Read: The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus, #4) by Rick Riordan as the alternative: number 4 in a series
Finished: 9/29/14

Review:What I loved about this book is the characters development. How they grew throughout the book.
First we have Percy and his experience in Tartarus, where he gets his eyes opened for some stuff.
Then there is Leo. When he crashed on that island and the few chapters of that romantic story... it was beautiful to read.
All of the characters grew in their own way and I congratulate Rick Riordan for doing such an amazing work with this book.
I cant wait for the fifth book to come out.

Raja and Vinny are back in the 4th installment that involves murder, Russian mob bosses, drugs, diamonds and cops. Diamonds never Die doesn't disappoint it's action packed loaded with mystery and intrigue. The characters are great two of my favorite detectives. I really enjoyed the book it was well written that it kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. I can't wait for the next one.

Page turner! Whenever I picked this up I just had to read one more chapter...I almost felt that there could be another in this series. The survivor stories, the cure? Whilst a kit if storylines were completed some were left open...

Read: Conquered by a Highlander (Children of the Mist, #4) by Paula Quinn 4th in series
finished 10/2
Rating 4 stars

review: I think that Paula Quinn doesn't get as recognized for her highland romances as much as she should. This is the second or 3rd book I've read by her and I enjoyed them all, this one included. I think the romance was a bit on the slow side to develop but it worked for this particular storyline. I also enjoyed the characters even though Quinn's characters are either good or bad. Not much in between. Since this is the 4th book in the series and I've yet to read 1-3 I'll definitely look into them and other Paula Quinn titles for that matter.

Now this is not your average historical thank god because average historical bore me. Set in Republiican Rome, this book deal with a new owner of a villa and the ludus, gladiator training facility, and the prime gladiator. this takes place a generation or so after Sparatacus and his rebellion. I love the juxtaposition of the gladiator, a Thracian slave, being the dominant over his Roman master. The roman Master is an idealist who also keep his body fit. they fall in love even though the Gladiator Killed the previous owner, uncle of Roman, of the villa/ludus (the roman didn't know that) and that the Roman Uncle had Destroyed the gladiator's village and the gladiator's lover. a strong enemy to lover hybrid. I loved it.

Review: I really liked this book. The thing I liked the most was that all these situations and all these girls seemed so real and it showed how people truly act in high school.
I liked how when they chose Candace it was because she was ugly on the inside.
I liked how things ended for Dannieal and how she found where she belonged and she found true friends.
The moment when Bridget and Lissa were talking about how Bridget was not eating and stuff...
I was conflicted about my feelings toward Margo. On one hand, there is her not accepting Jennifer and it looked kind of selfish and mean, but on the other it was not cool when her friends abandoned her.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

This one was a tough one for me not to get emotionally invested. A story about two characters who happen to have met again several years later after being friends as children. They both are the children of military fathers each with their own issues. While Tess's father suffers from PTSD she ends up getting brunt of his anger. She has a hard time letting people in but allows Drew to steal her heart. I enjoyed the story it sucked me and captured my heart pulling at my heartstrings.

Review: This book took me forever to get into. I didn't care if the main characters fell in love or not. I didn't care if the secondary cute romance was there. The only thing I really enjoyed was seeing the ins and outs of making a movie. I enjoyed seeing the actors scenes being done, the food area being used, the daily watching of the film shot earlier. I eventually did warm up to Jericho and Kate but their romance was nothing to shout about. I did find Jericho's battle with the bottle realistic and I did find Kate's body image issues to be true to life. I thought the ending of the book wrapped things up nicely and I did find it all touching but I thought the emotions it pulled from me was a "day late and a dollar short" as my grandma always said. Had the book rollercoastered my emotions early on my review would have a completely different message. As it stands this book was completely and totally average. It gets an extra half point for the interesting movie making information but this is definitely one book I'll not re-read.

I liked this book a lot set in NYC it is in a series that regards the lives of men who belong to the BDSM Club called Guards of Folsom. this Concern a Dom, Grant Maxwell, better known as Max and his new sub Aiden a fairly fresh from the farm young man from Indiana. This book is concurrent with the second book in the series and we see it from a different perspective in this. I will say I have heard the term Pony Boys/Girls and never understood what it meant. I have to say it is not for me. but that aside the book was very enjoyable.

Review:This book was like a farytale. Its the perfec book to read, while you are on the couch, blanket around you and drinking tea.

Most of the time I felt bad for our main character when he was remembering. How no one came to his birthday party, how when Ursula came he didnt eat, his father tried to drown him, and he couldnt tell Lettie.
The whole situation with the Hempstocks was a little weird and I laughed when he asked Lettie how old she is and she said 11 and then he asked how long has she been 11 and that remainded me so much of Twilight. It was so sad when Lettie 'went to Australia' and how he remembered nothing of what happened and how he kepped coming back to the ocean...
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I'll give it 3.5 stars.

I love this series. The characters and the world building is so vivid! However this one let me down just a little. It seemed to let things resolve rather quickly. There were big lead up, warnings and the characters just roll in and bam! Crisis averted. Many things have been left unsealed though so you want to keep reading. Particularly the situation in the girls home world.....

Miki is pulled into a alternate world where each time they are pulled they are sent to kill an alien race that threatens the earth. However sometimes they don't all come back. I really enjoyed the concept it's interesting a twist on Enders game but done better. I loved Miki as a character I was able to connect with her right from the start. I think the author did a great job creating a unique story that captures the heart.

My God I heard a lot of talk about this and decided to read it when It was recommend for me in the Fotm. thanks Jamie. My god if not for the torture scenes this would have been five stars but I still mostly loved it even if I wanted to bang MC heads together a few times to get them to really think. I love the japanese scenery could have done without the japanese prejudice against all people and things foreign. the tatoo imagery was great and I am not necessarily big on tattoos. I was impressed by Kenshin bravery and his quirky sense of humor. Oh my god this is a must read.

★★★★
