The only downer is that UF does absolutely nothing to getting us closer to Bingo.

ETA: Actually, some of the combined books are showing 1005 pages & some 352. Looks like it needs to be fixed. I'll look into it. :)

ETA: I was just looking on Amazon, and at the top of the page it does say that it's 352 pages, but if you scroll down to the product details it says it's 1,005 pages.

I was gonna read

Steph, finished Diamond Fire yesterday, it's impossible to read slowly lol

I think I’m going with Ian’s story. I don’t normally read reviews before I read the book, but I needed a push one way or the other. Some reviews of Prophecy talked about disappointment with remaining questions and a cliffy ending so I’ll try to hold off on that one for a bit.

Shelf: 'Dragons''
Read: 11/8/18
Rating: ✮✮✮½
Review:
genuinely funny, pretty much every sentence some kind of comedy. The story was interesting, although a little long, but I rated a little lower because sometimes the humor got too over the top. Have to love the King, Unicorn, and all the side characters that made the book such fun. Quests, magic, romance, humor, lots of dirty humor, a fun book. Different from the serious, soul-searching Wolfsong - hard to tell it's even the same author.

Review: I always like a good NS book and being back in Elena and Raphael's world is always a win. This time you have new threats and mystery when a member of Elena's mortal family is attacked. Along with all the immortal challenges and changes with the cascade there's multiple storylines, both ongoing and new which means there is a lot happening this time. Unfortunately Elena is the one that is the primary victim this time when she has a regression of her angelness. I really do like NS books, but Holy adjectives batman!! I listened to this book in audio which is always a treat, but I often have to do the 30 second rewind just to try and interpret the last string of colorful words. And there was a little cliffhanger at the end.

Review:
A great follow-up to the first, even better, although I'm getting tired of the love triangle. I was hoping it was resolved by the end, but with reviews of the third I see this isn't the case, so UGH. Either way there's a lot of politics at play, interspecies struggles, a side story, the MC getting used to the world and how to solve solutions, two surprising betrayals, some funny scenes with the roommate. Great book and hard to put down, but I have a feeling the third will be a let down based on the reviews. We shall see!

Good to know, the love triangle is trying but we'll see. I'll continue it later.

We now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'dragon'.

Yay!! :D

Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost
Series: Night Rebel #1
Shelf: 'urban fantasy'
Read: 12 Nov
Rating: ✮✮✮✮✮
Review:
Shades of Wicked is the story fans of Frost's Night Huntress series have been wanting for many years, myself included. To say I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Ian would be a serious understatement. Jeaniene did not disappoint.
“The worst part was knowing no one cared enough to save you. That’s what you remember forever. Not the physical pain or the never-ending fear, but the despair of being utterly alone and knowing you’ll die that way. Ever been lost like that?”Ian, in previous books, was a hoot and mysterious enough to intrigue. Ian, front and center, in his own trilogy ... priceless! If you go into this thinking there's no female strong enough to take on this feisty vamp you will be proven wrong. Jeaniene has paired him with Veritas, who you may remember briefly meeting in the Night Huntress finale. She's a badass, much older than he and able to see right through Ian's BS - straight to his soft center where all his loyalty and integrity lie. Sure, they both try to maintain that air of mystery, but their battles bring them closer than either could have ever imagined.
“I thought I was a rebel, but you are the very definition of the word.”If you haven't read any of the previous books (Night Huntress, Night Huntress World or Night Prince), you will not be lost. You will, however, miss the glorious beginning and history between all the characters seen throughout this intro into Ian and Veritas' story. Additionally, you'll read what will be several spoilers should you go back and read the previous series.
There is a bit of a cliffy. It's a trilogy, so Ian and Veritas' story will be told over the course of the three books. Still, as happy as I was about what happened at the end, I wasn't quite ready for it to end ... I want more! Gimme, gimme! Can't wait for summertime 2019 and Wicked Promises!

And seven are safe shelves that keep us going for another week, so we are getting closer to the end already.... I'm wishing for ScFi Romance, PN Mystery or Witches which will give us 4 in a row too. I'm really enjoying getting caught up on some series and not quite ready for this round to end quite yet...
@Steph SoW is on the top of my TBR list, glad you liked it... Maybe it will fit this week's shelf somehow.

Kindle Freebie. https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...

I have my freebie list narrowed down but nothing is jumping up and down saying "read me" yet. Lots of contemporary romance books on the list.. Short list:

It is, FYI.
I'll get my UF book posted this afternoon.
For Kindle Freebie I'll either go with

Review: Every time I pick up an Elizabeth Hunter book I know I'm in for a treat. This one was no exception. I loved the story of Teodora (DON'T call her that!) and Alex. Having read the short story about them, I knew their back story and was rooting for them so much. I was so glad that Ted made it difficult for Alex, but didn't take too long to give in to him. He needed to make amends, but they've already spent too much time apart.
The mystery was a bit obvious. But it wasn't really the whole point of the story. The mystery was just an excuse to tell the story of the relationships and the development of the town.

Review: So, the good little American comes to London for the summer to work at Wimbledon, accidentally meets a prince, kisses him for luck before his tennis match, and the rest, as they say, is history. Was it totally, outrageously, unbelievable? Yes. Was it a fun, flirty read anyway? Yes. Am I over here grumbling about authors who put their first book on Amazon free and then put the first 3 chapters of the next book at the end of the free book? Especially when none of those books are available from any of my libraries? You betcha!
As an aside, I did struggle with trying to figure out the monarchy here. Prince Harry was mentioned. "Great-aunt Elizabeth" was mentioned. But Charlie was 3rd in line for the throne, behind his brother Hugh. And this was the British monarchy. A bit of a confusing mix of the fictional and the actual.

I had a really hard time finding something for this shelf. Everything that I wanted to read wasn't shelved correctly or was under 200pg. I finally settled on

I'm glad you enjoyed that one, Laura. I really enjoyed that series and was sad to see it end.

If the 3rd one is Allie & Ollie's story, I feel like there are many more stories to be told here. And I want her to write them. But I also want her to write more Ben & Tenzin at the same time. And I want more 7th & Main. But I haven't read The Genius & the Muse, or any of the Irin Chronicles, so I'm pacing myself with what I have left. :)

Great review, Laura. Loved this bit, "Was it totally, outrageously, unbelievable? Yes. Was it a fun, flirty read anyway? Yes." Sorry the next isn't available to ya. That sucks.
I think there are a lot of other stories she could tell in that world too. Maybe we'll get lucky and she will. I've read all of the Elemental Mysteries and Cambio. I've only read #1 of Elemental Legacy and need to get back to it, as well as Elemental World. I haven't read any Irin, have you?

Great review, Laura. Loved this bit, "Was it totally, outrageously, unbelievable? Yes. Was it..."
I haven't read Irin yet, but I grabbed the first on KU, so it's on my immediate TBR.
And, in case you're wondering, she can write the heck out of non-Paranormal Romances, too. I loved
