Yes, I used to do this, too, before computers. I think my grandma or one of my aunts taught me this trick. I used to spend my summers on my aunt’s farm or in my grandma’s small town, and we could only do monthly library runs. Going to a library twice a year meant I would forget which books I had read. That’s when I learned The System.
I had forgotten all about it until I saw this pop up on my newsfeed.
