Lux stood up. "Not interested in finding out." She made up her face.

"I want to make another potion," Lux announced with a beam.
"Yep!" Lux excleimed, giggling in the way most normal girls did when talking about their crushes.
Lux shook her head, still grinning.
"Sure," Lux said, "but how fond are you of potions?"
"Would you consider yourself good at them?" Lux tried. "I'm a genius at them, you know. I'd need you to keep up."
"Oh," Sammy said. "I think so. If you don't think I'm good enough I could always just hold things."
"Depends on your knowledge," Lux said nonchalantly.
"So. . . possible functions I could try for," Lux said, deciding then was a good time to start brainstorming.
"That was where you were meant to chime in with an idea," Lux said dryly. She hopped up and nearly fell over from the momentum. She blushed faintly, the color not really taking to her pallid face.
Lux glared and hmmphed. She resolved she would not say another word until Sammy came up with an idea.
Lux stared at her impatiently before beginning to hum Hungarian Dance No.5.
((Nope. Nada))
Lux continued humming, but now she sort of danced along to the song as well.
Lux continued humming, but now she sort of danced along to the song as well.
((Sigh. There's probably already a potion for putting a block on magic, right?))
Sammy got distracted by Lux's dancing, and stared at her.
Sammy got distracted by Lux's dancing, and stared at her.
((Maybe? IDK. As long as the formula's different))
Lux noticed Sammy staring and stopped. She crossed her arms and frowned.
Lux noticed Sammy staring and stopped. She crossed her arms and frowned.
"Could think up a different one!" Lux exclaimed. She bounced on the balls of her feet and threw her arms around the other girl.
Lux released her, not even noticing Sammy's discomfort.
"We begin!" Lux exclaimed as if the answer were obvious.
Lux nodded with a bright smile.
Lux led them to the supply cupboard for potions.
"Ingredients that could help and then listing and formulae!" Lux's voice was almost squeaky in her excitement.
If there were one thing Lux loved, it was he work on potions. It was what she did in her freetime, and she was brilliant at her. All of that together made her ecstatic. "Come on!" she exclaimed as she attempted to drag Sammy to the Potions Store Room.

Lux barely acknowledged him, giving the barest of nods. She was staring, transfixed at the letter in her hands, memorizing its every word. It was from her brother, and it had come with a very special gift -- a new ingredient for her potions. Her brother really was the best, wasn't he? Now Sammy would not have to whine about being dragged to the Hogsmeade potions shop for a little while longer. The package itself was tucked into the back pocket of her trousers, where it was likely to stay until she'd made the calculations to see what she could do with it. Speaking of her potions, she needed to remember breakfast tomorrow to see if anything from the Ministry regarding her potion being patented or not. She wanted it to come soon. Her stare at her letter shifted into a glare.

A crash down the hall jolted Lux from her little family-and-potions world. She jumped up, emitting a tiny yelp. The envelope containing Ivor's hair fell to the floor. Lux stared at in surprise. Rarely did things fall out of her back pockets (or so she thought). Casting a wary stare at Ivor, she knelt down to pick the envelope up but not before a couple pieces had fallen out. She moved to pick those up too.
