Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments Ah, here's my group! Hello everyone. :)

message 9: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Hello Marty, Hilary and Rose! :)
While we are waiting for Sha: Anyone interested in being captain? Any ideas for team name?

message 10: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) Has anyone on our team done this challenge before? This is my first time :) I am in ET zone, so it would be a little late for me to roll the dice. What time zones is everyone else in?
I don't have any interesting ideas yet for our name, but I am trying :)

message 11: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Marty and Rose have played before and so has Sha (I'm sending her a pm to let her know teams are up). Y'all need to decide pretty quick who's rolling, the first rolls tomorrow. Hilary if it does happen to fall on you, you don't have to stay up you can roll when you wake up Friday. Most teams pick someone with a timezone advantage. People overseas and people on the west coast have it made for ideal rolling times lol.

message 12: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments It's my first time too Hilary :)
I'm from IST Indian Standard Time. It's 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of GMT.

message 13: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments What time is it there right now Arshiya? It's 11:29 am in central time right now.

message 14: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments It's 10 pm. 28th August :)

message 15: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments It might be good for you to roll then, that would make it late morning for you when it's midnight in central us time. Then anyone here in the us can wake up and have the roll waiting on them.
I'm by no means saying you have to, just kicking out ideas since the start is approaching :)

message 16: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Okay then. I'll roll! :P
But when do I roll? In my time?

message 17: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments No in Central, you can roll anytime after 12 hours twenty minutes from now. You'll see too when the other teams start rolling and know it's time. After you roll post it here for your team to see. Y'all will need to decide on a captain and a team name too. Hopefully some input will get posted today. The main thing though was getting the rolling worked out because it's almost time :D

message 18: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Also if you need any help, our mod Paris should be up and around at that time too, with Denise not far behind her. (Ezi & I will be in bed lol)

message 19: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments That's like at 10:30 in the morning here. Okay. I'll do it. :)

message 20: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) I know I was starting to get worried! Thank you for rolling Arshiya :)

message 22: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments No problem :)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Hilary wrote: "I know I was starting to get worried! Thank you for rolling Arshiya :)"

It's no problem Hilary :)
Got any ideas for team name? I'm kinda stumped :P

message 24: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) Well... I was trying to think if there are any common phrases using the word "eleven" and the only thing I can think of is "the eleventh hour"... so some ideas from that could be "reading 'til the 11th hour" or "11th hour readers"... or we could just come up with a random name that doesn't have anything to do with the number 11.

message 25: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Reading till the 11th hour sounds good.

As for random names not related to 11 how about:
Stuck to Books
Series readers Ltd.
Books and Us??

Silly names. But that's all I can think of right now :P

message 26: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) I like Stuck to Books too :)

message 27: by Elle (new)

Elle Hey Team! Sorry I'm late- I can't wait to get started! I'm good with Stuck to Books.

message 28: by Rose (new)

Rose | 126 comments Stuck to books works for me. Anyone up for being captain? I could do it if no one wants to, but I've never been before.

message 29: by Marty (last edited Aug 28, 2014 09:11PM) (new)

Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments Stuck to Books works for me too. Thanks for being the leader Arshiya. I am traveling all day tomorrow, so I probably couldn't make the roll in a timely fashion.

message 30: by Elle (new)

Elle I opt out of being captain. We need to decide soon so we can roll. I guess we can give it until first thing tomorrow.

message 31: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Hi Sha, Marty & Rose!
I'm rolling the dice but I'm not the Captain. My college will my starting in two weeks so I don't think I can keep up. Anyone else up for it?
I'll roll the dice each week and post our spot. The Captain has to post all the completed books by the team I think.

message 32: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments I rolled the dice.
We got: 4 + 2 =6
Our Spot = 6

So we have to read a #6 in series or the alternative 6 ->Cover Item tattoo

message 33: by Elle (new)

Elle Sounds good. So I think that makes Rose the captain. :)

message 34: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) I already picked my book. I am going to use a tattoo cover :)

I updated the discussion thread to announce our team name! I told them our captain is still TBD, just to be sure :) I would volunteer, but I have never played before and I am a little unsure about where and how to post the group reviews, etc! Rose, is it ok to officially say you are the captain?

message 35: by Marty (new)

Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments I'll read Among the Mad by Jacqueline Winspear, #6 in the Maisie Dobbs series.

message 36: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments I'm going with the tattoo too :)

My book : Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1) by Simone Elkeles

message 37: by Rose (new)

Rose | 126 comments Sorry guys. work was hectic and then a celebration may have occurred:). I'll be captain.

Elle I am reading Hot Six (Stephanie Plum, #6) by Janet Evanovich

message 40: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) My book is Desired Affliction 1 (Cherry Blossom Series, #1) by C.A. Harms

message 41: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) Week 1
Spot 6
Read Desired Affliction 1 (Cherry Blossom Series, #1) by C.A. Harms by C.A. Harms.
Finished 8/31/14
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
First, I love the cover, especially because the description of the main character and his tattoo matched the picture on the cover. It always bothers me when the descriptions in a story don't match the cover ;) the story itself was quick moving and an easy read. I enjoyed the characters. It was a pretty emotionally charged story. I loved Lexi's interactions with Hope! Lexi knew just what to say to her! I don't really understand the title though, I am not sure what it has to do with the story or what it means exactly.

message 42: by Elle (new)

Elle Good job Hilary!

message 43: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) Thanks, Sha!

message 44: by Rose (new)

Rose | 126 comments Ha. I haven't even opened mine :)
In the spirit of more procrastination...

What type of books does everyone like to read?

message 45: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments I haven't started mine yet too Rose :P
I mostly read YA. Fantasy, Romance, PNR are some of my favorite genres. I especially enjoy books which make me laugh so hard that my family starts to think that I've gone mad. Or the ones that make me cry. Especially love those since for me those kinda books are hard to find.
What about you?

message 46: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) I mostly like to read "women's fiction", I think you call it. I like chick lit, stories with a little romance and/or mystery... I also like YA and memoirs... I enjoy a lot of different types of books :)

message 47: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments I read a lot of chick lit too. ;)

Elle Week 1
Spot 6
Hot Six (Stephanie Plum, #6) by Janet Evanovich - Book Six- Stephanie Plum series
Finished 9/3/14
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
I just love these books. This one was one of my favorites from the series. Stephanie Plum, the pitiful bounty hunter, once again gets trapped in the middle of a who-dunnit while taking on a couple of FTA's. The characters in the book never cease to bring on laugh-out-loud moments. Ranger is falsely accused of murder and has to clear his name. In the meantime, he enlists Stephanie to help him until things get a bit crazy (as usual). Stephanie ends up with interesting house guests, more vehicles and Grandma Mazur to keep her insane. What a fun read!

I've only managed three chapters of mine. I'll have to make some serious progress tonight and tomorrow!

I generally like historical fiction, mysteries and vampire fiction of the Sonja Blue variety.

message 50: by Rose (new)

Rose | 126 comments I read just about everything. It depends on my mood. Usually, I have one slightly harder book and then unwind with something fun, or familiar.

P.s. If we all get our reviews in my midnight tonight we get a free pass to use later. Mine will be in later tonight.
