So this is the second book in the past few weeks I have unintentionally picked that has sexual abuse from a step mother. The author did a really good job with the characters between the step mother, Adele, feeling entitled to Drew along with being able to manipulate him in addition Drew feeling disgusted and unworthy and a lot of suppressed anger. Fable is able to help Drew realize that he was actually molested as a teenager instead of an affair that Adele convinced Drew that they were having. This was only the first book of four with Drew and Fable. This one ended with Drew leaving Fable while he deals with his past. I wasn’t happy that he wouldn’t let her be there for him while he goes through whatever necessary to be whole again, I did like that he wrote a letter using their code word for help.

I have to *skip* #5 but I'm ok with that. I read 4 a while ago. I just need to get back in and get this series done. I'm not loving it like I was in the beginning..... Although this one is starting out ok - we'll see how it goes.

This book was some of what I expected but a lot that I did not expect but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. We start this book out by meeting Kennedy who is a girl that has her mom die and soon a demon tries to kill her. I liked that she got help in the form of two brothers named Lucas and Jared Lockhart. I think what I liked about the book the most is that there were so many similarities to the show Supernatural and I love that show. I love how we got to see so many of the devices they use for ghosts and spirits but the author put her own spin on them. Kennedy quickly learns that the brothers are a part of a group that her mom was also in but she knows nothing about. It was interesting to see Kennedy adjusting the learning curve that you can tell the others had more time to learn. They clearly had years of experience and she was the newbie in the group but as the story goes on you can tell she is needed.
As the story continues we learn more about what the group is about and why they were formed. I liked the premise the author created and there are so many fun scenes that happen in this book but a lot of creepiness also. The author amps up the scare factor throughout this book and I found myself wigged out a few times but they were worth it. Kennedy learns so much about herself as we get further into the story and the team heads off on a quest to find pieces to build a device that they believe will bring down the evil they are after. I liked the other characters in the book too with Priest being my favorite with all the cool things he is able to invent and how smart he is for his age.
Overall this was a quick and easy read and I am looking forward to the sequel because the ending was not what I saw coming. I am interested in seeing how the team will fix their issues and work to take down the evil after them. I am hoping to see more a clear cut lead for Kennedy too and not the little love triangle we have going that I don’t care much for. I think that was the only thing that really didn’t work for me in the story. I honestly didn’t see the point of it all. I would recommend this one to all my supernatural book lovers.

Review: Lisa of the si/no goes missing from PsyTrain. Vic is worried he is not buff enough for Jacob. Dreyfus is still trying to figure out how to get Vic on his team. We meet all sorts of weird when Jacob and Vic go snooping around Psytrain training center. Lots of odd stuff going on with this one. I liked getting back into this series. This book had a better feel to me than the last one I had read. Vic usually gets on my nerves and didn't too much this go round. However he was off his drugs for most of this book hmmmmm.....maybe there is something to that, lol.

Review:
The last book in the series, and it was an okay read. Abby is the last person in the Deb club that was left. She seems to have it all, a good job, a good husband except everything has been falling apart. She hates her job, she finds out her husband, Luke has been lying to her. And her mother was murdered (which is the mystery that has underlined all of the books in the series.) And now someone is trying to kill her and she is going to divorce her husband and move on. Exccept, Luke does not want a divorce, he can't tell her what he does and why. But he loves her and wants to stay married. It was a pretty okay read, a little more action related to the mystery, but a bit of loose ends left over but I am just glad I am finished with the series, it was an okay series overall.

I'm familiar with some of the author's other books so I wanted to read this one. It was an okay book. Some parts were boring and some were interesting. Overall, it was an interesting book that kept my interest throughout.

It was good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. The story was interesting enough and I liked how pudge was into Alaska, but I really just didn't get a good feel for the story as a whole. Definitely wasn't bad, but maybe my expectations were too high to begin with.

Review: what's not to like about the book: action, hot alpha male, sexiness and a kickass heroine .....even if she has OCD. Which I found hilarious! Caedeon is trying to right a wrong and save Rydstrom's kingdom by giving up his fated female - Holly. Things are so much easier in your head than in reality. IAD gets better and better.

This book was amazing and full of what I love in my books. It being set in New Orleans and involving voodoo was the best part and once you add in a girl from the wrong side of the tracks and the rich guy it gets even better. The book has a little bit of a love triangle but one that I am ok with it going in either direction. I started and read this one in one day because I couldnt stop reading. I cant wait for the next one.

Scarowinds has 3 new Halloween attractions this year that were fun and watch out for potted bushes, just don't tell your son if you want him to get scared.

This was an amazing book! It was really enjoyable from beginning to end! When Abby found herself in danger, I really was on the edge of seat wanting to how she will get out of it. I'll definitely continue this mystery series whenever I can get my hands on Better Read Than Dead which is book two!

Lol. Scared my son and husband too

I am catching up with my harlequins that I am in between. This was nothing special, but good if you wanted something easy and not too taxing. Ryan is spending a month in Tahoe per his deceased friend, which all of the college group of friends are doing part of the backstory for the series. They each have to spend a month in the house that will be a retreat for cancer patients and if all of the friends stay their for their month's time, there will be a donation of 20 million to the charity as well. This book is about Ryan who is taking his turn for his stay in the house, while still working on over taking his father's company even though he is a millionaire in his own right. There he meets the heroine, Kelly. It is lust at first sight for our hero and heroine until they realize that the heroine is the daughter of the woman who was mistress to Ryan's father. As much as they don't like each other, they spend a lot of time in each other's company because Kelly is contracted to decorate the house. As they get to know each other, they fall in love and live happily ever after.

I have really enjoyed the Atlantis series. In this book, the gods fight over who should have dominion over Atlantis by staging game of the fiercest warriors for each species. Depending upon who wins will determine which god will win Atlantis. This book reminded me a lot of Survivor with the only difference that whoever is voted off is killed. In this book, there are several love interests going on. It seemed a few vampires have found their mate. One in which started in the last book, and another which continues in the last book of the series and then the main one with Layal, the Vampire King and Delilah, an Amazon warrior.
I did enjoy this book. For the majority of the book, Layal had an internal fight with himself not wanting to forget about his mate who died two centuries prior. He eventually realizes that Delilah is his mate. I do like that with all of the relationships that are slowly developing, that the men have to fight for their love. I really want to read the last story to see what happens with Zane and Nola.

I liked the book enough but I felt like there should have been more to it. There was a lot of potential to a longer story. I also thought that the climax occurred and then the book just ended. Four stars because I really did love the story
