I'm still plugging away through May, so assuming I ever get through June, I'll be reading No Fist Is Big Enough to Hide the Sky: The Liberation of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, 1963-74 for July!

I finally finished The Joys of Motherhood by Buchi Emecheta - the receipt from the university library reveals that I took it out in feb 2019(!) so it was about time. Excellent book, even if the content pisses me off royally... More here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

My number 16 is Of Water and the Spirit: Ritual, Magic, and Initiation in the Life of an African Shaman by Burkinese author Malidoma Patrice Somé. Unfortunately, I won't get my copy before November. I'll try and read another book on Burkina Faso instead, and read On Water and the Spirit later.

Considering that I normally read by whim and not by preconceived plan this is quite a lot for me, so thanks a lot, Diane, for hosting this challenge :))!!

That's a great book. We read it as a group read 4 years ago.

I will be reading The Book of Not by Tsitsi Dangarembga, a sequel to her famous Nervous Conditions.

I was hoping for a short and quick read, as April will be a busy month at work and with some other reading to finish, but my number 13 is the 700 pager The Fortunes of Africa: A 5,000-Year History of Wealth, Greed, and Endeavor by Martin Meredith...

Your door stopper - though 700 pages - sounds interesting nevertheless!
My April read will give me the chance to finish January :))
For April I will be reading An Eternity in Tangiers by Titi Faustin which should be an afternoon's read.
