Shomeret, is it possible tell if it's unavailable in all libraries in the U.S.?
If so, I would suggest if some of you feel like it requesting that your local libraries purchase it if possible. My library will purchase newer books, meaning now books that came out in 2018.
It's just I love Son of a Tricksterand I'm now reading Trickster Drift, the second one of the series. It's going to be a trilogy. I find Eden Robinson such a gifted writer, so id like to support her.

I requested my library purchase it. We'll see!

That's wonderful! I feel more comfortable if people request that their libraries buy it rather than them having buy it just in case they don't like It!

Now that I know how easy it is to do, I frequently request books. I'm allowed 60 requests to buy a year.

Same here! It's easy to do and the worst that can happen is you don't like the book.
Does your library buy older books. Mine will only order resent releases/ books that came out the year before.
They made an exception with the Tufa series. They only had the first one and the 4th. After I pointed out it was a series they purchased all of them.

Unfortunately, my library said Son of a Trickster cannot be ordered because it hasn't been published in the US. Disappointing! Hopefully, since it's popular in Canada it will be published in the US too.

Bummer! I'm not sure how popular it actually is in Canada. I heard about it from CBC radio and because Eden Robinson is indigenous, there has been lots of coverage on indigenous shows, but I don't think it's popular in a mainstream way.

By the way, I'm probably the last person to know about this place, but Book Depository has international books with free shipping. The book prices are not cheap (equivalent to brand new book at B&N or Amazon), but it's nice to have a resource for those out-of-country books one may not be patient enough to wait for the US release. :-) I splurged for The Loosening Skin by Aliya Whiteley, who wrote one of my 2018 faves, The Beauty.
It's also a way to get an international edition which sometimes has a better cover (and even title). For example, Emmi Itäranta's Kudottujen kujien kaupunki is The City of Woven Streets overseas, but it's The Weaver here in the States. Also, the US cover is sort of white-washed because Eliana, the main character, is described as having brown skin; it's her girlfriend who is pale-skinned, which is who I assume the publisher chose to show on the US cover. So I want to own the UK edition. See covers below

I'm one of those readers who prefers to NOT see actual people on covers. I prefer artwork, and I like to imagine what the character(s) look like for myself and not be constrained by a photograph.

Me too. But I'll probably join in the discussion for Every Heart even though I read it a few years back. I'll actually be reading In an Absent Dream very soon. I love the Wayward Children series!
I put Once Upon a River on hold when it looked like it was going to win, I'm now #97 of 103 (I was 105 of 105), and it looks like our library system has 59 copies, so it'll probably be next month before I'm next in line.
Summer of the Mariposas is held at the library and Fierce Fairytales is in "shipped" status which means it'll be to my library in the next week.
As usual, looks like it's gonna be a great group read.
