It was a slow start and a slow middle. It didn't really get exciting until Rune & Carling left the island to find a cure. I loved their romance though. They are very evenly matched... Speed, strength, power. Even emotionally, they fight their feelings as they know they have no time to be together, but it's a loosing battle. There is an element of time travel that also reinforces their feelings towards each other. I hope future books will touch on how the minuscule changes they made to the past will affect the future.

I think this is the first Demonica book that I’ve given four stars. The romance was, if anything, even more unlikely than the others, although all of Ione’s lovers are beyond star crossed. I think maybe I liked it more because some of the worst big bad guys and things finally get resolved. I like dark just fine but (view spoiler) Now that three of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have found their HEA I think I have to go straight to the next book and get that last Horseman settled.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Abby's friend calls in a favor for her to be a second Tarot Card reader at a wedding. Turns out the wedding was for the daughter of a Greek mob boss. While trying hard to dodge working for the guy (he was very persuasive), Abby is also trying to help the police catch a serial rapist. Abby & Dutch's relationship didn't move forward at all like I hoped after how the first book ended. In fact, you could even say it went backwards a bit. I love listening to Abby's inner "guys" as they help her. Even when she herself lies they like to say, Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire. :-) Abby's facing a new beginning in the next book and I hope I can get myself to read it soon!

This is not my kind of book, for sure. Too slow, too far-fetched, too many coincidences. And very, very slooooow. It looks like the story doesn't go forward unless you find another coincidence in your way. And her "crift", as she calls it... I don't know, we go from "Leave me alone" to "Come, I can help you" in zero, coma (sorry, Spanish expression). And the relationship between the main characters... if you can call it when it looks like everything in both of them gets horny to the other (everything, seriously). And in the first problem, the hero drops her... but later she excuses it fast... because the book had to finish...
I wouldn't have finished the book if not by the bingo, but it passes because of the secondary characters, but I don't know if I'm going to read the following books.

Review: This is the second novel of the spin off series set 20 years after the conclusion of the first Midnight Breed series. The men of the Hunter Legacy have had horrific childhoods and Lara Adrian does the tortured hero trope extremely well and makes the insta-love work. hot hot hot!
Cain is an alpha but not overbearing, driven to protect and tortured by visions of death. I liked that when everything went sideways, Marina looked to Cain for help rather than go all TSTL and try to go it alone.

Ok, I’ll go with the first book on the list. I’ve watched the show but never read the books so it’s about time (pun intended).

:P I read this book in Spanish I think almost 30 years ago (I don't know it I was already at the university or still at high school)

That's when I read it, I think I gave up halfway through the second book, that's why I haven't dived into the tv show.

Review:
A tale of revenge, this is a fantasy work set in a mythical Kingdom with the usual magics of varying levels of proficiency, from Masters down to people with very little magic known as mutts. There are shapeshifters, called morphs and interestingly one of the morphs is an ogre form. I did feel the first part was a little slow because of the amount of telling that was used to set up the world building, which in some ways was quite simplistic. I was also surprised to find that the heroine was 27 as her character read a lot younger. I really enjoyed this book but it fell short of the five star mark due to Jennifer Estep's habit of repetitive phrasing and the degree of telling through narrative rather than showing through a character's actions.
Triggers: Gladiator battles with graphic fighting scenes.
