Thanks for putting this together... After this, I just couldn't resist re-reading Lonestar & Dickens today. So good! Next up, a some Jake & Adrien 😁

Let's have some fun..."
I gotta say that Dickens with Love is my first, best love of Josh's Christmas stories.

Going back through the topic I sense a theme, here. Could it be that basically all of Josh's Christmas stories are favourites? ;-)

Would it really surprise you? ;)
I mean, look where we are. :D

Most definitely! :-)

I love his narration for this one. Captures everything so well.

No wonder, you like it! :)

And thanks for playing everyone! See you here next Sunday when we'll light the third candle.
You all are too much fun! Or having too much fun... or there's no such thing as too much fun.
Congratulations, winners!
Sunday was spent finishing semester grading, but I took the furry friends quiz today and scored 100%. I guess I've read all of them at least twice. And as for The Dickens With Love, like Johanna I read it twice a year.

Thanks, Barbra, for letting me know. In that case I'll throw it back and let it feed and grow for some time more. Maybe it's a bit bigger next time we fish it out of the pond. ;-)

Wonderful! You know your Christmas stories very well, then. You passed the mission. ;-)

Raffle time! So, tell me...
Have you already put up a tree and decorated the halls? What's your favourite part about decorating the Christmas tree?
Which of the characters in Josh’s books would you kiss under the mistletoe? ...and let’s talk about the not so obvious ones since basically everyone wants to be kissed by Adrien or Jake, right? ;-)
Also, we have here a fine selection of Christmas trees. Which of the trees do you like best? Is this how you would trim your tree? :-D

Today we raffle away:
* three audiobook codes (for Audible UK, should also work for participants overseas) and
* one copy of Josh's Merry Christmas, Darling! via Smashwords
Winners will be announced tomorrow around my 8 p.m.
At the same time we'll have a little something up in anticipation of the release of The Ghost Had an Early Check-out.
And if you happen to have a photo of your own Christmas tree we'd love to see it here! :-)

As for who to kiss, well, aside from AE of course, it would be Kit. I just love that guy!
P.S. I already have Merry Christmas, Darling! so if by some chance I get it, please, give it to someone else.

Red and gold is lovely! And the white and silver one looks elegant, yes? Good choice. :-)

LOL A Star Trek Christmas, but, yes, you're right. It looks a lot futuristic and space-like. I thought it was a clever way to solve the problem of them trees taking up too much space...
The mini-trees... we do this too once in a while and then plant them in the garden in spring. Some survive. That's the reason there is a small pine tree forest growing outside... :-D

The part I like the most about decorating the Christmas tree is the end, when I get to turn on the lights and see the final result. The rest of the process usually involves snuggling on the couch with a blanket, my Kindle and a cup of tea. :)
When I was a kid I loved putting on the chocolate decorations. My mom used to buy these chocolate decorations shaped like Santa, a reindeer and other Christmas-related shapes to put on the tree, then we'd spend the holidays stealing one of them from the tree now and then. They were usually all gone before Christmas. :D
The first picture is beautiful, but I would go with tree E, very colorful and festive and the rainbow theme seems particularly appropriate. :)
Character to kiss under the mistletoe...Kit, definitely Kit.
We're talking about a kiss on the cheek of course, right? :P

I can't have a real tree in the apt, so usually it's just a bit of very light decorating, but this year I felt a tree was necessary, as it were, so now there's (a fake) one, and it looks quite nice. There's a silver garland, colored lights, and a couple of ornaments. I think I'll keep it up even after the holidays (though now i'm wondering how to eventually dust it, lol).

Cool! Did they have that nice pine scent? Sounds lovely either way. :-)

I love the chocolate decorations! :-) I mean, it's chocolate, just hanging there, all shiny, waiting...

Exactly! Who can resist that? ;)

My mom would decorate the tree (AKA the "Chanukah Bush") with candy canes and I would surreptitiously (I thought) suck on the candy canes and put them back on the tree. She knew better than to try to decorate with chocolate.
OK, I admit it. I still steal candy canes from Christmas trees. I just don't put them back on partially eaten.

Oh, the tree E looks nicely rainbow-ish! :-)
My childhood Christmas tree used to be decorated with entirely sea blue decorations (and idea my Dad had). Nowadays my tree is leaning towards read, gold and silver.

That made me laugh! And nod. As kids we're sometimes oblivious to what others will perceive and what not and we think we're being sneaky. :D

Tree C seems to be in high demand!
I like the idea of every ornament having a story. I have some like that.
The ex took his balls (!)
*snicker**blush* Couldn't help myself.

My parents had them when I was little, like two or three, and there are actually photos of a tree full with tinsel and burning candles! The thought!

Yes, another one for tree C. :)
Oh, and isn't it so pretty with the shiny tree, all festive and mild. I love those evenings.

Blue is a new idea. We also lean more towards the traditional red, gold and green or red and silver. This year's tree will be light green and gold, though.
Due to the long draught this year around here, the tree are extraordinarily dry. We've got hours freshly cut from the plantation. In fact standing next to it when it was cut. And it's so dry, barely any juice in the wood. Have to be careful with this one.

But I just thought about a present I've got once: http://dosmanos.com/product/nut-shell...
(mine is even nicer).
And I love the rainbow christmas tree.

I started using an artificial tree years ago because my middle son had respiratory issues and the pediatrician recommended it - he was right.
My step-mom was a bit too Martha Stewart for me, every year she picked a different color theme for decorating the house. My stuff is more of a mishmash, stuff that has memories attached :)
Kissed by one of Josh's characters? I don't have to think twice - I'll pick TUCKER!
Tree C is the closest, but much fuller at the bottom than what would fit in usual spot. Our trees often resemble Charlie Brown’s, a bit bedraggled with a hodgepodge of ornaments made or collected over time. We maybe hang about a quarter of what we have. I like piñon trees or blue spruce. We’ve tried a few live trees over the years, but only one survived.
We’ll probably get our tree tomorrow.
Kissing? Perry, on the cheek, and a hug for Nick.
