Pick for Me Challenge!!!

Come one, come all! It's fun... really!!!

1. Create a new shelf, or update the existing shelf on your Goodreads profile, that includes approximately 20 books that you would like to have someone else use to pick a book for you to read. Label it "Pick For Me." Only books from this designated shelf will be selected for this challenge, (no matter how badly some of us want to pick something else)!

2. Post in this thread that you want to participate this month.

3. Provide the link to your Pick For Me shelf, (this will make it a bit easier for all parties involved... unless you all really *want* to read Backstage Pass. *a new month, a new pick from me!*)

4. On the December 1st, someone...the hand of fate, maybe, will use the randomizer to pair up everyone. (Or worst case scenario, Grey will pick for everyone, and you *know* what that means, *shifty eyes*)

5. Friend your partner who is picking for you or set your profile to public or your partner will not be able to access your shelf.

6. Post your selection for your partner in this thread.

7. Come back after finishing the book selected for you by your partner (even if it's after the month has ended) and let everybody know what you think about it.

**The sign up period will remain open until pairs are posted on December 1st and you'll have until December 5th to select a book for your partner.**

Sample shelf: Grey's Pick For Me

Well, it's been 3 days worth. I've got the worst headache, honestly. But it was beautiful! <3

Oh wow! Does she perform again today? Or do you get a break? Maybe pop some Excedrin and see if you can kick that headache! I don’t doubt it was beautiful...and you’ll look back on the performances fondly but when you’re in the moment, it’s overwhelming sometimes...

Wow, Michele, you've got several in your PFM list that I would pick for you. This is very difficult!!! I truly have 3 that I would throw at your right now, depending on what mood you're in.

The Pebble Jar, is a YA, however, don't let that put you off..it deals with heavy subject matter and in such a beautiful and poignant way. It's brilliant. But then you have The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson... that book was brilliant. Just absolute brilliance. AND THEN... you threw some napalm no your list, as if you didn't have another dynamite. Exaltation of Larks... this book. If you can handle heavy heavy, chewy you up and spit you up books... this one. If I had to choose... and I guess i do, I'd choose Larks,
But let me know if it's not working out for you and we'll pick you a different one!

Thanks Grey! I’ve been trying to work my way towards An Exaltation of Larks (Venery, #1) by Suanne Laqueur for a while so here’s my shot!

message 24: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments I’m pretty sure the purpose of this challenge is to reduce our TBR list...not add to it. Oh well, I added to mine while going through Tessa’s list to pick her book....yep. So Tessa I pick for you Unknown (Unknown #1) by Wendy Higgins . It looks intriguing to me so I’m basically using you as my book guinea pig...I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

message 25: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Keller (bluejenn116) | 425 comments I feel so much pressure as I’ve never done this before and there is only one book on Nay’s that I’ve even read and now so many I want to add like this one right here that I pick for her....yep like Michele I’m using you as my book guniea pig ❤️

A Crack in Everything (Cracks Duet, #1) by L.H. Cosway

message 26: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Thanks, Jenn! I heard that book was awesome, and I've loved all the other L. Cosway books I've read.

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments Hey ladies ..I just talked to Renee ...shes in the ER ...she’s broken her tibia and they’re going to be doing surgery ...not a lot more detail than that so far. She wanted me to pick a book for Jean...which I’ll do when I get home ...and I wanted to be sure you all knew so you can send prayers, positive vibes, well wishes, etc her way...

message 42: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Oh nooooooooooooo, Michele. That's just horrible. I will definitely be sending prayers and positive thoughts and warm heart hugs out into the world for her. When you hear more, please let us know, and tell her we love her to bits and pieces and if there's anything we can do, let us know.

message 43: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Oh no!! I hope everything is ok. I don't know if her transplant makes surgery a risk.

message 44: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Keller (bluejenn116) | 425 comments Omg-she can’t catch a break-sending prayers-hugs-her way! I hope surgery goes well♥️

Kulti and Lick. Kulti is a slow burn romance, but I loved it far more than Wall of Winnipeg. Lick is HILLARIOUS. :) I picked Punk 57, though, because of not just how it hit me, but how it hit so many other people. It wasn't expected and that's what made me love it.

message 50: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments She’s been texting...bless her heart. Sounds like they are transferring her to Vanderbilt but she’s not sure if they’ll do surgery tonight or tomorrow. She’s in a lot of pain...i think they have her on morphine but she said it’s hardly touching it...I don’t know enough about post transplant patients... but I wonder if they are being super cautious in the ER with her dosages. Hopefully when they get her to Vanderbilt, they’ll get a better handle on it! I’ll pass along anything I hear!
