2019 Team Competition Tracker/Google Sheet Central
@Virginie: Maybe we should protect the first 15 rows of everyone's sheet... I looked into the rules, and we don't have to block access, we can just make a warning appear anytime people try to mess with it...
Might be annoying when people go to change things like we've done, but it will protect the calculations (obviously, it's in the name :)

Don't know if i can just copy-paste that in, so I'd rather not try and possibly mess something up... Thank you :)

I wanted to do this when we were first setting up the spreadsheet but protecting the cells means you get a warning every-time you open the hidden rows. Apparently, showing/hiding grouped rows is considered a modification... :/

Done! Copy-pasted with only a small modification of the formula :)

Oh... that's annoying...
Oh... that's annoying...

Fixed :)

Done :)

I know all the spreadsheet experts are busy so I'm not expecting anyone to rush on this since its not critical but if any of you are feeling bored in the next month or two...
Thanks 😊

Iain created a series tracker for himself on his scoresheet, so it's def possible. I'll take a look when I have some time, or maybe Iain'll be faster. Anyway, we can do it! :)

Brilliant thanks Virginie!!

Haha pies in any form are always a winner!! I honesty don't mind which form the series tracker takes. Whoever has the time/inclination to do it can do with my spreadsheet whatever they want 😊

No problem... just trying to make the fix easier on you in the future...

TY!

Also I moved around on my sheet and that Monthly Progress graph broke. I took one look at the formula and said "nope!" Too advanced for a spreadsheet peasant like me. Would it be possible for someone to fix it? :D

I think the SUM formula has problems with the text that is also in your cells (BR:, Challenge:, Points: etc...). I edited it and everything should work now :)

Thank you so much! Yeah that was my conclusion too but I wasn't sure because odds were pretty high it was something I did that made it not work xD But thanks for making it work! :D

I mean, I don't want to throw a tantrum it's a competition just for fun after all, but I don't think it makes sense that way...

Didn't Chris sign up before 2019, and was overlooked somehow? So technically, he was on Blood Eagles team from the beginning, and the team never really reached 100% participation..?
I agree with you otherwise.

No, he asked to join in the sign up thread after christmas and as the draft already happened...

You dragged column R down to like 1 pixel... the solution was to highlight column Q, hit Ctrl-C to copy, highlight columns Q thru S with shift-click, right click and Paste Special -> Column Widths Only to make column R big enough to manipulate, then adjust the column widths until the graph fits in it's spot again... i also went ahead and hid column Q... there's not much point in seeing it, since it's purely a helper column for other formulas...

Well, that's still before the start of the competition, but since no one knew about it, it's the same as him joining 'late', I guess.
I thought he signed up earlier, and was overlooked during the draft announcement (since Blood Eagles had one/two less member than the rest). My bad.

Could someone take a look at my spreadsheet? What should I put in columms that don't apply to my book?

Leave them blank.
Soo's already hit the 10k page milestone, in 12 days... that took me, Choko, and Julia 24-26 days, last year, I think... altho Julia's on her way to being faster than last year, as well, with 7500 pages already...

that's impressive!
Tome Raiders seems to be the team this year. others have 1-2 members who are reading a lot as of now but Tome Raiders has been a team effort so far..

It's going pretty well for now. I try to vary the story styles to keep it interesting. Even with the audio penalty, most of those books are 300 pages & doable in a day-ish.

Yea... until I reminded Karishma she was supposed to be focusing on her accounting studies :(
Definite team effort, tho... I've liked how close the competition has been, so far... we'll see if that continues since House of Chains picked up an extra team member... or once all the Jaghuts start participating (they've had the lowest participation for awhile now, despite equal point gains to the rest of the teams)

That's what happened with Julia once she finished reading/re-reading the entire Harry Potter series, last week...

Soo is keeping us afloat.. :D
but we have four people who hit 1K+ last year, so I guess we still have 10 months and hope for us to pick up speed. :D

LoL
Great for a nice strong push for the start. Haha
I think Julia will totally kick my butt later. =)

Eek! Not accounting. That was the old course - no more accounting thank you very much.
And I'm very grateful for the reminder Iain. And it's not like I could have continued with 400 pages per day for the whole year. Especially with my classes now going on properly.
I manage 350-425 pgs/day... I did 138k or so last year, in 365 days... I was lagging behind at the start of this year, but it's picked up from reading easy books like Super Powereda and Sued for Peace at 2x speed... and some 5-star books I can't put down... then you have Julia & Soo reading 750-950 pgs/day...
I think comparing my scores & Yanique's is interesting... we're 3rd & 4th at the moment with very similar scores... both read about 5500 pages... mine are mostly audio BRs... hers are mostly non-audio non-BRs... that 25% non-audio bonus to page points and Challenge points evens out to the BR bonus... similar to how differently Soo & Julia were earning their similar points, early on... the competition is so much more flexible this year...
It's always going to take a lot of effort to overcome a non-audio BR-only reader, but for middle-ground participants, there should be a lot more variation this year, I think...

Is it just me, or does having SPARKLINE graphs on your sheet make your totals update faster?...
Maybe it's just the time of the day I do most of my updates, but I feel like I never have the delay issues that others do... can anyone else with extra SPARKLINE graphs comment?... the ones we added for book size or series progress / etc...

FIXED... in the future, if you notice you did something wrong, hit the undo button... it's the circular back arrow in the top-left... it's also usually in the Edit menu, or you can hit Ctrl-Z...
The more advanced way I fixed this, was I clicked on the "Last edited XX minutes ago text and looked for an old version of your sheet... then I clicked the 3 dots for more actions, and made a copy of that older version to My Drive"... then I added 4 rows you were missing (blank) and copied the missing rows from my copy... the only reason I did it this way, is because this sheet has so many tabs, and just reverting to an old version might delete any books people have added in the past 3hrs...
NOTE: I figured this out after telling Karishma about reverting to old versions... DON'T use that feature on this sheet, guys... my bad...
