I think I just really wanted to write a book about a super tight group of friends, that were extremely loyal to each other. I wanted to further explore that and voila, Crew came about!! I usually just get a feeling or a thought that starts the book, and from there, the book almost takes on its own exploration journey. I'm as surprised as you guys with the end results too.

Oh man! I still get awkward over Jennifer Armentrout even though we talk randomly. Lol! There was a moment where she was walking down a hallway (my third time talking to her) and she said hi to me. I gave her this silly smile and jerked my hand up in a huge wave, half yelling, "Hello there! Hi."
I tend to go from shy, to reserved, to suddenly we're best friends, but no we aren't and then I pull back again! lol

Same with EL James.
I was asked once if I wanted to sit near her and I said, "No. I think I smell." LOLOL And I didn't, but EL James laughed at that.

Yep. Super awkward fangirl moments here.

Pamela Lilley (lilleyloohlah) | 130 comments Hi Tijan
Hope all’s well?
I’ve been wanting to ask you for a couple of weeks now. Do you think you would ever release an audible original? I know a couple of authors who’ve done that recently. I love the idea of getting to listen to a book months before it’s actual book release.
Pam x

Ahhhh! This question is so hard. I think maybe... Ryan's Bed actually. It still has a special hold on my heart. But man, Crew is up there too. I don't know. I do honestly love them all. I have to, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get them written. LOL

I realize I didn't really answer you, so.... Ryan's Bed!

I've been asked in the past and I turned it down, but you never know. This could happen in the future. Do you enjoy that? Is it something I should really look into doing? (If they were open, I mean.)

Well Tijan. You know I adore audible, two days of my week are dedicated to it. I definitely think it could be worth looking into.

1, Um... that's so hard to answer. I want to write a Colton book, but it might be awhile before I can. I don't think I'll do another Caden/Summer book, though.

2. No for the AWNC series. It's just not in me to write more for them, though I am editing Jace's story very very very slowly in my reader group right now.

3. Probably not. Crew is Bren's series. They will be in Nate's book whenever I finally get that done!

I've read all of your books, except Crew (I have it, just not ready for it to be over yet, if that makes sense) anyway...do you have any recommendations for books similar to Fallen Crest? Do you have any signings scheduled for down South?
Congratulations on Crew!!

Ooh and signings-- yes! I am scaling back on signings, but right now I'm heading to Texas in November. Look on my website. I have a book signings page that I keep updated! www.tijansbooks.com

message 30: by LiteratureLover (new)

LiteratureLover (acheron-lover) | 2 comments HI again,
I have another three-parter question.
I understand there won't be another Ryan's Bed but it really did a 180 on me when you wrote what you wrote at the end. Didn't want to put a spoiler alert on here ><. I do read the acknowledgment page and I understand about Ryan's Bed. What inspired you to write what you write? Are there events that happened that you want people to know about?
what are your all-time favorite books that help and inspired you to write the books you write?

message 37: by Tijan (new)

Tijan Tijan (tijansbooks) | 170 comments Diane wrote: "How do you determine when a book has one or more in a series."

I wish I had a better explanation, but it's just a feeling. Some books I feel I can't do it justice if I write more than one book, others I know I'll have more in me to write for them, etc. If I don't 'feel' the book in me, I won't force it. Those books rarely turn out well for me.

No personal stuff. The characters truly do write the story. I'm just as surprised as readers most the time!! My faves are The Revenger by Debra Anastasia, and... I think that's all that is coming to me right now.
I just write what is speaking to me.

message 39: by Tijan (new)

Tijan Tijan (tijansbooks) | 170 comments Tiff wrote: "When you write do you create a time line for the events that happen in your books?"

Um... I feel this is a loaded question. Lol! I try. Honestly. It's very hard to keep track of everything, but if I don't, I know readers will let me know. ;) But yes, I try to keep everything in mind. If you're asking about an outline, I do sometimes and I don't sometimes.

Hazel *Craves the Angst Reviews* (cravestheangst) | 1 comments Love LOVE your books so much. A new book or rereading your books I've already read gets me through my worse book funks and some really hard times in life. The character struggles... always inspires me to BE better, to DO better and to work harder. And to be kind. Thank you for that.

My question is... and you've probably answered this a hundred times, but, who does that for you? Do you have a "unicorn" author? Also, are you a pantser or a planner? ;)

message 41: by Tijan (new)

Tijan Tijan (tijansbooks) | 170 comments Haley wrote: "Would you ever do a crossover with another author?"

Probably not. I'm too much of a control freak about my books. I also just hear about the bad stuff that happens behind the scenes with that.

Vanessa Riggs (bookaholic817) | 9 comments Hello Tijan! I’m so excited to have an opportunity to just talk to you. It’s almost surreal to be able to talk to someone you truly admire. As far as my question goes… would you ever mentor people who have a passion for reading and especially writing a novel. It just seems like such a HUGE task to take on but it’s now my passion just like reading. However no higher education for me but I would love to write something truly great and be a great author like yourself. Any advice on where to begin and would you mentor or be a sounding board for some lucky person? Thanks so much! Your a brilliant author.
