Read Secrets of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #3) by Diana Rowland by Diana Rowland
Finished: 8/31/14
Rating:★★★★☆
Review:
This was much better than the first two. It was a fast and easy read but it's still missing a little that's keeping it from being great. Some of the stuff about Ryan is answered but it also opened up more questions! I'm very curious for the next book now. The mystery part kept me guessing till the end and I sure wasn't expecting for it to go down like it did. I'm glad Kara is opening up to her friends as well and not being as much of a loner as in the previous two!

message 67: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Okay, I have to change my book - just could not read the one I picked. Everything I hate in one book!

So I will read Stolen which was published in 2004.

Sorry about that!

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments That's a good one Leslie, it's what sold me on the series.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments Read The Final Rule (My Brother's Keeper, #3) by Adrienne Wilder by Adrienne Wilder
Finished 9/2/14
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review: I really wanted the last book to wow me and it didn't. It lacked so bad, I'm so upset with A.W for killing off I've if my favorite characters. I didn't live the horror aspect it the series. Her and I are done until November when thirteen comes out.

message 71: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Good to know, Jenne - because I'm still iffy on the series, but I desperately need another long shifter series to get into. I've finished all the Mercy Thompson/Alpha & Omega books, World of the Lupi, Shifters Unbound and Psy-changeling. I'm hoping this one will work for me!

message 72: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments good job Mika :)
Leslie I felt pretty meh after book 1. Book 2 was a lot better IMO.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments How are your reads coming along Theo and Leslie?

Stolen (Women of the Otherworld #2) by Kelley Armstrong
9/3/14 4★
Review:
I like this book much more than the first book of the series. Elena is not fighting against being a werewolf and she is with Clay. This grounds her character and the whole story just works better. This book brings into play other supernatural groups and while it had holes in the storyline, it was still good. The action kept the book moving forward at a pretty quick pace and all the new characters were pretty interesting. I am now looking forward to reading the next one.

message 76: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Glad you liked it better! I did too, and really they get better and better from here on out.

message 77: by Theo (new)

Theo | 1929 comments I got a late start to my book because of traveling and visiting instead of reading. I'm just about done, but I have church tonight, so I probably won't get my review posted until 9 or 10 tonight. I promise to have it up before midnight!

message 78: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Thanks for the update :)

Mika are still wanting to roll tonight? Please don't stay up late just to, if you're up anyways then roll away :)

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments I'll be up! I'll roll for the homies. Lol

message 80: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Awesome :)
Just use the link in post 2, change it to one die and roll.

message 81: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Jenne, I'm reading this one and the next one for the FWYS challenge as it was picked this month - so I have the next one ready to read on my kindle app. Good to know it stays good.

Roll something good, Tamika!!

Read: Starclimber (Matt Cruse, #3) by Kenneth Oppel by Kenneth Oppel
Finished: 09/03/14
Rating: 4 stars
Review: The third and final installment in the adventures of Matt Cruse is a steampunk fantasy blending Victorian sensibilities with space travel. Pilot-in-training Matt Cruse, and socialite-cum-scientist Kate de Vries leap at the chance to be among the first people to travel to space aboard the top-secret Starclimber. Just like the first two books, this story is filled with high-intensity fun, a touch of romance, and scientific discovery. A great conclusion to an amazing series.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments ^5's FPR :)
We're all set to roll in a couple of hours.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments We rolled a 5!

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments I'm going to go with "R", and do a re-read of one of my Favorite YA books.

Reasons I Fell for the Funny Fat Friend by Cassie Mae

message 86: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Great job, Tamika!!

I will also go with R and will be reading Fated (Dark Protectors, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti by Rebecca Zanetti

It's on it's second round of check out from the library and they won't let me renew it again! As it's due back in 4 days - I have motivation to finally read it!

message 87: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Awesome roll! That puts us on spot 8 and that alternate is set in New York, so it's either that or an 8th in a series. And of course the book I started yesterday is set in New York.....Murphy's Law every time!

message 88: by Theo (new)

Theo | 1929 comments I'll be reading The Hostile Hospital (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #8) by Lemony Snicket , the eighth book in the Series of Unfortunate Events.

message 89: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Ok finally found a New York book, going with Heat Stroke (Weather Warden, #2) by Rachel Caine

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments Okay, now they are being difficult. Do you know how hard it is to find a book in New York when I'm looking for one. Everything is abroad, ugh back to scouring my kindle

message 91: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I know! Any other time it's easy to find one. The Secret McQueen books take place there and so does Guild Hunter both are very good.

message 92: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Also First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost does too.

message 93: by Jenne (last edited Sep 04, 2014 11:09AM) (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments BDB (which you're probably current on) and her other series (can't think of the name).
If the book takes place in New York for just a second it counts.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments I know, but I kinda don't want to read those. I want mm but can't seem to find those damn state books.

Fallen Angels series - I think there is a new one out this fall sometime....

message 96: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments That's the name of it! I only read the first 2 many years ago.

message 97: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Mika it's so much better when we get into double digits, it'll give us 2 # options vs just the 8 like this week unless of course you land on 55 or something (which I always seem to).

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 445 comments Girl Fallen Angel aren't for me!

I'll find something.

message 99: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments There's a website
www.bookssetin.com where you can type in the location you're looking for and it'll pull up pages of books set in said location.
