My September read is The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World by Vijay Prashad and I am very much looking forward to this one!
But I am a bit behind on my July and August reads...

Still struggling to finish my September read (50 pages left), the great The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World. A bit weird to read on the military factor in the Third World's history while heavy gunfire today close to my home just lead to a new coup in Burkina Faso....
My October read will be another big book on a previous military regime, again in Burkina Faso: A Certain Amount of Madness, The Life, Politics and Legacies of Thomas Sankara.

I'll be reading "Kroh! Les femmes ont déserté la maison" by Yacouba Traoré, a locally published author in Burkina Faso. I'll add it to the goodreads library.

I will be reading Murambi, le livre des ossements by Boubacar Boris Diop. I am tempted to read it in Portuguese, but I put it in my list in the original French, so be it! It will be good to practice.

Wow that's a big beginning! Have fun :)

Great books already to start this year. Mine is the short story collection African Love Stories: An Anthology by Ama Ata Aidoo, a book that has been on my TBR list for ages and that is full with stories by African women authors.

I just finished my March read, Nós, os do Makulusu by Angolan author José Luandino Vieira. The review is here.

I enjoyed that one, too.

I will be reading Dear Senthuran: A Black Spirit Memoir by Akwaeke Emezi. I have no idea what to expect. I just looks interesting!
Update: Well, it looked interesting at some point. I probably put it in my TBR list because I thought it would deal with orixás. Or thought it would be the memoir of a spirit that had already passed. Either talking to the author or fiction. But now I found out it is the memoirs of a living person. I hope her life is interesting.

Reading L'Ile des dieux by Burkinese author Prince Lamourd Thiobiany this month. Had to add it to the goodreads library.
I'll be reading Distant View of a Minaret and Other Stories by Alifa Rifaat, a short story collection that is on my TBR list for ages. Looking forward!
I enjoyed both Distant Review of a Minaret and The Map of Love. Hope you will like them as much as I did.
June's number is 24. What will you be reading?
Also, during the month of June, you may swap out any books on your list.

I got my review of my May book (A Sociedade dos Sonhadores Involuntários) done. Ready for my first Pepetela read.
I will be reading A Visão das Plantas by Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida.
However, I already flunked this challenge. I have not finished June's book yet.

I will be reading Minaret by Leila Aboulela.
I have also finished my books (but not updated my list) from February (Awu's Story: A Novel), March (The Girl with the Louding Voice), April (The Death of Vivek Oji) and June (Beasts of No Nation). Still need to finish the picks from May (Say You're One of Them) and July (Stay with Me). Getting there!

I will be reading Your Madness, Not Mine: Stories of Cameroon (Volume 70) by Makuchi for my September book. I have only just started August's book (Minaret by Leila Aboulela) and am enjoying it so far. Last week I finished my July book (Stay with Me by Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀).
