Lucy waved back and watched him leave, walking up the front porch to her home as Jeff's shadow disappeared.
Lucy cautiously entered her house. All of find thanks were off, thank God. She sneaked into her room at the back of house on the first level and locked herself inside. Her head rested against the cold surface of the wooden door as a loud exhale escapes her lungs.
Lucy changed into her nightgown and unbraided her her. Sitting in front of her dressing table, she combed through her long hair one hundred times like her mother taught her. Her reflection in the mirror seemed to say, 'you're a freak.' Lucy sighed and buried her face in her arms.
The horsemen surrounded him before he realized what was going on. The lead horseman motioned for him to get on the horse that he was leading. Jeff could only mount the horse as he was instructed and he was led away at a trot.
Jeff's mind raced "What did these men want with him and would anyone come to look for him?" Jeff hell to the saddle horn and held on as the horse was led deeper into the woods.
Jeff woke as the sun rose. He was on the cold ground and the memories from last night flooded back into his mind. He gave a start when he heard a rifle shot. He sat up bolt upright and the men around the camp turned on him and told him to sit still. Soon a man came into camp carrying a deer haunch. "Breakfast" the man announced and sat sown at the fire as another man began to cook the food.
A loud knock on her front door startled Lucy awake. She groaned and got herself up, rubbing her eyes. The knocking became louder.
Jeff watched as the men roasted the meat but they did not share it with him and his stomach growled as the meat was being cooked.
Lucy wrapped herself in a robe and answered the door. Where were her parents? As soon as she opened the door, Lucy was grabbed.
Jeff shivered from the cold but said nothing to the rough men that had kidnapped him. Luckily he had gotten Lucy home safe that night he thought to himself.
The men were ready to ride again and the told Jeff to mount up to. When he was mounted they tied his hands to the saddle before they rode out.
Jeff didn't know how far they had gone but it was further than he was used to going. his legs and body was sore from the long ride.
A group of men grabbed Lucy and dragged her through a cluster of tents. She was in some kind of camp.
Jeff was roughly pulled from the saddle and throw to the ground. "Where is she?" the leader asked him.
Lucy was thrown into a tent and locked inside. She bit her lip to fight back tears as she hugged her knees to her chest.
Jeff shook his head "Where is who" he asked the man struck his head hard with the pistol. "Tell me or I will kill you" the man said.
"Who do you want" Jeff cried out "The necromancer fool" the man growled. Jeff shook his head "the what?" he asked.
Lucy was started out of her thoughts as someone tried to her in her tent. Her breath caught in her throat as her heart slammed against her chest.
"We will find her" the man growled,"we know she is close to here and you have her scent on you. So I ask you again where is she"?
A man jumped into her tent, his arms up against his chest as to say he won't harm her. "I'm Ben. I won't hurt you." He said calmly. Lucy didn't say anything.
"Don't touch me." Lucy snapped at the man as he neared. " you're cheek. It's bleeding." Ben said. Lucy touched her cheek and sure enough, it was.
Jeff could only shake his head in confusion. The man growled and kicked him hard in the ribs. One of the other men spoke "Maybe he doesn't know anything."
Jeff shuddered as the men argued shouting something about a Necromancer what ever the hell that was. The leader kicked him once more then the men rode off leaving him wounded, lost and alone.
Lucy let to man clean and bandage her wound, wincing slightly. She took this opportunity to study him. He didn't look a year over thirty, with smokey black and and sharp features.
Jeff stood after he was sure the men were gone. He was sure that at any moment they would be back. He turned and ran wincing at his injuries.
"Why am I here?" Lucy asked when Ben finished up. Been knitted his brows together in confusion. "Didn't they tell you?" Lucy shook her head. Ben was about to explain himself, but a voice called for him. "I'm sorry, I must go." He offered a small smile and ducked out of the tent.
Jeff ran through the woods not knowing where he was going. Through the trees up ahead he could see a camp. he slowed to a walk and peered at the camt through the trees.
Lucy sat alone in the tent, hugging herself from from the cold. Her head whipped around when she hurt rustling outside.
Jeff saw the camp was large and he wondered if that was were the men that took him had gone. He kept his distance and watched the camp warily not knowing if they were friend or foe.
