I happened to run across this book I had forgotten in the school library I now work in. For anyone else wondering, it was the Lily Quench series.

I read it in 2006/2007 and I remember it was brand new to my school (doesn't mean it was a brand new series necessarily, but new-ish), but first book in the series published no later than 2007. I'm from the UK and I read this in year 5, so book is suitable for children aged 9/10/11 years old.
Probably: I feel like there was also a boy (side character) in the story. And I feel like there may have been alternating POV chapters between the girl and the boy.
I also seem to think the dragons were in a different dimension/place and the girl had to travel from our world to the place where the dragons are. I think the girl flew on the dragons. Not sure about the boy.
Unsure: I think it was a reasonable length series (ie. 5+ books). I also think the first book had the girls name in the title, but I'm really not sure.
