Review: This is the 8th book of the Aisling Grimlock series. Aisling and her family are reapers; they collect the souls of the dead. However, strange things keeping happening to them, which all seems to tie back to their resurrected mother. In this book, people in the town are becoming excessively violent during thunderstorms. Aisling thinks something in the storms are causing it and is determined to prove it. I enjoy the banter of this series. Having 5 siblings arguing every book is entertaining. Amanda Lee enjoys writing snarky books with fast paced dialogue, though the plots are fairly predictable. I will be continuing this series.

This one surprised me. I've had it on my TBR for quite a while and have actually borrowed it from the library a couple times, but never actually read it until now. It started off a bit slow and felt rather disjointed at first, with very brief scenes; however, once Olivia finds out about her birth parents, the pace (and my interest) picked up significantly, especially once she gets to Cainsville. I found myself very interested in the investigation into the murder and did not want to put the book down. The only negatives to me were really the slow start, and I'm also not sure how I feel about Gabriel yet. I will definitely be reading the next book, probably sooner rather than later!

Ah. Just knew she had a werewolf family named Cain. At least it means I don't have to rush to read it :)

This was a category romance and read just like one. Not that that made it un-ejoyable. For what it was, it was good. This was a bodyguard trope and fairly predictable straight down the line, no surprises. But the characters were well developed and I liked their interactions. The smexy scenes were steamy and not overly explicit. My one issue was how the way the MCs finally had sex for the first time played out. It was after the Big Misunderstanding and ended up being 'angry sex' goaded on by the heroine and her actions were kind of cruel to the hero. It worked for the story in the end, I guess, but I kind of wish we'd have gotten a less angry version between them after the MCs worked everything out. I do like this author, I've read other works that weren't necessarily category and I'll keep reading her.

Review: well first book in this series by this author and her style didn't jive with me. Could be the historical part, how it was written or the fact that I jumped in in the middle of the series. We meet Orlando Coppersmith, who is mourning his dead lover, Jonty, that he lost during the war. He is requested to look into the 'death' of another soldier where the mother doesn't believe he is dead. He is happy to have something to wrap his brain around. along the way we learn about Jonty as well as the war. While I found bits interesting and I liked the MC's I felt the book took forever to get to the point, which I figured out in the first 20% of the book. At 228 pgs it's not that long....just sayin'. Thankful to be done and thankful this was avail through Kindle Unlimited. If I need for another challenge I may pick up another in this series but I definitely wouldn't be running out to get it.

This audiobook was okay. It wasn't as action packed and didn't move the plot along at all. Last full novel, Gershwin had raised a vampire army to battle Seth's immortals. He had gotten really tricky and gave the immortals just about all they could handle.
This book basically consisted of an amnesiac Stanislav being rescued by a gifted woman named Susan. My main issue was that she seemed to lack apprehension and fear that I felt should be evident in a mortal coming into contact with an immortal. Nothing seemed to really rattle her. She quickly became a ride or die chick for a guy whom she knew not much about and a guy who had really weird idiosyncrasies.
There wasn't anything wrong with the book except everything was just so neat tidy and smooth. And we didn't get to see the rest of the gang until the last 20% of the book. Overall Susan and Stan were cool. But this was definitely the least exciting book in this series.

Review: At this point when I'm reading this series it's to see the progression of Eve as an individual, Eve and Roarke as a couple, and to see if I can figure out who the culprit is in the crimes that Eve is tasked with solving.
For some reason this book was a bit more emotional for me. Eve has been through a lot over the course of the series so far, but the fact that someone tried taking away the thing that has made her who and what she is had my feelings in a bit of turmoil.
Eve has evolved a lot since she opened herself up to love with Roarke. Not only is she more open to him, but she is more open in all the relationships she had even before he came along. I love the way he cares for her, rather she likes it or not, and has her back no matter the circumstances.
The only reason this one didn't get five stars is because I knew right away that the b*tch scooper was going to cause trouble from the very first moment she was mentioned. (view spoiler) I wish I had been wrong though.
Besides Eve and Roarke, I also enjoy getting to see the evolution of D. Peabody. I am hoping as the series progresses we get to see her find a real relationship, maybe with a certain coworker in a different department.

Review: I'm not sure what was I specting from this book, and I'm not sure yet haha. But it certainly was an interesting story. Clay, the MC just started working at a bookstore, and it has some weird clients who doesn't buy books but borrow them from a special catalog. There's a lot of mystery surrounding this group of people and Clay starts to unveil the secrets of Mr Penumbra and his clients.
It was pleasantly surprising to see all the technology involved in the development of the story, how Google (the company) was a big part of the unveiling, but it was more satisfying to read that the mind of a person, in this case Clay, was able to resolve the mystery. Also it was pretty how books are a big part of this story, and how they're the key to everything. Books are like the key to immortality, or something like that.
It's not easy to translate my thoughts of this book to english, it's a very special story, and probably almost any booklover would find charm on it.

Review:
Very sweet romance about slightly older MCs (late 30s/early 40s) who have both suffered some trauma and went off to be alone to try and heal. Found each other, of course. It was funny at times to see them work through their own issues in order to see the other person as they are and not how they think they are because of the their pasts. The both had dogs whose antics were hilarious and also gave them a common ground to reach out to each other when their own 'stuff' started getting in the way. There was an HEA but it wasn't all hearts and roses. While the MCs ended up together, they also both agreed they weren't fully healed from their past issues and would have to work hard to get through it and stay together. I liked this bit of reality. Yes, they fell for and loved each other but that didn't make everything else magically okay. But their willingness to be there for each other while they worked through it all was the real HEA, I think.

I am so happy to have found this series when randomly searching through My Media Mall. This one was probably the best yet, as we get a ton of information about Stoker's past and what happened with his ex-wife. As always with this series, the book truly shines with the dialogue between Stoker and Veronica, and there are many great moments between them in this installment. I can't wait for the next one to come out!

Review: This is the first book in the Cordelia Gray series. Cordelia becomes the sole partner in a detective agency when her partner commits suicide. She gets her first case when Sir Ronald Callender hires her to determine why his son committed suicide. After digging into Mark's last days, Cordelia determines that he didn't commit suicide, but was murdered. I wasn't expecting the ending of the book and it definitely changed the way I perceived the main character. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue this series, though I might give the second book a chance and see if it changes my opinion of her.

Gia Mirabelli, romance author, is in the Hamptons for the summer to write. She is asked by one of her housemates and friend to fill in at her bartending job. Gia is not proficient in bartending in the least. While working at Heights she meets Rush (view spoiler) . Rush is the owner of the bar. From their first interactions the sparks fly all over the place.
Gia has to be one of the most honest characters I have read about in a while. No game playing just telling it like it is no matter what. She is attracted to Rush and doesn't hide it, but they decide to be friends. Rush has never had a serious relationship, and he doesn't think he has anything to offer in the relationship department.
All best are off when he just can't stay away from Gia. Of course as soon as things are going their way the hammer comes down... and we are left with a cliffhanger.
