Crow
I come back to the little apartment building with the coffee and food that little water lily bought for her man. It’s really cute that he’s tried so hard to keep her away from me. But I digress. I knock on his door nonchalantly going on ahead and breaking the news for him.
JohnI hear a knock at that door and I head over quickly thinking it was Mari. She had been gone for a while now and I was starting to worry. I mean coffee didn't take that long to pick up and bring back.
I open the door to see Crow and I frown. "You're early. I told you the next batch wouldn't be ready until noon." I tell him and my heart freezes as I see the coffee in food in his hands. He couldn't know that I get my coffee from there and my exact order.
Crow“True but you know since we are business companions I’d figure that it’s my duty to give you some well needed news..” I tell him walking in and placing the things down on the table before I get Marianas coffee and took a sip of it.
“You see I could’ve helped her out. But since you prohibited me from going anywhere near her or touch her. I had to stay on the sidelines while the Special Elements Unit took your friend away.” I tell him looking at the food.
“Oh chocolate chip bagel nice taste.”
JohnHe tells me that is true but he needed to tells me some well needed news. He sets down the food and coffee on the table. He tells me he could have helped her our but since I prohibited him from going near her, he couldn't help her when the Special Elements Unit took Mari away.
I growl clenching my fist. "You're lying. They couldn't know about Mariana. She hasn't been involved in any part of this. They would have no reason to take her." I say more to myself then to him.
CrowI take a bite out of the bagel and just shrugged my shoulder a little bit. “Well let’s say that shadow girl is pretty in tune with behaviors and with her powers. The avatar girl isn’t someone to shy away from either. As soon as they made Mariana they took her away. Perks of being an elemental versus and elemental a shadow can swallow Mariana up and no one would notice.” I said taking a sip of the coffee.
“Well I guess it’s a good thing you got to bang her before they probably took her to investigate a way to get to you. But probably knowing her she won’t say anything about your whereabouts. Not that they care.” I say nonchalantly
JohnHe takes a bite out of the bagel and shrugs a little bit. He tells me that the shadow girl and other elemental girl must have sensed her. That they could snap her up without anyone noticing. He adds it is a good thing I got to bang Mariana before they took her away to get to me.
"Shut the fuck up, Crow." I growl the coffee cup in his hand freezes to the point it shatters. "I'm getting her back. I don't care if I have to turn myself over to do it. Mariana wasn't involved in this." I say pacing a little. I had to get her back.
CrowIt was a reflex of mine to not have my eyes turn pure white. Have to remember I’m not the alpha in this role. I flick my hand a bit to let the ice shards fall on the floor when I looked back at him.
“Sure because turning yourself in half cocked is going to be a solution to your plan in getting that spring dew back. How about you think calm and rationally.” I tell him. Pretty cool and collected myself as I deal with just being a dealer.
John"Here is nothing to think about. She isn't involved in this. I can't let her just sit around stuck with them because of me." I tell him pissed. I didn't want her to hear them ask me about me, hear about the things I was doing.
Crow“Well I think there is something to think about. Just to go ahead and give yourself up? There goes your future with her. The nice peaceful moments in the cabin. A life where you finally get to call her your wife?” I said pulling out on the cabinet and took out a baggie of the icyn he created and smiled.
“Of course you have to give these people reasonable doubt that it isn’t you. Perhaps find another ice maker that could do this job?” I asked just giving him ideas.
JohnI frown as he tells me that this is something to think about. That if I turn myself in then there goes my future with her, my chance to finally call her my wife. I clutch my fist a little not liking this at all.
"Wouldn't work. They would be able to tells it is a different ice user. That's the problem with elemental powers. They leave their own fingerprints." I tell him running a hand through my hair. "I best thing I can do is get rid of everything that connects me to icyn and play dumb that I have no clue why my elemental fingerprint is attached to icyn."
CrowI let out a sigh and just shrugged my shoulders. “Scrub your hands clean of it sounds about right what you would do.” I said taking his coffee and took a long sip of the drink and ate at the bagel.
“Well good thing is that I’m the one that’s pushing and that no one has seen your face.” I tell him and just bit at my bagel.
“So what you want to do Boss. What’s your idea of disappearing from the kingdom you’ve started to create?”
JohnHe sighs and shrugs his shoulders saying it sound about right for what I should do. He takes my coffee and sips it as he eats a bagel. He tells me that it is good thing that he is the one pushing and no one has seen my face.
"Sell off the last batch and cut our losses. I'm sure we have made more then enough to sit comfortably for a while. I get Mariana back and my name kept out of this. I disappear with her after that." I tell him when he asks what I want to do.
Crow“Alright man. You’re the boss if your urgency to get this out of your hands as fast as possible. I’ll see if I can find anyone that will be interested in buying in bulk.” I tell him getting up on my feet when I walk over to the door.
“Mm do you have a clue on how many kilos you’ll be managing to squeeze out?” I asked him
JohnHe tells me that he'll see if he can find anyone interested in buying in bulk. He gets up and heads to the door as he asks me how many kilos I'll manage to squeeze out. I sigh and run my hand through my hair.
"At most maybe 10. Low end would be 5. I'm on a time crunch through." I tell him. "I'll have the last batch to you by noon maybe a little later if things get complicated."
Crow“How about I’ll come around ten tonight and I’ll pick up whatever you have by then. After that we’ll just cut ties i should be able to sweep everything under the rug. By then your focus will be on your girl and do you have a plan in how to get her?” I asked him and just walked towards the door waiting to hear his answer.
JohnHe tells me how about ten he'll come around at ten tonight. He'll pickup whatever I have by then after that we'll just cut ties with each other. He adds he should be able to sweep this under the rug and I can focus on getting Mari back.
"Not yet but I'll think of something. After all I have several hours to think while I work on this last batch of icyn." I tell him.
Crow“Alright. Then I’ll say my good byes to you until tonight.” I tell him and walk on out of his apartment. I put on some sun glasses and just walk out into the street. It doesn’t matter if the avatar can sense other elemental. The avatar has never been able to detect light elemental. It’s an Ace for me, along with being able to cloak myself from any elemental. Except my counterpart of course.
JohnI close and lock my door behind him with a deep frown. I didn't trust Crow. Something was off about Mari going missing like this. I mean what are the chances of SEU figuring out that she is connected me that quickly.
Regardless I would go along with this all for Mari's sake. I was going to get her back no matter what.
CrowI creeped up in the shadows and warped out of the alley into my own little palace. I smiled as I walked down the hall and looked at the lifeless body of Mariana. Oh she has a great figure, so pure, and so much raw power in her. I touched her cheek and she whimpered softly and I smiled.
Had to keep her out cold for a while. That’s the only way that shadow girl won’t get an accurate read on her. Mmm that shadow girl... sure she’s my polar opposite but the things I’d do to that body. My eyes shine their pure white as I say on my chair and took out my whiskey.
“Time to play some games.” I grinned.
Juni"So are you guys down for this or what. I mean we are losing daylight here and the longer we wait the colder the case grows on finding that poor girl." I say as I finish my coffee and lick my fingers clean from the donut glaze.
"Or I could always go on my own but I doubt my partner will let me." I add glancing at Leo knowing he wouldn't be down for that idea.
Leo“Yeah you’re not going on your own. And it sounds like we have a kidnapping in our hands along with a drug dealer in our hands.” I say drinking the last of my coffee and doughnut. I get up and grab my jacket.
“Well I say let’s go. We have our reports written and that girl is the closest thing we have to a clue on this ice guy and... it’s the right thing to do. To save her from whatever.” I say determined and Cora nods her head.
“I’ll go, maybe I can sense her with my shadow pearl.”
SeanI chuckle as Leo tells Juni yeah she is not going on her own since this sounds like a kidnapping. We all finish up with our coffee and donuts and I nod as Leo says we should go since it was the right thing to do.
"I'm coming as well. That way if we need to spilt up we have even pairs." I say after Cora says she is going to so she can see if she can track down her shadow pearl.
"Well then it looks like we are doing this. So let's hit the road." Juni says, grabbing Leo's arm to pull him along with her.
CoraI smile when I see those two coming out of the conference room. They really do look like a good pair when you match their energies to keep them balanced up. I am still on edge a little, what happened to the girl is on me.
And that feeling that I had when she all of a sudden disappeared, it really did shake me to my core. I walked out just following them to the elevator before we went to the garage.
SeanI head out with them and catch up with Cora. I link pinkies with her and look at her out of the corner of my eye. "You okay?" I ask her softly since she looked still pretty shaken up from her news about the girl just disappearing out of the blue.
CoraIn the elevator I feel Sean’s pinkie wrap with mine and it’s like the sparks help anchor me back to reality. I looked at him and just let out a shaky breath before I just nodded my head.
“Not completely sure. I mean I felt for a split second the girls fear and then this power that terrified me.” I explained to him when the elevators doors opened And walked out to the cars.
SeanShe seems to calm down at my touch. She tells me she isn't sure and that she felt that girl's fear for a split second. Also this power that seem to scare her.
"Don't worry we'll find her." I say reassuringly. "I mean we have some of the best detectives on our team right now. I am sure we can find her." I add with a smile as we head to the garage to get in our cars.
Cora“Yeah.” I whispered to him kind of numb like when I walked on out and got inside of the car. I kind of just stayed seated already given them the address of the coffee place that I last saw her in. I don’t get it, this pit in my stomach was unnerving.
Leo
We get to my car and I helped June inside when I put on the radio on some old rock and just let out a sigh. “Is it me or is Cora really shaken up? I mean I’ve known the girl for only a little while but she doesn’t look like the type that would get scared easily.” I tell her driving out.
Sean I get in the car and she gives me the directions to the coffee shop. I pull out of the parking garage with Leo and Juni in their car behind us.
I reach over and take Cora's hand in mine stroking my thumb over her skin. I had never seen her so spooked before.
Juni
"She really did but in all fairness it is pretty weird. I mean the girl just up and disappeared completely off the radar. It's a bit unnerving. Someone had to know that she was important to the icyn guy to nab her." I tell him trying to think of who would nab the girl. Maybe someone getting back at him? A scorned partner in the drug dealing?
Leo“I don’t know. Something just doesn’t fit right here. It’s like something is happening underneath this icyn deal.” I tell her and just drive up to the coffee shop when we get out of the car. It wasn’t that crowded but still we were molding into the crowd when we waited for Cora
“Babe can you sense any other elemental sin the area? I mean if she got coffee here it’s safe to say she had to go somewhere near by?” I asked her.
JuniHe tells me how he thinks that there is something more going on here then just this whole icyn thing. I nod a little thinking the same thing. We get out at the coffee shop and wait for Cora and Sean to come over.
He asks me if can sense any other elementals in the area. I close my eyes focusing as I reach out as far as I can go. "There are five other elementals in the area minus us four. Two earth, one air, one fire and one ice. The ice is the furthest from us."
Leo“Alright So scratching the ice elemental, those other elemental don’t seem to be obscuring from Cora’s elemental radar. I mean can you sense anything else? How about the lingering scent of the water girl? I think Cora gave us a taste of her water.” I tell her and I see Cora pulling right up.
I waved at them and just smiled a little bit. Maybe June can give us a bit of a heads up
Juni"Not really I mean they are all pretty low level. I don't think anyone could block other elemental's energy like that. He asks if I can sense anything else. I close my eyes and focus again as I hear Cora and Sean pulling up.
"I can feel a lingering water elemental energy and something else. It's unfamiliar. I don't think I have ever felt an energy like this." I tell Leo with my eyes still closed as I reach for the energy.
I gasp as it feel like something snaps inside me. I grip Leo's arm stumbling. My vision blurs and I collapse, my eyes shutting close as I pass out.
-Blocked Memories-
"How many elementals is she up to now?" A man in a lab coat asks coming over to a table. It's cold and light is blinding my eyes.
"Four. Water, air, fire, and earth. Her body is having a hard time adapting to them though. When she uses them her body all about shuts down." A female voice explains.
"Can we keep going with the experiment?"
"I'm not sure. We have tried to add lightning and ice but her body has rejected it. Light and shadow are also being rejected hard." She tells him.
"What about the... thorns?" He asks tapping a clip board.
"We are still not sure what they are. They don't fall under the earth element but at the same time they aren't like any of them. So far research has turned up that it a mixture of elemental power. Extremely uncontrollable and powerful. The one time she unleashed them... it was like they were controlling her, not the other way around." She tell him as she presses something against my arm. It burns.
"We'll continue for now but once we put her out for testing. Wipe her memories of testing. We don't want her unleashing those thorns again." He tells her and starts to walk away.
LeoI try to be by her side hoping that I could probably give her some emotional support or something on those lines. She tells me she kind of feels something else but that she can’t really put a finger on it. She presses onto trying to read it when all of a sudden something happens to her
I gasp and catch her in my arms when she goes out cold. “June. June!” I call out to her when Cora runs over to us and she touches her and spasses our.t.
“She pushed too hard. He’s not going to let her sense him.” She hisses under her breath when she places her hand again and I see her shadow going into June’s skin.
“I’m trying to pull her back to consciousness.” She explains to me
SeanCora and I comes running over as Juni passes into Leo's arms. He catches her and calls her name as Cora comes over and touches her. She hisses a little saying Juni pushed too hard and that the guy isn't going to let her sense him.
She rests her hand on Juni again and we see her shadows slip into her skin. She explains that she is going to try to pull her back to consciousness.
She see does her thing I notice these black thorn like vines starting to appear. "Cora!" I say tugging her back as they shoot out towards her.
Juni
Darkness washes over me and I wince at it. It's cold. I don't like it. Something wraps around me. Prickly and sharp, but living and moving. It springs out from me. It wants to protect me. It feels the darkness it a threat.
CoraI think I was able to sense her ID when I hear Sean call out to me. I open my eyes and I see thorns being farted towards me. I waved my hands up and sliced the things in half and let them fall to the floor.
“Woah.” I mumbled not liking that she was attacking me when I was just trying to help her out. But Leo is right by her side and he raises his hands up.
“It’s okay lets just breathe her it’s not her fault.” He tells me before he looks over at June and he caresses her cheek
“Come on June it’s me. Please wake up.” He whispers
SeanShe waves her hands up to slice the thorns in half and they fall to the floor. Cora mumbles a little not looking happy that Juni just attacked her even if she was passed out right now. Leo holds up a hand trying us all to breath for a moment and it wasn't Juni's fault.
He looks back at her and caresses her cheek. He whispers to her and the thorns seems to still a little.
Juni
Something warm touches me. It feels good. Safe. The thing wrapped around me falls away and my eyes start to flicker before they opens. I see Leo looking down at me worried.
Cora and Sean watching me with unsure eyes and a black thorny thing lays destroyed that their feet.
"What happened?" I ask confused.
Leo“You knocked out love.” I whispered to her and helped her up trying for us not to get attention drawn to us. It was really the last thing we needed. I guide her to a bench so she could sit down when Cora stands up and waits for Sean.
“Well more like you tried to get a feel on the elemental that took the girl. The only thing is it’s residual power attacked you. Sent you into a trance. I was trying to get you out but...” she waved her hand down to the floor. “You attacked me.”
I shake my head. “Which we know wasn’t your fault.” I tell June.
JuniHe whispers I got knocked out and helps me up, guiding me over to a bench to sit down. Cora gets up and Sean does the same as they come over. Cora explains what happened and that I attacked her. Leo is quick to chime in that they know it wasn't my fault.
I rub my head that is throbbing and my body hurts. "I don't know what happened it was like one moment I was good and then it knocked me on my ass like you said." I say and wince. "Sorry Cora. I really didn't mean to attack you. It was weird... I felt like I wasn't in control of it. It just acted on its own."
LeoI looked back at her and just nodded my head when she said that one minute she was good and the next gone to a weird episode. I reached out and rubbed her back a bit when she tells Sorry to Cora. She was a little stiff but she relaxed nodding her head.
“It’s fine. Whatever it was it was trying to protect you and I can’t be mad at that. My shadows would do the exact same thing when I’m out like a light.” She tells her and I relax a little.
“Well it doesn’t matter right now. But I think it’s safe to say whoever has this power crossed paths with Icyn guy. We need to find him.” I say determined.
JuniCora forgives me over and tells me that her shadows would have done the same thing if she had been out like a light. Leo tells us that it doesn't matter right now and that it is safe to say whoever has this power crossed paths with Icyn guy. That we need to find him.
I rub my temples a little thinking as his hand rubs my back softly. "The ice elemental I sensed. Five blocks maybe six away." I say and look at Cora. "You said she was getting coffee and stuff. My guess is breakfast for the two of them. I'm also guessing she walked here since her energy disappeared a few feet down the sidewalk."
"So you think this ice elemental is our guy?" Sean asks.
"I think it is worth looking into right now." I tell him with a little nod.
Leo“Yeah right now the ice elemental is the only thing we know for sure.” I tell my partner when Cora nods her head when she looked down the street. She takes a couple of steps ahead before she looks over at us.
“Yeah it’s him. The icyn and his aura match partially but of course it’s not for sure because of the chemicals in the icyn that alter the dna. But my gut tells me other wise.” She tells us and I just sighed.
“Well that settles it. Let’s go get the guy.” I tell them when I reached over to take June’s hand.
“You’re up for it or you need rest?”
JuniLeo agrees with me since it is the only lead we have. Core nods and looks down the street before taking a few steps forwards. She tells us it is him, that the energy partially matches but it was enough to convince her that it was him.
"Sounds good enough for me." Sean agrees with a nod and Leo reaches for my hand. He asks me if I am up for it or if I need to rest.
"I'm good." I say standing up a little and sway feeling a little woozy. "Okay maybe just a minute to get my bearing." I admit.
LeoI looked back at June and I didn’t like that she kind of looked pale. I shake my head when I looked back at Sean and Cora.
“You guys can deal with him and bring him in. Well be at the station to help with the investigation on the missing girl.” I tell them when I picked up June and started carrying her to the car. Cora and jean nod their heads before she starts walking. Following the ice elemental aura.
JuniHe looks at me and shakes his head before he tells Sean and Cora that they can deal with the guy. That we'll be back at the station to help with the investigation on the missing girl. He scoops me up before I can complain.
I sigh too tired to argue and just wrap my arms around his neck. My head resting against his shoulder as he carries me back to the car.
Sean
"Looks like it is just you and me." I say with a little chuckle and gesture for her to lead the way. She takes off and I follow with her as we head toward hopefully the ice elemental in question.
LeoI carried her in my arms until I gently placed her in the car. I went to the drivers side and just went ahead and drove. I had the intention in just going into the station but after what happened. I think she needed to be back in the safety and security of her home with Watson.
Without a second thought to it I turn and headed to her apartment.
Cora
“Yeah just you and me partner.” I whispered smiling to him when I feel the spot where the girl vanished. It was literally right outside the building where I’m feeling the ice elemental. And that other source of power I can just feel it under my skin.
I just head right inside of the apartment and head to the elevator. Feeling out the aura I deduce where the guy is. Since he’s ice he won’t be able to sense us. But just in case I cloaked us both before were at the guys floor and then the door.
I looked at Sean and nodded at him before I knocked on the door. “Girl Scout cookies.” I lower my tone a bit and waited for an answer to the door. Good thing it didn’t have a peep hole.
JuniHe tucks me into the car and I buckle up as he does the same. He starts to drive us to the station and then turns around all the sudden. "I thought we where going to the station?" I say a little confused my head still throbbing.
Sean
She whispers just her and me. We walk all the way to an apartment and she ducks inside. I follow with her until she reaches a door and looks at me with a nod. She knocks on the door and I snicker under my breath as she says girl scout cookies.
I hear some noises from behind the door and then a voice calls out to us. "Don't want any. Go away."
LeoI kind of shrug my shoulders when I glanced over at her for a bit and back on the road. “I wanted to go to the station but I’m more worried about you than the case so I really think it would be best to take you home. To just get you grounded for a bit.” I explained to her and just let out a sigh when I see her building.
Cora
Of course this guy wasn’t going to take it easy. I let out a sigh and just knocked on the door again. “Please sir, if I don’t sell at least a box today I won’t have enough money for my share to the schools new text book.” I tell him sounding pretty convincing but just in case my shadow was ready to just stop him from fleeing.
JuniHe shrugs his shoulders and glances at me for a few moments before looking back at the road. He tells me that he wanted to go the station but he is more concerned about me then the case.
I blush a little at his comment before I nod. "Thanks, Leo." I say softly as we arrive at my building.
Sean
She tries again and really is pulling on the heart strings this time. I can heard the guy groan and the pull suddenly opens. "Look kid just take the-." He pauses looking at us and shoots up a wall of ice before turning to run.
"Well this is going to be fun." I say with a little chuckle.
CoraI looked over at my partner and just smiled when of course that one works. It’s my ace in the cArd really I mean sure it’s a low blow but it really is something. I snap my fingers and immediately shadow walls appear and lock all other exits.
“Mmm not so much. Remember we’re here for the girl.” I tell my partner and let out a sigh.
“Look were here due to a missing person, I really believe she’s linked to you. Now please.. I’ll give you ten seconds to do what you need to do with your place but... look I have a hunch and something tells me your responsible for one crime but your the tip of the iceberg... not literally of course.” I tell him
"Well then let's help her out. I say we head back to the coffee shop and retrace her steps. Maybe you or I can pick up her elemental energy and follow it. I mean it beats just sitting around doing nothing to help her." I say feeling for the poor girl.
I bet the poor thing didn't even know her friend was mixed up in icyn this deep. Now she might be in danger because of him.
