Incidentally, I requested to become a librarian mainly to get this done (and for possible future finds), before I knew non-librarians could just make requests here, but I have not heard back. Is it likely that I was rejected (i.e. is it right you just don't hear if that's the case), or does it just sometimes take a long time?

Combined.

In this case, the German edition was added in 2012, and the Danish edition in 2010. Someone entered the original title in 2010 to the Danish edition.
The Icelandic Kindle edition wasn't on GR until 2016. It was imported from Amazon, and these imports don't combine based on the original title field.
Unless someone is working on that author, or someone makes a request to combine them, like you did, they will stay separate.
