Where does this book fit?

i need help with My Year of Rest and Relaxation
my past popsugar prompt is already fulfilled... anyone have any ideas for this book?

I wonder who those "experts" are because both Finns and Scandinavians disagree with them. But what do we know, we only live here. Also Finnish is THE main language in Finland, over 90% of Finns speak it as their native language, and it's one of the reasons why Finland is NOT a part of Scandinavia (culture, history, geography, even mythology are some of the others).

The Last of August (#2 in Charlotte Holmes series)
Suggestions on where they could go?

Have you filled author whose first and last names start with the same letter?

The Last of August (#2 in Charlotte Holmes series)
Suggestions on where they could go?"
will grayson, will grayson can go under a book told from multiple POVs

From the description it looks like The Last of August takes place in winter so if you read it soon-ish it will count for being read in the season it is set in

Will Greyson, Will Greyson for favourite prompt from a past reading challenge ie. lgbtq protagonist from the 2018 list

I'm trying to read all of the Percy Jackson books. Where would Battle of the Labyrinth and the last Olympian fit in?

They are all kind of the same categories:
- should be a movie (except for the first two, of course, since they are actually movies)
- inspired by myth
- involves an imaginary creature
- someone with a superpower
- author w same first and last initials

Lily Collins sings in multiple movies, so you could do "by a musician" if you don't have anything there.
A couple recommendations by celebs/minor celebs, including Lucy Hale.
Did you want to read it last year?
Previous PopSugar: Memoir

How about a book that has inspired a common phrase or idiom? (Some pigs are more equal than others - or just references to Animal Farm.) For me, it would be reread of a favorite, or book that makes you nostalgic, but that doesn't work if you're not old and didn't read it as a child.

Thanks!"

Family prompt

5. A book with at least one million ratings on Goodreads
37. A book with a two-word title (if you disregard the word "the")

30. A book featuring an amateur detective
because the description says:
"...willing to search for a missing mulatto child who has mysteriously vanished into the Oregon woods..."
40. Your favorite prompt from a past Pop Sugar Reading Challenge
because...
In 2017, prompt 35 was "A book set in a hotel"
or 37. A book with a two-word title (if you disregard the word, "the")

I guess it can fit in two prompts :
18. A book about someone with a superpower
36. A ghost story (may be)
.
I haven't read it, so if anyone else can confirm this.

It fits a book featuring an imaginary creature. I think it also fits a book inspired by myth/legend/folklore.

- A book about a hobby (reading for one character, illustration for another)

- A book about someone with a super power
- A book told from multiple POVs
- A book featuring an imaginary creature
- A book featuring an amateur detective (a group is trying to hunt down Dracula and work out his plans)

What about item of clothing on the cover?

Well there's a thought! I was going to find a book where the clothing wasn't actually on the person, so at first I thought no (for the dress) but then I noticed the tiara. A tiara is an article of clothing, right? Or is it jewelry?..."
The full title of the clothing prompt is "a book with an item of clothing or accessory on the cover" - I'd say a tiara is definitely an accessory! :)

-Kindred
-The Parking Lot Attendant
-White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism
-Never Stop Learning: Stay Relevant, Reinvent Yourself, and Thrive
-Exactly What to Say: The Magic Words for Influence and Impact

I would count Mary as an amateur detective, or beekeeping could count as a hobby

The Parking Lot Attendant can be used for debut novel. The author has written a collection of short stories but this is her first novel so I guess it depends on how you interpret the prompt but I think it works.
You can use a book about a family for Kindred or if that doesn't work, I'm sure plenty of celebrities have recommended it so you just have to find one you "admire" ;)

It was also recommended in Reese Witherspoon's book club, if you admire her.

I haven't read this one yet but I do know it is her debut novel, otherwise you could probably fit it in one of the "freebies" (book you meant to read in 2018, book you think should be a movie, book from a past challenge).

A plant on the cover.

Good suggestions - thank you!

I have those prompts covered already, but those work in case I do some rearranging - thanks for the suggestions!

If you end up not having any luck fitting these with the suggestions already made you could do the 'extended' challenge and open up the 'fave prompt from the past' to include all 4 years the challenge has been around (2015-2018).

I used this book for my reread. Did you want to read it in 2018? You could do past challenge for memoir

we've had discussions about that in the "own voices" post! It's a little controversial.
It is my impression that, yes, the actual definition of "own voices" is FICTION, a novel in which one of the characters shares a marginalized identity with the author. However ... the originator of the term has emphasized that the definition is fluid and she did not intend to restrict "own voices" to one particular thing (it had started out applying to only children's books and slowly grew to include all ages).
So, it's up to you, if you want to be a literalist, then it should be fiction, but if you are fine with stretching the prompt to suit your needs, then it can be memoir too.
