A contract is a binding exchange that includes an offer, acceptance of that offer, and something of value that's been bargained for: money, goods, services, your immortal soul, a kingdom, etc.

Calling for fantasy books with contracts! Maybe it's a contract for protection from a Dragon, or to assasinate a ruler, steal something precious, or for a political marriage or tithe. Maybe you made a foolish vow, or a promise to the fairies or the gods. Perhaps you offer your services for sale, or made a wager. As long as it's sealed, bought, or sworn, we have a deal!
