Thanks Ann, Susy, Jaime, and Newly! Too bad Goodreads is having problems so that although that limits my socializing, it does mean I will focus more reading and resting. Next time. . . .

Isn't it Romantic by Wendy Wasserstein on my physical bookcase.

I'm not very good about checking in with people either. :-) I get into my reading groove and that's all I want to do.

are you reading right now?

2. How many books have you read so far?
I have read
Cherry Blossom and Paper Planes by Jef Aerts Thessaly Witch for Hire by Bill Willingham Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman
I have read parts of
Ford County by John Grisham Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
The Witches by Roald Dahl

4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
My usual prep of a good sleep just before start of readathon did not happen. Busy week. And now I have another necessary errand to run on bus. Such is life. And we continue.

I enjoy this one well enough. I will not oarticipate not for long enough for sense of enoughness to come, I believe. And that might be good!. . . .There will be other readathons.
And we continue.

5. What surprises pleases you most about the Read-a-thon so far? The variety of questions we are asking each other.

Planning my food.

I want to take a made-from-scratch flan to my parents' house on Thanksgiving. So I will be practicing the day before Dewey's. I will be ready early to read just so I can taste that trial-version flan!

Also I am probably making my version of chicken soup--a personal hybrid between
Chicken Gumbo
Tortilla Soup
Chicken Vegetable Soup.

My body says: Feed me Hummus! Feed me Hummus! So hummis it will be with maybe sliced up jicama and fresh pico de gallo. I usually use green bell peppers so that my pico is more on the relish side of heat.

Still thinking good time to try out flan. But will depend on willingness level to make special effort. Feeling comfortable at home with slightly cooler weather.

Thanks Susy, Kate, Susan, and Ann A for stopping by.

I have been going to physical therapy for small eye issue and minor balance issue. Fortunately I am progressing fast, and hope to read more easily than I usually do. . . . I wish you such easy recovery, Ann.

What? you too! Some of us have to retain our eyesight!
My eyes are out of whack with my brain--caused by a long ago infection. So have to train brain and eyes to track together.

And my balance is off. Happens as we go through life and as we age. So working on that too. Kinda goes with eyes and brain.

Very easy to fix at physical therapist and with exercises. Six weeks and done.

Now Susy . . . . be thou careful with thy eyes!
