Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments I'm here!

Should we come up with a plan for how we're going to keep track of which books are being read for specific categories?

message 8: by ✨ A ✨ (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments Here is the spreadsheet provided for us https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
We're can make a copy of this and share it with our own groups. I tried doing it but it keeps saving in PDF format *face plam*
If any of you know how to do it please do 😊

message 9: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments I think I was able to copy it! Here's the shared link so you guys can see it:

Let me know if it doesn't work and I can send the link to you guys in an email

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments Thank you klancy! So what should we do? Just add our names to the prompts we can do?

message 11: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Yeah, that sounds good! If you have a book that fits a description, go ahead and add your name so everyone on the team knows that someone is already planning to read for it

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments For prompt 10 .the one about reading in March first before 13:00 gr time. I can do that one since I'm 10 hours ahead of gr time

message 16: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Sounds good! I added one book I plan to read to the sheet. Should we put the books we're planning to read under the Planning tab or the Round 1 tab?

message 17: by Natalia (new)

Natalia | 1585 comments Hey checking in.
I'll add some of the books I plan on reading this month. They don't count for any of the bonus points though, so feel free to move them around if you have something that counts.

message 18: by ✨ A ✨ (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments Sarah said its okay if two or more members of a team read the same book as long as they fit two or more prompts. Also buddy read points!

Shout out to buddy read points! I can ask Abby/Sarah to restart a buddy read thread for A Curse So Dark and Lonely (A Curse So Dark and Lonely, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer for us. Would you want to read it starting March 1?

message 21: by ✨ A ✨ (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments @natalia I moved some of your prompts around so they fit better descriptions. just wanted to let you know!

also guys I think that if we pick a book and it does fit the extra points prompts we should highlight the box so others can see... And in case someone else has a book that can get us the extra points : )

message 24: by ✨ A ✨ (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments hey guys. For this prompt : "20. Read 923 pages (can be made up from more than 1 book).
(+5 bonus points if instead, you read a book in less than 9 hours and 23 minutes, (please remember to update on Goodreads when you start and when you finish, for your book to count).)"

It makes more sense if we do the 923 pages. 3 book of 300 (or so) pages + buddy reads = to more points than the second option of reading in 9 hours.

I think this prompt will be perfect for you @natalia to fill in some books that don't fit well in other prompts.
I can take a spot too... I have an ARC that I need to read next month : )

Also, I added The Hazel Wood as a book I could read for #50: read a book with one or more trees on the cover. The bonus points are given for a title that has 'tree' in it, so if anyone is able to find something for the extra points I would be willing to switch!

So what are you guys most excited to read for the challenge? I think Rebel Belle has been on my TBR list for at least two years, so I'm excited to finally get to it. I won't feel guilty about not reading it anymore 🤣

all the books I picked for March I am very excited for because I've been meaning to read them for a while but I'm especially exited for Pestilence (The Four Horsemen, #1) by Laura Thalassa and A Curse So Dark and Lonely (A Curse So Dark and Lonely, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer

@Natalia when I was shifting your books around I checked out Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge and now I really want to read it!!

The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King were so good! And the covers are gorgeous. 😍

@Azrah I'm also really excited to read A Curse so Dark and Lonely. I'm glad that we're reading it first because it's been so hard for me to not pick it up lol. I'm trying to take a break from reading until the challenge starts so I'll feel more motivated! My biggest fear before challenges is that I'll randomly end up in a reading slump. That would be tragic 🤣

message 39: by Natalia (new)

Natalia | 1585 comments I'm glad you all liked The Wicked King. Now I'm even more excited to read it.
I'm finally out if a reading slump and looking forward to reading a lot of books, this challanges always motivate me a lot.

message 40: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Coming out of a reading slump is always the best feeling. Is there something that helps you get out of them? Luckily I haven't been in a reading slump in awhile, but I've never been able to find anything that's helped me get out of them.

message 46: by ✨ A ✨ (last edited Feb 24, 2019 08:03AM) (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments Hi guys so I still need to find a space to read Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge ...and if no one else is able to complete the bonus points for these I can do them :
2. Read a book which has the letters 'L', 'A', 'T', and 'E' in the title or author's name.
(+5 bonus points if your chosen book actually has the word 'late' in the title.) Too Late by Colleen Hoover

27. Read a book with the word 'be' in the title (for beware).
(+5 bonus points if your chosen book actually has the word 'beware' in the title.) Beware the Night by Jessika Fleck

29. Read a book with an item of food on the cover, or in the title.
(+5 bonus points if your book has the word 'cake' in the title and a picture of cake on the cover.) The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert (this would be a re-read for me but I really loved this contemporary romance 💙)

NOTE:
If your book doesn't fit a prompt properly and there is a possibility of someone else gaining the extra points... See if your book can fit in prompts 20 or 33 instead (below)

33. Read 3 books with 200 - 300 pages. (These don't have to all be read by the same person.)

20. Read 923 pages (can be made up from more than 1 book).
(+5 bonus points if instead, you read a book in less than 9 hours and 23 minutes, (please remember to update on Goodreads when you start and when you finish, for your book to count).)

*20. The points gained from reading three separate books of approximately 300± pages will gain us more points than by reading 1 book in 9 hours. (well only if the three books are buddy read then yes the points will be better) And Sarah also confirmed that they don't need to be read by the same person.

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 10122 comments Has anyone read Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole ? Fufills Part 4 #37

Would fill the bonus points req. My only concern is it’s a series still in progress so I don’t know if there are cliffhangers, HEA’s blah blah. But this could work as a buddy read too if anyone would be interested!

message 48: by Klancy (last edited Feb 24, 2019 09:08AM) (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments @Azrah you could read Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge for #19 read a book tagged either 'Dance' or 'Magic'

I have The Hazel Wood (The Hazel Wood, #1) by Melissa Albert down for #44, but it doesn't give us the bonus so I can move it to #20 for the 923 pages. It's 359 pages

message 49: by ✨ A ✨ (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments Thank you klancy!

Yeah I think it's better there. We still might find a book with the word tree.
When you post your review of the hazel wood use this edition https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... it has 336 pages which makes it easier for another teammate to fit their pages in for that prompt 👍

message 50: by ✨ A ✨ (new)

✨ A ✨ (az_youread) | 50 comments For #25 you must read a book that a teammate did not finish.

Here is my dnf list https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... if anyone is interested in reading any of these.
You guys should post yours too!
