Sammy looked around the study area. Empty. Perfect. She sat down and looked at the table, trying to figure out it's origins.
Vespasia "Lux" Durrien walked into the Study Area, hoping to have a little bit of time to review some of her work before it was due in two days' time. If she finished before curfew, she planned on taking a bit of time to read a book.
Lux sat down on the floor in one of the corners. She didn't want to disturb the girl that was already sitting at the table, seeing as said girl had already been here and looked quite intent on her work.
Lux jumped when she heard the other girls exclamation. She hit her head on the wall. "Ouch!"
"Hello!" Lux said, smiling a little at Sammy. "How are you, fellow Ravenclaw?"
((BRB. . .Dinner))
((BRB. . .Dinner))
((Bye.))
"All my organs are functioning properly." Sammy said, examining the girl in front of her. Sammy recognized her. "Vespasia, correct? Parents divorced when you were eight? Traveled a lot?"

((I am back))
"Yeah, I'm Vespasia, but I prefer to be called Lux. And you're Sammy, right?" Lux replied, sticking out her hand for Sammy to shake.

"So, what's your story then?" Lux asked.
"I am an orphan." Sammy said, and then wondered if the chairs were of the same origin as the table.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Lux said. "How did you know so much about me?"
"What?" Lux said, prodding Sammy with a quill.
Sammy glanced up and sneezed. "I'm allergic to certain quills." She said. "I know so much about you because I tend to listen in when people talk. I've been told you only ever hear bad things about yourself when you eavesdrop, but I haven't. I have not heard anything about me, actually."
"Oh, sorry. Didn't realize," Lux said. "I've hardly seen you in the 4 years you've been here; you stick to the shadows."
Lux just stared at her. "Who?"
"What?" Lux exclaimed, exasperated that someone knew more than she.
"The chair is of the same origin of the table!" Sammy cried, excited at her discovery.
((I have to go. bye.))

((Bye!))
"What?" Lux asked, still confused.
"What?" Lux asked, still confused.
((Kay))
"What?" Lux said before returning to her work.
"What?" Lux said before returning to her work.
Sammy didn't say anything. She was now engrossed in what Lux was studying, and wondering at its beginning.
Lux slammed her book shut and pulled out one of her journals.
Sammy was still thinking about the study book, and was disappointed when Lux shut it. She brightened when Lux pulled out her journal. "May I see?"
Lux grimaced. "Uh. . . .It's mostly just useless observations and historical details about some of the places I've been. And some random complaints about arguing family members. Nothing interesting, really."
"Ah, but I find reading about how people think very interesting." Sammy said, thinking about the time she stole a diary from a roommate.
"Er. . .I don't tend to show them to people. . ." Lux murmured.
As if sensing Sammy's thoughts, Lux added, "And I've hexed them with a spell that'll activate if someone other than me tries to use them."
Dang it! Sammy thought. "Oh well. I guess that's okay." And then she thought of how many people she might be able to convince to let her read their journals/diaries.
Lux stared at Sammy. "Why are you so interested in invading my privacy?"
"Not your privacy. I am perfectly happy invading someone else." Sammy said. "And, I guess you could say it is a fetish of mine."
"Can you not do it to me, please?" Lux asked, glaring at Sammy.
"I meant all my stuff," Lux clarified, "not just the journals."
Lux raised an eyebrow skeptically. "You wouldn't?"
Lux smiled, before reading one of the things she had written. She looked at it in distaste.
Lux sighed as she read over what she had written. It was an older one of her journals, and she could not stand the way her writing had been.
Lux glanced up at Sammy, alarmed. "Is there someone invisible there or something? I am under the impression you are talking to another person in the room." Lux stared unblinkingly at Sammy, trying to see if the other girl's motions would reveal anything about her.
"I was talking to you." Sammy said unflinchingly. "You were.frowning at your journal, and I can see that page has writing on it. So I assumed that you were upset with something you had written."
