R3: SS A 4ce To Be Reckoned With (4)
Well that was easy, I'm going to read
I went to start it when it came out but only got as far as sitting it in the living room. It's #13 in a series.
Perfect! I'm glad I waited to start my book because it is the first in the series. I will read
. Great roll!
Vicci- I know...it is a lot! I have another book that is only 250 pages I can read if I am short on time!!
Ok, never mind...I am reading Outlander, but don't want to have to rush through it. Will you put me down for this one instead? Also #1 in a series:

I'm kinda conflicted after reading this. It's dark which is right up my alley but something was missing. I didn't connect with the characters completely. I do think I'll give book 2 a try and then form my opinion. I'm a fan of dark and messy reads and this fits that criteria. Maybe after another book I'll care about the characters more.

Review:
This captivating book sets the stage for a series that I cannot wait to read! Blood Link tells the story of Sergeant Samantha Elliot, who in one night loses almost all of her military friends and coworkers, including her newly formed love interest Jay "Cowboy" Evans, in a brutal attack. After 30 years of mourning, Sam is on her deathbed, ready to meet her team in heaven. Much to her surprise though, Sam does not die. Instead, her former teammates, who were actually turned into vampires in the attack all those years ago, take control of Sam's care and transition her into a vampire as well. Sam's story continues as she reunites with her love interest Cowboy, comes to terms with her new form of existence and reclaims her place on her team.
There are so many things to love about this book! The concept itself, that of a vampire organization within the military, is so original and you can tell Lynne Scott is a veteran herself. I love the idea of a group of people that was a team before they were vampires and continue to strengthen those bonds once they become immortal. Can you imagine becoming a vampire? I think Scott does a wonderful job of describing all the Sam's reaction to her new life. It feels very realistic, not rushed. Sam is not blindly accepting of her new reality. She questions each part and goes through a whole range of emotions. And, who can resist the amazing chemistry between Sam and Cowboy?! The only aspect of the story that kept me from absolutely loving it was the number of characters made the story a little confusing initially. Once I got the characters straight, Sam's story absolutely sucked me in and I cannot wait to read about her and her vampire team in the next books of the series.
Should be finished with mine soon, I have no idea how I am going to review this on though! !! So good but so much content.

I have literally no idea how to review this book.
The 3rd and last book in the Chaos Walking trilogy, if you haven't read this series then you HAVE to add it to your TBR list
...and you HAVE to listen to it on audio, it is amazing.
Okay so the book picks up EXACTLY where book 2 ends, the Mayor/President has declared war on the Spackle and boy they are up for some war.
Todd and Voila have been separated, and Mistress Cole is still looking out for revenge for The Answer.
There were a lot of OMG moments on the book, Patrick Ness doesn't make this book into a 3rd crappie sequel, oh no, he keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last possible second, and I ♡'d It !!

First book in the parasol protectorate series. I started this one a couple years ago but set it aside for some reason. I'm very glad I gave it a second chance. I loved the fact that the main character was smart, outspoken, able to defend herself, but not expected to fight. I love PNR but this was definitely a change of pace. The best part was the humor. Funny without being snarky. I will be continuing this series.
Joni I've had a hard time with that series. Steampunk just isn't my thing but the humor is good and the endings usually make me give it an ok rating. I've just not had the desire to pick it up after the second book.
Jenne I'm not really a big Steampunk or romance fan either. I just really loved the humor. The bit about the robot like creature was a little off-putting. I'll check out one more and see how it goes.
Hey girls, I might need to change my book. I think I need to change to a kindle book, I haven't been well and haven't been able to get comfy enough to hold a book and read. I'll get my review posted tomorrow when I get back from the Doctor.
Thanks, reading is slow but I am soldiering through. Hope to finish in the next few hours. The antibiotics are making me feel really sick but I'll get there. Sorry for the delay!
Hey girls, confession time. I finished my book this morning and realised I got completely confused and read a book that doesn't fit the challenge. I read a book 2 in a series, which was the last roll not this one. When I got the kids back from school I sat down with an old favourite cause I knew I only had a few hours left and I have about 20 pages left. I'll get the review up tonight before bed.
Bloody typical! I came on earlier to write the review and as soon as I seen 13... You should have heard me! Luckily it wasn't tonight I checked. I needed a comfort read to recover :) At least it was a good book I stayed awake for. Feeding the munchkins and then I'll finish up my book. I've went from reading none in days to 2 books in 24 hours.

My Review:
This used to be one of my most read series, but I have been losing interest lately. I wanted to recapture my love of the early books before reading the newer titles.
Stephanie is a spunky heroine, she gets herself into some messes but she always manages to stumble through them. This book gave us many things I am grateful for but Ranger tops that list. There is so much potential in his character and I live for the day that Janet devotes a book to him. I like Morelli in this one, and I truly enjoyed the beginnings of the wee love triangle they have going on. Reading this one has made me nostalgic for the rest of the series and I might continue on with them soon!
I probably won't get my book read until Monday unless one of the Love at Stake books fit. I'm meeting Kerrelyn Sparks on Sunday and plan on re-reading as many as I can while feeling poorly.
Michelle you sure get a lot of authors in your area :)I've never been to a book signing. I'm 2 hours from Dallas and 2 hours from Houston so it's not likely I'll get to anytime soon lol.
Good morning Ladies here we go....WEEK 3
ROLL 4+5=9
Move from spot 13 to spot 22
This week you can read....
#2 in a series
#22 in a series
Alternative...22. Australia.
Lol, it's a new thing Jenne. Before this year's signing I had only ever met Donna Grant, we are friends and I am on her Street Team so when she was coming to Scotland on holiday we arranged to meet up. Kerrelyn is here on a writer's retreat with two author friends, they fly home Monday morning so my bff and I and a few other fans are meeting her at the hotel on Sunday. I am looking forward to it, I should be on the mend by then. :) I can usually read a book in 2hrs, that one was over 3, didn't feel like a quick read to me, hubby got home from work though and dealt with the kids, which helped.
I hope you do get to one Jenne, they are lots of fun. I am planning on attending another big one next year. There's 3 to choose from London, York & Aberdeen. I'm going to Aberdeen and taking hubby to help carry the books. I had nowhere near enough hands last year. Carlyn and I ended up with a suitcase and seven tote bags full of books and swag between us.
I will also be reading a #2 book but I'm waiting for my other team challenge to decide...hoping to knock out two birds with one stone!
Jenne wrote: "Good roll! Not sure what I'm reading but it'll be a #2 :)"
Me too Jenne, we are on the same spot:D
Vicci, what are you reading?
