Steph | 109 comments I have a hard copy too but keeping track of things it could switch to is a good idea. There are a few categories I don't think I'll probably end up reading! We will see!

I'm finally going to spend a little time trying to fill in some books (hoping to get some ideas from what everyone else has 😉), and I already see an awesome idea for one I was fretting about. Thank you, Amy, for picking Luffs Luffs (Transcendence, #1.5) by Shay Savage for time travel. That's perfect!!

message 103: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nay, isn't it fun trying to find books to fill the categories? Let me know some you are struggling on and I may have some recs. 😉

Some can be tricky because you might not know the h was an artist, it took place in summer, etc. until you have read it.

message 104: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Oooo Luffs is perfect for the time travel challenge! I'm in for that one!

So, question, are you guys using the same book for some categories or does it have to be different?

message 105: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I need a book set in Pennsylvania.....anyone?

message 106: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Keller (bluejenn116) | 425 comments Jean wrote: "I need a book set in Pennsylvania.....anyone?"

What about A Criminal Defense (Philadelphia Legal #1) by William L. Myers Jr. or Faking It (Losing It, #2) by Cora Carmack or Hidden Riches by Nora Roberts or A Lover's Lament by K.L. Grayson

message 107: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Keller (bluejenn116) | 425 comments I really want to read this A Lover's Lament by K.L. Grayson ...just for the cover alone :-)

I'm using the same book across different challenges but a different one for each category in this challenge.

Okay, thanks, Leslie! I started going through some of them this morning, but I was mainly filling in the ones I knew. I'll definitely be asking when I get to some of them.

Jean--here are some I found on Listopia. I was particularly interested in the Pittsburgh list since Baby Teeth is on it, but when I read further, I found that some of the books on this list are by Pitt authors (like Baby Teeth--I'm not sure what city it's actually set in??), so I'd check those beforehand to make sure:

Set in (or about) PA:

Pittsburgh connections (some are set in Pitt):

Oooh, yes. This was a great book! It was on my best of 2017 list...

message 119: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments It HAS been fun filling in the categories, but I’m stuck on a few and could use some help:

29.) A book about a Librarian
30.) A book about breaking a code or a treasure hunt
52.) A book that takes place in your home state — I need one for Washington!!

Actually, that one will work for me for a book with a form of weather in the title. 😁

For librarian I did The Pisces. It was crazy good but not for everyone. It's satire and not a romance, though it's about a jilted woman. The audio was fantastic and I laughed so hard I cried, but she does some fairly disturbing shit. All her POV.

For the treasure hunt I'm reading The Man in the Black Suit. It's third person and the audio is good but narrated by a man.

I'll see what I can find about Washington! I know I read a Seattle book recently!

Goodnight, Nic takes place in Seattle and I'm pretty sure it was all her POV.

message 124: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments And I posted this a few minutes ago but deleted it somehow. Forever, Interrupted is a Librarian book too if anyone hasn't read it yet!

Nay (4ukcats) Robin wrote: "And I posted this a few minutes ago but deleted it somehow. Forever, Interrupted is a Librarian book too if anyone hasn't read it yet!"

Robin--I forgot you told me that! I was going to read The Librarian Principle by Helena Hunting, but I'm changing it!

message 126: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Amy--here's some lists:

treasure hunts of various types:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8...

romances set in Seattle:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/4...

fiction set in Seattle:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
(One that stood out to me on this list is Geoducks Are for Lovers (Modern Love Story, #2) by Daisy Prescott Geoducks are for Lovers--it's 2nd in the series, but it actually came out first. The first book is about the characters when they all met in college.)

Friend request accepted! 😊 All of the books on my want-to-read shelf are books I already have in my Kindle and Nook library, but I don’t mind buying new ones if I need to. I never mind buying new books. *giggle*

Okay so you have Kristen Proby on your TBR (With Me In Seattle Series) takes place in Washington - so you have that as an option!

Five is a lot! I think you're mostly seeing books everyone is picking to read maybe?

message 137: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Jean, no worries! 5 is great! You have whole year to do 60 books. 😀

My strategy is to try to get the harder categories done first.

Maybe do some shorter books or novellas to knock some off?

message 138: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Okay, i'm calmer now. I saw Michele and Renee's updated lists and was seriously impressed! I like how they have it laid out. I'm thinking I'll edit it monthly?

The Librarian Principle is my librarian book pick

message 140: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yeah, I was going to say that I've only actually read 7. I've just been trying to plan ahead and get some that I plan to read filled in. And I shamelessly copied Michele with most of my formatting and with putting the covers at the bottom.

I found a great book for one with a tree or forest on the cover. I've been waiting for years to read The Sweet Gum Tree, and I'm finally going to do it!
