We are neck and neck!I am reading The Black Tulip for my black/white task. I just checked out the group read from March of 2018. I do not remember why I did not read this one with the group. I saw your question to Renee about why she was a huge Dumas fan. I would have answered the same. I read The Count of Monte Cristo when I was in High School. The book from our library had like 1200 tissue paper thin pages. I loved it!
My daughter discovered the audiobooks last year and listened to them all! She loved The Man in the Iron Mask.
Did you ever get around to reading any of them?
I don’t know why you didn’t read that book with us either.I got totally turned off by the number of pages. Dom loved The Count as well but I just cannot see myself investing the time in those books.
I should finish The Lost Boy tomorrow and then I’ll be at 35 books!

It's a great book, you should one day try to read it even if it takes a month to finish it.
I went back to see what I read in March of 2017. I guess I was totally focused on the yearly challenge. I chose to read Goodnight June as an alternate Historical Fiction choice, instead of The Black Tulip. I know that I ended up buying a copy of the ebook from Barnes & Nobel, but it was not until after the group read. (It must have been on sale.). I just finished reading all of the spoilers from the group read. Some of yours really cracked me up! I did spend some time looking up Dutch history and politics of the time, and the historical characters. I listened to a really good lecture on what it meant to be the Stadtholder and who William of Orange was.
