SOLVED. Y/A fantasy with angels, vampires, etc. [s]

im looking for a series of books i read in 2013. there were 3 books so far, each had multiple stories and i remember the very first story was about a girl who met an angel. she had almost drown in a freezing river and he helped save her? there were also stories of ghosts, vampires, and werewolves. the books were large and all had mostly black covers, the first book's cover had blue accents.

another story i remember was where a girl had a boyfriend that was a vampire and she left her old life to become a vampire and live forever with him.

ive been looking for these books for years! i would greatly appreciate help.

The Night World series by L.J.Smith. The first book in the series is Secret Vampire; the girl has pancreatic cancer, and her best friend, who she is in love with, is a vampire; and converts her.
