Side links are missing, although you can find them if you scroll further down. Search function isn't working, either. :(
Scroll down - they're at the bottom.
Something went haywire with the layout and it's pushing everything into one long column rather than two side by side columns.
Search function is working for me.
Pandemic Goodreads. Takes 7 months to get anything fixed.

Search function still isn't working properly. It might bring up a few results, but not all the lists that actually exist.
For example, searching

Doesn't bring up the Shades of Purple list.
The search function on this group is completely out. Has been for 3-4 days, but nothing ever gets fixed on the weekends. Maybe tomorrow, hopefully.

New results will come up, but nothing from longer ago than 5 days. This is across all groups and Listopia. This is really terrible for a group like ours, which relies on being able to search threads from years past.
It's unclear to me whether they are trying to rebuild it, or if this is permanent.

I searched for the word "nice" and got

I have semi-good news. If you "bump" a Listopia list by voting on it, the search engine will be able to find it again.
I don't think this works for group discussions, though.

I bumped that list and added the "nice" tag. It should come up now.
Does GR staff normally respond to bug threads in the NewFeedback area? They haven't responded to the bug report threads.
I recall the search index going down in years past and having to be reindexed.
Here's one instance from 2013, for example:

Search index is still broken. I hope they are working on a fix. This is pretty inconvenient when it comes to groups in particular.
I'm also annoyed because tags are being systematically deleted from Listopia for no apparent reason. I assume the site is deleting the "ya" and "teen" tags because I keep adding them back to my lists, and they keep disappearing.

I reported the person in question, but I am getting so sick of censorship and cancel culture. Someone doesn't like an author or their work, they decide they're going to erase all evidence of it. The book was in the top 10 on the list. I voted it back, but all the other people who voted for it had their votes erased due to one person's unjustified moral crusade.

This is also weird because American Dirt is in the running for Best Fiction in the Goodreads Choice Awards. It's not like the site as a whole has renounced the book. And it's obviously of interest to readers of color, given that the main characters are POC.

Heck, I've written to Goodreads management and only been ignored for the most part. The only time action was taken was when a rogue Librarian deleted the entire YA Novels of 2019 list because of a personal vendetta. And that was after several months of flagging the same person for improper deletions. They only took action when that person destroyed a list with thousands of votes.

A recent list of mine that might need some more work - Anthropomorphic / Personified Flowers and Plants. Obviously there are a bajillion Flower Fairy books that could be added (I just added one, The Complete Book of Flower Fairies, partly because I couldn't be bothered and partly so as not to swamp the list), but I wonder if there are some more obscure ones out there that I've missed?

I just added Through the Looking-Glass!

Thank you! That's a great one, can't believe I didn't think of it.

Similar problem in Trivia. If you've created more than 100 pages of trivia questions, (or answered more than 100 pages worth), you can't see beyond that. This is an absolute disaster, since now I can't see most of my questions. 10 questions to a page means I can only see 1,000 of my questions. I've created 25,204.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if this is something permanent. A few years ago they stopped allowing you to view all the shelvings of a book. Now for many books you can only view reviews, and ratings, but not shelvings which have been neither reviewed nor rated.
Occasionally there is some kind of workaround, e.g. in the URL replace "100" with some higher number, but that isn't working in this case.
This is horrifying.

You can use this page to contact GR and ask for an explanation. They will email you a response (at least, they say they will).

Many older family lists can be found under the kin tag.

It's worrying that they are doing this, although I mostly use tags and the search feature to find lists. I don't usually browse from the front page. But if I wanted to, it's annoying to know that I couldn't.
Listopia is like the ugly stepsister on GR. Well, technically there are many of these - parts that management just doesn't care about. I realized this when they stopped having listopia votes go into your feed, several years ago. It used to be that whenever you voted on a list, it would go into your feed and your friends and followers would see it and sometimes be inspired to vote too. So basically GR is not interested in having anyone know about listopias. No publicity, no buzz.

I don't know about lists, but there's at least 1 author with this. It's Unknown. For the last 3-4 years I've been wading through the large number of books that lost their data in the big software change-over about 10 years ago. They had been organized by numbered author. Like "Unknown Author 325" for example. After a while I was suffering from a bit of burnout, so I took a break for a few months. When I came back to start up again, I found that all the numbered Unknown Authors had been dumped into the single Unknown listing. After a bit of mental teeth grinding, I started back in on them. I discovered that there was now a huge number of books under this author. The listing had a 100 pages and I suspect there were many, many more. I figured out I could go the 2nd or higher page and change the 'per page' number to 999. Recently that no longer works. I can't load more than 100 no matter what. That means that even if I get to page 100 of the current list there are still 1,000s more I can't access. Hmmph!

Has anyone reported this to GR management? I wonder if it's a bug or a feature.
It's probably a feature, but it's unacceptable.
The GR list of characters (meaning, fictional characters added to book metadata) is now so large that 100 pages of it only gets you to "Aleksey", or halfway through "A."
Even though they're doing it intentionally, people need to protest. If no one says anything, they assume no one cares.

Also, when I try to give feedback on the new Beta page all it does is link to my e-mail account.

And the notice about it keeps popping up on every single book page. Like please don't remind me you're going to destroy the perfectly good page format, thanks.

This is the "contact us" page. I bookmarked it because I thought they might try to make it hard to find.

OK, I've sent a message about the limited page load amount. I also stumbled into a page on the problems with the Beta page feedback. Link below.

Thanks for sending me invites! ;-)

They've fixed it for the 'Unknown' author listing. Y'all might want to check the other lists that were too short.
