This is a second set in my Maps of Imaginary Places Quiz. See how many of the following maps from sci-fi/fantasy books can recognize. (You can view an enlarged version by clicking on the map or the "enlarge" link below each map.)

This being the Internet, I won't insult your ability to use Google; you can check your answer to each question by clicking on the spoiler tag below each map.) So no need to post your actual answers.

But you can post how many you recognized:

Results:

6-10 out of 10 => Cartography Wizard
4-5 out of 10 => Scout
3 out of 10 => Traveler
2 out of 10 => Villager
1 out of 10 => Lost
0 out of 10 => Visitor from Another Dimension

(See also Imaginary Geography Quiz #1.)

Yes indeed!
This is highlighting the gaps in my reading as well as the March Madness did

Daran | 73 comments Well, on this one I got Wizard at exactly 6-10.

I didn't get #16, is that the campaign map, because it doesn't look like the one from the books?

Congrats, Wizard!
#16 was scanned from the first book, Moon Called (also appears in ebook.)
I didn't know there was a Mercy Thompson campaign.

Well, take it with a grain of salt. When Stefan put together his March Madness brackets, he aggregated several curated lists of SF/F favorites. Whereas, this quiz comes from the criteria, "books with maps I found on my bookshelf." :)

But there is a Mercy Thompson RPG.

That's from Dragons of Winter Night, which is vol 2. (There is a different map, covering a smaller area, at the front of volume 1; but volume 2 was misfiled to the left of volume 1 on my shelf, so that's what got scanned! :)

The one I'm familiar with is the painted on the endpapers. It covers the same area, but the coasts are smoother.

what's the deal with every fantasy triology (they don't seem to do one-off novels any more) haveing to have a map on it? somebody pass a law or something?

message 18: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin | 68 comments Well I got three...so Traveler. I am happy that at least so far I haven't missed the maps for books I've read but it is making it obvious how behind I am in my sci-fi/fantasy reading. :P

Dianne | 3 comments Woohoo, no longer lost. Am now a traveller. I feel pride in this.
