ABANDONED. YA Action/ Superpower books- 4 book series but I'm looking for the first one- about 4 characters with powers whose mothers are dead. Spoilers.

So I read this a few years ago and I remember it was about this experiment that was done on some mothers that gave the kids powers but the problem was that the mothers died as a result of the experiment. So its 4 kids who don't know each other but have powers, the main guy has telekinetic powers and is approached by someone who wants to help him and introduces him to this girl who also has powers and was in the experiment too. So main guy goes to a boarding school (I'm pretty it sure it was a boarding school anyway) and his dad is the headteacher or a normal teacher and male protagonist in love with his female best friend who is dating a complete asshole. New guy comes to their school who is quite nerdy and also turns out to be one of the people in the experiment- his power is that he can communicate with others telepathically. They're all about 16 years old and its a teenager book. Hope that helps!

SPOILER: The female best friend turns out to also have powers of being able to tell the future although that's discovered later on in the book.
