Carla (carla1957) I have a couple on the go: Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple as well as The Paris Wife by Paula McLain.

I also just finished The Crossing at Blaisdell Park (A Kate Stanton Hollywood Mystery #4) by Marta Tandori by Marta Tandori and really enjoyed it. It is the fourth in the Kate Stanton Mystery series.

Kirsten (kmcripn) I've been reading Gone Girl Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn by Gillian Flynn and listening to A Fire in the Sun A Fire in the Sun (Marîd Audran #2) by George Alec Effinger by George Alec Effinger.

I'm only 1/4 of the way into Gone Girl, but it's not nearly as good as The Girl on the Train The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins or Before I Go To Sleep Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson IMHO.

One of my favorite YA series. Enjoy!

I have a few books in the pot right now. Golden Son Golden Son (Red Rising Trilogy, #2) by Pierce Brown is amazing but is taking years off my life with the tension, The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows The Truth According to Us and Time's Edge Time's Edge (The Chronos Files, #2) by Rysa Walker . All are very good so far.

Christina, have you read Marie Lu's LEGEND trilogy? IMHO, it's one of the very best YA dystopian series out there.

I loved the movie but didn't know it was based on a book. Of course, knowing Disney, the movie bears little resemblance to the original book. Something new to add to the ever growing TBR pile.

You would be correct in assuming the movie is nothing like the book. Granted, it's been a really long time since I've seen the movie, but what I do remember was nothing like the book. I think Disney took the main plot -- gnomes in the Redwoods -- and then went their own way. It was still a fun, adventurous read, though.

Karen (xkamx) | 547 comments When not reading cozies... Lately I've been distracted by e-freebie romances. Some books, some novellas, some short stories... I can get through a few a day. My annual page count is still increasing, but my cozy reading has suffered.

Read A Deadly Web by Kay Hooper over the weekend. It was an okay read, but - though I don't remember much about it - I did not enjoy this one as much as the first in the series (The First Prophet).
