I will be working on a new board tonight. I would say that we can break the "read-a-thon games" prompt into two parts so that we can reveal it on the original board. Then there will be a new square on the new board for the remainder of the games.
We are close to completing the audio hours! I can try to listen to some of my audiobook today so we can knock off those prompts.

I am reading three books right now and I hate all of them. Middlemarch is... Middlemarch, and the other two have some super unlikeable characters. I’m definitely going to need a palate cleanser after these.
Updating the board now.
I may have missed it somewhere, but don't forget we have to guess the link between the books :)

I read 178 pages today, and finished another book (but it doesn't count as a completed one as I had less than 100 pages to go before we started the week).
I'm reading it via Serial Reader, and some issues are really good (mostly when there's actual conversation going on...) and some are just really not. I'm already like 5 issues behind and I just... don't wanna.

Weekly total so far:
330 pages read
5.5 hours of audio book
The new team board is being posted now, in the main topic. I'm going to remove the completed prompts for the sake of keeping things a little more simple.
The new board will be a continuation of the read-a-thon so the book, audio, and page totals are for all reading since the start of the read-a-thon. They can simply be tacked on to our current totals.

Yes :)

Yes :)
Spreadsheet updated! We can reveal #15 on board one.
Laura, there's a few times where the max for the higher number (prompt 9 with 500 pages max) is lower than the max for the lower number (prompt 6 with 1,000 pages max). It's that way for pages and books completed. What should we do there?

My brain is getting a bit fuzzy at this point in the day so I figured the numbers would be wonky somewhere :P
We can modify prompt 9 to be 1,500 pages.

Yes :)"
That was my first instinct, but everything I read said The Secret Keeper was set in London. Guess I will have to read it! Picnic at Hanging Rock was the one that cemented the Australian connection for me.
Let's see. It's been kind of busy with back to school stuff. I read 200 yesterday and 279 today. I don't know if you need my page count, but I'm giving it for the new board if we're tracking!

But here are my updates:
Read 811 pages
Completed Shadow and Bone, and
The Tailor - a short story
My book recommendation: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
I know it's a classic and is probably a school required reading for some, but it's one of the books I read this year that went beyond my expectations.
My favorite book to movie adaptation: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
I submitted a prompt for the 9th mini poll for the 2019 list. I also voted.
Liz, does The Hate U Give fit any of the new prompts? And wasn't it amazing?!
Ana, you've been updated! I think the participation in the list making is going forward this week (not necessarily looking at Poll 9, but going forward starting today), so let me know if you participate in Poll 10! Also, Ana, does Shadow and Bone count for any of the new prompts that we've posted?
Laura, you can open up #1 and #11 on our second board! I finished my first book of the Read-A-Thon and it was awful and I'm so glad it's over haha.

Yes, the intention is to participate moving forward so that would poll 10. That could include voting or general commenting, not just suggesting or seconding.
Updating boards now.
ETA: I may have missed you pointing it out Emily, but I went ahead and removed #17 from board one since we completed all the games from Saturday through yesterday.

Last night, I ended up reading 45 pages of Us Against You and listened to 40 minutes of Dragonfly in Amber

This book fits these prompts.
8. Read a book with a child/elderly main character
18. Read a book set in a country different from your own (South Africa)
20. Read a non-fiction book
I will post when I've completed the book :)

Magpie Murders = 4. red cover
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry = 8. elderly character

I LOVED The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society film that just came out on Netflix.

Ah Liz! I'm so excited to watch it.. me and my mom have been trying to coordinate a time that we could watch it together, but it hasn't panned out yet (she's recently retired and far too busy to hang out with me haha!)

Sam and Jody, we still need a book recommendation from you.
Laura, Samantha, and Jody, we need a poem from you!
Don't forget to share your favorite book-to-movie adaptation. That should be an easy prompt to fill! And let me know if you participate in the suggestions thread of the 10th poll so I can mark that down.

For book to movie adaptation I will go with the Harry Potter books, both were fun.
For my book to movie adaptation, I would whole heartedly recommend White Oleander. The movie changes the story quite a bit but both are fantastic.
And my poem is Still I Rise by Maya Angelou: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem...

A book to movie adaptation I really like is The Devil Wears Prada. So fun to watch!

Thanks for clearing that up about the 2019 list.
My pages read haven't been updated. It's now 864.
I this the link to the "rejects prompt"? If so, Shadow and Bone can be a book I read for free. It can also fall under romance element, or beautiful cover

I also finished reading The Vendetta Defense by Lisa Scottoline, and AtY book for me, plus it can fall under

Book to movie adaptation, my favourite is probably The Princess Bride. One of those times where the movie is far better than the book.
I’ll do my book recommendation when I’m on my computer and can link.

Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickerin brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee
Wi' murd'ring pattle!
That was just the first verse. 🤣
My book recommendation is A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. One of the best books I've ever read, and almost always the first one that comes to mind when someone is looking for book recommendations. It's absolutely heartbreaking, but so, so good.
Also - my Dad Is Fat book can count for the new board, I think! Under non-fiction. Otherwise, I'm listening to Columbine which I should have finished by the time we're done.

I have been able to listen to some audio on my commute though, so you can add 2.5 more hours for me here, bringing my total up to 4.5 hours.
Now, with regards to book to movie adaptions - so many great ones! Love the ones that have been mentioned so far. Others I enjoyed:
- 12 Years A Slave (not for the sensitive soul, but a fantastic movie production )
- The Help (one of those rare cases where I found the movie equally good as the book)
- 84 Charing Cross Road (so charming, and starring the lovely Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins)
- The Godfather (Haven't read the book yet though)
- Pride and Prejudice (The BBC miniseries starring Colin Firth)
- The Midwife trilogy (The BBC series)
I could go on, but that will do for now ;)
Jody, hope you feel better soon! I think there is something going around, I have also been a little under the weather for the last couple of days, but are trying very hard to ignore it. And lots of people at work are home now with a harsh cold.
Updated!
Great job Ana! I put Vendetta for the Trees on the Cover prompt.
Jody, I hope you feel better! I'm finally (mostly) recovered from my illness this weekend and I feel like I still can't find my reading groove. Also, that poem was written in an alien language haha.
Hilde, Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth is one of my favorites!
We can open up prompts 2 and 11 from the first board and prompts 2, 5, and 20 from the second board!
Also, if you post in the suggestions thread for the 10th mini-poll, please let me know!

Death in the Andes can be a book that was originally published in a language other than English. #23 first board
The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up could work on the new board maybe (Her work is based on her study of Japanese households, so maybe #18)
I can be checked off on the new board for #1, #3, #6, #15, and #9.
I've read 6 book, over 1731 pages (close to that, I think). 1500 count to reading and 231 pages I count to audio (and that is about 7 discs worth which is normally about 8.75, but I've listened to far more than that). I think I've done this right.
Currently reading See What I Have Done

And

I'll keep on trucking! Everyone is doing fantastic (in all the groups). What fun.
#7) Movie Adaptation Share: I love The Graduate. I think it is better than the book. The Godfather was pretty epic, too!
Tammy, you are killing this! I've updated everything on the spreadsheet. I put you down for 8.75 audiobook hours.
Samantha, I'm pretty sure I thought the prompt was complete at 20 hours instead of 25... so we cleared the space early. I'm going to leave it as is, since the picture has already been flipped.
Laura, we can clear #23 on the first board and #6, #8, and #18 on the second board.
