Review: Seven turns (Pernese years) have past since the Threads began falling on Pern. When Lessa went between times to bring dragonriders forward in time to help with the onslaught, all of Pern cheered, but now the Oldtimers demands and staunch traditionalism have caused deep divides between Weyr, Hold, and Craft. Can Lessa, F'lar, and F'nor ease these men from long ago into a new time, with new customs and relationships? Also, what secrets does the Southern Continent hold, and how can dragonriders use these discovers to possibly end the fall of Threads forever? The second adventure in the Dragonriders of Pern series delves even further into the world of Pern, as the characters discover more about the ancient past of their planet, even as they look forward to best manage their future.

Just a heads up - I have an event that I have to present at on Friday and all day Saturday - so I may be a little late with my book. I will try and get it done by Sunday morning. Sorry for the this!

I honestly don't know how to rate this. On one hand I really liked the premise of the story. Loved the family issue, in the next I felt part of the writing had been disconnected. The dual pov easily was disconcerting because you never knew who said what. I'll have too think hard for a proper review.

While this was good it wasn't great. Something was missing for me. The heroes in this series are so very drool worthy and Nicky Blue-eyes was no exception. What I enjoy most about this series is seeing what the tales are up to in the here and now. We get to meet Rumplestiskein in this one and he's a gay jeweler that will crack you up. And let's not forget the 3 little pigs who now are in the business of disposing bodies when they're not being sued for building shoddy houses lol. All in all an ok read it could of been better though.

Geaux Tigers!!!

Nothing is worse than wondering when a review will be in and we can roll lol, so I appreciate you keeping us updated.

And I agree Jenne!
I am reading

Review: This is the story of Liir, a young man who may (or may not) be the son of Elphaba, better known as the Wicked Witch of the West. The story begins when a traveling party discovers Liir close to death. He's taken to a nearby mauntery (sort of like an Oz convent) where a young novice, Candle, plays music for him. The music seems to awaken the mind of Liir, if not his body, and the reader learns of the last ten years, from the death of Elphaba to the terrifying creatures that have been terrorizing Oz and have left Liir at death's door. Many of Oz's favorite characters show up (from L. Frank Baum's original world and Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West), as well as fascinating new characters. I wasn't in love with this book, but I'm interested enough to continue the series.

Review:
This is #2 in the series and having read a few of them out of order is it's nice to start at the beginning and find out where everyone started. This one has a little creepy feel to it but it's very interesting storyline and kept me interested throughout. It's a pretty quick read and I really wasn't sure where she was going to go with it.

I rolled a 3 and our new space is 26: Title E
So we can read a #2 in a series, a #6 in a series, a #26 in a series or a book with a title that begins with E.
Let the searching begin!

I think I'll be reading

#6 in the Pennyroyal Green series

I think I'll be reading

#6 in the Pennyroyal Green series

Review: This is the second installment into the re-released edition. I absolutely loved this one. Hsin becomes extremely more human in this one. We see a while new side of him and he was a 28 yr old virgin. I seem that coming a mile away. Boyd, Boyd, sweet Boyd. He rocked Sin's live bad. The mission went all around, but spending a year in Mexico definitely changed them. It had me on the edge of my seat all throughout the book.

These are good for when you're in the mood for a mindless and hot read. Kinda like junk food when you're slightly hungry lol. Will I ever adore this series, preorder it, no. But I will continue it when I've overdosed on heavier reads, yes.

Review: It's 1935 and Moose Flanagan lives on Alcatraz Island, just like Al Capone. Only Moose doesn't live on Alcatraz because he's a criminal. His dad is an electrician and prison guard, and like most of the men who work on the island, he and his family live there too. In the first book, Moose settles into this new world, and even gets Capone to do him a favor, but now Capone wants the favor returned. Moose has to learn to navigate a world that's getting increasingly tricky, not only because of the gangster, but also because his friends are all mad at him, and he's dealing with the guilt of enjoying having his mom all to himself (now that his developmentally-challenged sister is living at a special school in San Francisco). The author has clearly done her research, and includes a note at the end of the novel describing some of her sources of inspiration, including interviews with those who, like Moose, grew up on the island.

#2 Duchess Diaries
Review:
This was a sweet, fairytale romance with a sexy Prince for a hero and a dtermined Cinderella ish heroine. Easy to read, interesting side characters and a few laughs. Karen Hawkins is always enjoyable!

So reasons you should read these books:
A) It's all sorts of awesome snarkiness, Malice anyone lol
B) How many times can a group of teens outsmart the military, a secret medical research group, and most importantly of all zombies!
C) Throw in a little dash of young love *sighs*
D) Next mix a little family drama into the story
And voila you have an awesome book that'll keep you turning the pages with a silly grin on your face!
