Lux blinked at him, thoughts coming together in her head (foremost among them being that hey, look, there's another person the room). Then, slowly, as if in a dream, she asked, "Why would it be your hair?"

((Indeed))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "This is going to sound weird, but yesterday this guy randomly chopped off my hair in Ollivander's yesterday, and you look an awful like him. Wait, is he your brother?" This girl didn't look like a big, scary Ravenclaw seventh year, but one time he had seen this TV show where some seemingly normal politicians had turned out to be big green aliens in disguise. It could be like that.

((Throwing around random Doctor Who references here.))

message 254: by [deleted user] (new)

((Indeed))

Lux furrowed her brow. "Why would I know if my brother were in Ollivander's yesterday?" Honestly, she and her brother traded letters regarding their work/potions, not silly things like what they're doing. Her brother, she knew, was as bad as she was. Cutting off someone's hair was something neither of them would think of as strange or wrong.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Well, he said he had a sister in Ravenclaw. What house are you in?" This had to be that boy's sister. Or an alien. But he was pretty sure she was his sister.

message 256: by [deleted user] (new)

((Or both))

Lux was not sure why he was asking her this question, but nevertheless, she answered, "Ravenclaw." She did not elaborate on her answer. If someone wanted her to say something, they generally had to ask all the right questions unless asking anything about potions. She could go on and on about her potions.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Aha!" he said. "And who is that letter from?"

message 258: by [deleted user] (new)

"Sol," she answered without giving any explanation as to whom Sol was."He’s brilliant, you know? He created his own time turner before he graduated school. And he's figured out a lot of the existing information on ley lines to!" She could brag about her brother’s academic achievements all day too.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Is he... your boyfriend? Or perhaps... your brother?" Now it was his turn to be strange with this possibly alien Ravenclaw girl.

message 260: by [deleted user] (new)

"Brother," she cofirmed rather dreamily, a soft smile on her face. "He's excited to hear if my newest potion is patented by the Ministry." She grinned at the thought of her potions. She still needed to plan her next one . . . .

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Well, if he's your brother, and this is for your potion, his Ravenclaw sister, then that is, indeed my hair," he said, quite sure of himself.

((This is hilarious. XD))

message 262: by [deleted user] (new)

((Indeed))

Lux frowned, her brow crinkling. She looked from the hair on tne floor to the hair on his head. "It is not attached to you hair and therefore not yours." Besides, it didn't exactly look like he was missing any of his.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Well, let's just say I have a friend who knows quite a bit about hair," he said, blushing slightly at how stupid he probably seemed to her.

message 264: by [deleted user] (new)

Lux frowned, her mind suddsnly diverted back to her potions. People never used hair in potions on a regular basis. Had it ever been contemplated that different types of hair from different types of people affect potions differently. She had effected potions using hair before, but how had it not occurred to her? She bit her lip thoughtfully, runnning calculations in her head.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews He walked over to her. "What are you working on?" he asked politely, hoping to leave the embarrassing hair issue behind.

message 266: by [deleted user] (new)

Lux did not answer him straight a way. Instead, she made him wait almkst ten minutes until her calculations were at a decent stopping point. "Tne properties of hair." She did not even realize how vague her description was.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Okay, they weren't going to let the hair thing go. "Okay... and what have you found out about my hair?"

message 268: by [deleted user] (new)

She furrowed her brow, her lips curving down into a frown. "Who said anything about your hair?" Actually, she had been comparing the properties his hair might have to what hers and Sol's would have to what Sammy's might have."

The Full Bookshelf Reviews He decided he would only say it one more time. He was getting frustrated now. "That. Is. My. Hair."

message 270: by [deleted user] (new)

"What is?" Lux questioned. "No one is talking about your hair. But the magical properties of hair -- that would be a fascinating topic of conversation. For instance, it's amazing that no one studies this much. We just go with things like 'put this guy's hair in your potion.' No one ever thinks about why. What does the hair do? We wouldn't use it if there weren't something magical about it. Or wizards are claiming it to be magic when it's really that muggle science called genetics. Why don't we ever think about this?" She stared at him, wide-eyed and grinning.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Well, let's see what sort of magical properties this hair may posess," he said, taking a seat next to her. "Let's see... it's very red... maybe the potion will have a sort of fiery effect. Or just make it bright orange." He shrugged.

message 272: by [deleted user] (new)

Lux gave him a look that clearly said You're such an idiot. "You are incorrect." She frowned, sticking her lower lips out slightly as she thought. "You think too literally." She failed to clarify exactly what she meant, not realizing it would be necessary for most normal people.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews "Maybe so, but you are a Ravenclaw, and I'm a Hufflepuff, so you're clearly the boss." And maybe an alien, he thought to himself.

((Ivor has convinced himself that Lux is a member of the Slitheen family, as you can see.))

message 274: by [deleted user] (new)

Lux nodded slowly and smiled, her eyes still comically wide. Then, an idea came to her. And she had to act on it right that second. Her grin turned almost manic and she started bouncing on the balls of her feet. "I have an idea!" she exclaimed. Without further explanation, she dashed down out the corridor in the direction of the potions cupboard.

((XD))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Ivor patiently waited for her, knowing by then that she was brilliant, but insane. He knew the type.

message 276: by [deleted user] (new)

((Are we done? I don't see her really returning here? Maybe they could see each other like a few days later?))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews ((Okay.))

message 278: by [deleted user] (new)

((So whereto?))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews When he realized that she probably wasn't coming back, he left the room (and his hair) behind.

message 280: by [deleted user] (new)

((LOL))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews ((Corridors and Stairwells?)) (If you can't pick an actual place, you just say they're trying to get to an unspecified place. XD)

message 282: by [deleted user] (new)

((LOL that works. It's free?))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews ((There hasn't been a comment in a year, so I'm guessing so. You post first since I did last time?))

message 284: by [deleted user] (new)

((LOL Okay. I might forget if you don't like post a dot there though. I'm trying to do this one reply to Maska over on City of Broken Souls, and that's going to be like two or so paragraphs))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews ((Or I can go first, if it's easier for you. I don't mind.))

message 286: by [deleted user] (new)

((If you want. You could just like double parenthesize a David Tennant gif if you want. Up to you))

The Full Bookshelf Reviews ((Haha, I love it, absolutely. AWESOME IDEA! *Nerdy enthusiasm ensues*))

message 288: by [deleted user] (new)
