I'm so excited, too!
Slytherpuff, I'm all for you being Captain.
I told my husband that we needed a team name with the number 5 in it, and he said, "Um, Oceans 5?" After snorting out a laugh, I decided I liked it. We're here to steal the win!

Honestly I’m not good with team names
We have seven players so fantastic fives won’t work.

I am terrible at names. Oceans Five is funny, but the best part of it is the Ummm. So we'd have to be "Umm, Oceans Five?" :D
Allison Ann wrote:...you'll probably get sick of me I'll be around so much."
I think we should all check in at least 2 or 3 times during the week, to give updates on our reading and to encourage the other members of our team.

Slytherpuff, I live in Arizona, which is Mountain Standard Time. It would only be 10:00 my time when it's possible to roll. Let me know if you ever need me to do that.
Also, do you have a format you would like us to use when we post our selection and completion posts?

Allison, do you have some series that you've picked out to read? I made a huge list about a week ago. I can't wait to begin.
Is anyone else going to try to earn the bonus points?

I have some series. If you’re okay with me doing some of the alternatives because I hate reading series out of order.
I’m EST so I’m one hour ahead.

Ooooh, I'm going to have to make a list myself. I never thought about doing that … it would definitely help the selection process go faster :)

Is anyone else going to try to earn the bonus points?"
I'm absolutely going to try for bonus points. I'm torn on which one to try for right now - the read only series numbers (which is what I usually do anyway) or the read a whole series (I have the first nine books of this series

I may do the Halloween bonus if I find something at the time.

Depending on numbers ruled I may be able to do 3 books from a series.

Are we set with our team name?

Slytherpuff wrote: "I think we should go for the free pass."
Absolutely.
I'm sure I won't need to choose a book from the alternate list.

Great. Should we submit our team name?!
So turns out the mod wasn't paying attention when writing up the bonus point requirements, so here's an update to the starting and finishing a series bonus. What it was meant to say is:
✸ One point can be earned for starting and finishing a series. There must be at least 4 books in that series. Series + spin-off totalling ≥4 books also counts. For series with >9 books, point will be awarded for reading books 1-9.

Oh shoot, and I have a bunch of trilogies on my TBR that are either almost finished or ready to start. Guess I need to do a deeper dive into my series list. I probably won't be much help with the bonus points!
ETA - I do have a four book series that's two books away from being done, so maybe I can get through that one.
A whole trilogy will do just fine for the "read 3 or more books from the same series" bonus though. ;)
Marty wrote: "I do have a four book series that's two books away from being done, so maybe I can get through that one."
Remember that ≥4 books series needs to be read in its entirety as part of the challenge if you're going for that bonus point, so a series you've already started previously won't work.

With all players checked in and a sizeable list of back-ups, I'm making some last minute additions to the smaller teams.
Lexi will be joining you.

Second question since I am new, do I need to review books or just post them on here?
Lexi wrote: "Also, for the bonus point on alternates, is it the whole team or one person never using alternatives?"
I believe that the bonus points are earned individually, but they can only be earned once. Not by each member of the team. Which is why we were talking about who might try for which bonus point. Slytherpuff might have to correct me if I'm mistaken. If you think you would like to go for a bonus point, now's the time to speak up.
"Second question since I am new, do I need to review books or just post them on here?"
According to the rules, you'll need to leave at least a 3 sentence review of your book when you post your completion post.
