I think it is a book everyone should read, just for the historical/eye opening aspect. Beware - it will not give you a warm fuzzy feeling when you are finished.
Hi everyone! How are we doing - are you having fun with Uno? We have a February mini challenge that starts tomorrow. Thanks for posting! I can't remember, do the mini challenge books need to start when the challenge officially starts, or can we use what we are reading now? The book I am reading, the main character works in the medical field, and became an assistant to the other main character.
We can use any book that was started on/after Feb 1, as long as it is finished after the Mini Challenge officially starts - from 2/14 to 2/28.So, if it won't be completed today, we can use it for the mini and a card! :-)

Hey all. Sorry I haven't been on in a little bit. Tax season essentially just kicked into gear and I have been crazy busy. I just finished the first part of The Beautiful-Ugly and I have a quick question. It is 525 pages with 3 different parts. Can I use each part as a separate book or should I just use it as one book when I finish the book?
Thanks Angie for letting everyone know. I am moving slow. I am horrible at solving mysteries. I really hope everyone else is. It looks like there was a change or a clarification with the rules about what books can be used since there were some questions in the captain's group.

From the rules and the Captain's thread questions:◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be read after the start of this mini challenge on February 14, 7pm AEDST and before March 1 at 7pm AEDST
It looks like that translates to 3:00am EST on 2/14 for the start of the mini.
So, books would need to be finished after that to be used for the mini...provided they were started after 3:00am EST on 2/1.

When I clicked on the books page, I would say 4th since it has both. With 8, I don't believe his title would count. A person's title hasn't counted in the past.

Thought I'd post the spell it out rules since they are slightly different than normal and follow UNO rules. Spell-it-out rules
For this mini-challenge, you are using the same rules that apply for UNO. So a letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, or setting. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles. For this spell-it-out, you can also use the first letter in the series name.
Since we can use Series Name, I can cover the Q unless someone has something planned to read that could be used.I'm flexible, so don't be shy if you want the Q. Lol!

Actually, this is my first team challenge and my first time playing UNO, so I hoping to not let everyone down while trying to figure it out!
How many books do you read a month?
It depends on the month, although I have been trying to read a lot more instead of playing around on my iPad at night before bed. So I would say at least 10 books a month, but perhaps more

The mini challenge is kind of 2 parts. There were 7 tasks to be read and the rest are spell-it out options. To be used for the mini, a book has to have been started after 3am on 2/14. Anything you read from then to the end of the month can be used for both the normal cards and for the mini. The 2nd part is a mystery for us to solve. The story is on the official post and we can request 3 clues, those will be posted on our working spreadsheet at the bottom of the mini challenge page.
I've asked everyone to give us a "hi" or some type of post on Sat or Sun, since we are supposed to check in weekly. And, we have a working version of the team spreadsheet that we do planning an such on. Ora will get you access to that. You don't have to use it, but you are welcome to.

Just do a completion post and Angie and I will add them to the SS. If there is a specific card or task you want you can add it to the SS. A colored coded list is on the February sheet.

The Kiss Thief was okay but then again Romance is not my favorite genre. I read it for a buddy read but it is very light and doesn't go very in depth in my opinion. I didn't really relate to the characters and it seemed to be a trend with most in my buddy read group. However, one of the things that people did like was that it was a quick read and one that was pretty easy to follow.
I will keep that in mind for a Reverse card. We still have two that need to be read for.Have you tried AMMP for buddy reads. This month is science fiction and fantasy. Next month is suspense/mystery/thriller.
