I'm a slow poke. We decided to do a challenge for a quilt called "Omigosh". The other two are finished. I'm nowhere close and complain about it endlessly. Now, one of my friends wants to do one called "Gypsy Wife". I want to abandon the Omigosh and start this one.

I'm going to do what my one friend does. She has about 3 big projects on the go. When she gets bored with one, she switches to another. I have two on the go - Omigosh, Cake Mix, and now I'll start Gypsy Wife.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I like your new picture!

I know you and Dom are planning to read Red Sparrow together. I saved this audiobook for last, from all of the ones I got from my library two weeks ago. I started it two days ago and like it but the Russian names are impossible to keep up with and I was totally lost in the story. I downloaded the ebook from my library today and restarted the audiobook. I bumped up the speed to 1.25 and can follow along quite nicely. I'm at 35% through already. MUCH better!
I can't wait to hear what you think of the story.

Jannene | 3124 comments Thanks Cherie! I got my hair done yesterday. This is the longest it has been in over 10 years, I think.

My dad would rename characters if he couldn’t keep up or pronounce them in his head. I thought that was ingenious!

We probably would have been on that book by now but I was reading pretty slowly lately. She’s already 1.5 books ahead of me. I just finished our book read Six Years and she is already on our next read Ready Player One. She gets some of the audio versions and listens to them at work. I hope I don’t have the same experience as you did since I have that book in paperback. Maybe I’ll have to rename them!

I checked all the pages lengths of the books before selecting them for the challenge.

It was very good. I want to finish that series but like you. There are too many! I just emailed Dom that I am trying to finish the series where I have just 3-4 left on them. I can then tackle the bigger ones.

7. Realistic Fiction seems like real life, with characters dealing with real life problems. The book I Know A Secret could very well have been real. The detective is trying to find out a murder with many twists and turns. This is much like real life as they are always trying to solve murders or missing people. The secret revolves around a 9 year old girl who comes up missing and what ends up happening to her.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Oh, I know which book I'll be reading next! I don't think I have a book selected for that category yet. I have read all of the other books in that series and killed it off at some point. I will be reading it as an orphan. In my head, the actress who played Rizzoli in the TV show is the person that I identify with for Angie.

This was one of my orphans. I had hoped that Janice would accept this book for this task. It wouldn't fit elsewhere. May want to make sure she's okay before you complete it. ;)

I was going to use the current group read book, Salt to the Sea for this task though. It is on the list that she gave as a tool.
