April 12th is less than an hour away for me. I'm going to grab some sleep and get my reading time in tomorrow... during and after work!!Have fun everyone!
Dear day has officially started for me! My plan is to update regularly after readings! Starting now!
I have started! I've only read a half hour, but I'm so excited for today! Happy DEAR Day everyone :-)
Go Nicole! You are rocking DEAR Day already! I was able to read about 60 pages this morning before I headed to work. I'm reading a Harry Dresden book and left in a good spot! Looking forward to getting back to my book!
It's morning for me, and my reading is officially kicking off. Read a little bit last night, but it was difficult with my eyes constantly fluttering shut, so I'm ready to make real progress now that the sun is up :P Currently on page 212 of The Battle of the Labyrinth, so I'm about halfway done. Pretty confident I'll be able to finish this book and at least start The Last Olympian.Good luck to everyone, and happy reading~ Hope you all have fun.
DEAR Day has officially started for me, but I haven't had any reading time just yet. Looks like we have some quick readers in this group! Way to go! I am hoping to at least make some progress on (if not finish) a couple of books that I already have going. I'll be back to update my progress in a while.
well i wasn't going to do this originally because usually i work and also go to bar trivia on thursdays but i happen to not be working and i think also not going to trivia so i guess i'll give it a shoti doubt i will finish any one thing today except a comic [unless i start a novella or something] but i'll read parts of a lot of things like i usually do
[01] 2 issues [about 48 pages] from Hellblazer, Volume 9: Critical Mass. i've been struggling with this literally since the 1st so a few issues is all i manage at one time
[02] Insexts Vol. 2 [137 pages]
[03] 70 pages from The Vampire's Angel. this is an ARC book and i usually try to only read a set number of pages a day from ARCs, also i'm not really liking it so it's hard to read a lot at once lol
[04] 10% of Musketeer Space, which according to my calculations is about 66 pages. this is my workout book so i only read a bit of it a day.
[05] 42 pages from Peter Darling. i was hoping to read the whole thing today since it's a novella but i'm just feeling burnt out and i think i'm gonna go read some fanfic instead lol
Total Pages Read
prose books: 178
graphic novels: 185
hilariously enough that's less than i usually read in a day but i think i was just feeling generally out of it [shrugs]
Finished my first book! A novella, so it was short. I read
. I only gave it 4 stars because it was quite predictable. However, if you really like the series, it was good background information. Back to reading! I'm hoping to finish
today!
I started just after midnight as well, and will probably be there again to finish off tonight. Add the time before breakfast and what I'll call a coffee break (alas, no coffee; I read instead of grinding and brewing) and I'm nearing the end of my book. As a notoriously slow reader, I'm not aiming for a certain page count but I"m enjoying using books to fill all the blank spaces of my day. Will report next when I finish this shorty.
Wow, so many of you are doing great! My plan was to "drop" a few things at work but... one of those days where not everything goes as planned. I'm hoping I can read for a bit now. I left my paper copy at home so I 'm now reading
. Hoping to make a little progress!
I read 3 chapters of my above book before my office got busy and I had to lay my book aside! More reading to come!Great job Kristie. How are you liking Frankenstein?
I finished my first book:The House of the Spirits - 205 pages
I'm also Reading this three books:
Kafka on the Shore - 48 pages
Barbary Station - 21 pages
The Hidden Child - 43 pages
Pages read: 317 pages
I took a very long break to play video games instead lol, whoops. But now I'm back to finish my book; only have 100 pages left~So far I've read 180 pages today.

It's ok, Laura. I don't really love classics to begin with, but I try to read them every so often. This has the advantage of having easy language to follow, but it's still a bit flowery and overly dramatic for my taste.
Kristie, I read Frankenstein last year and felt pretty much the same way about it. I still liked it better than most classics I try but I much prefer to read modern adaptations than the originals lol
Had an exam then lost Internet for a bit, so I ended up reading for about an hour and a half! Got an additional 55 pages read! Still plenty of time left in my day, so I will try to read more between studying! My next post will more than likely be the round up of the day and how it all went!
Sassafrass wrote: "I'm in!!Reading:

Hi Sassafrass! Welcome! Hope you are having fun!
Lots of reading going on! I'm almost finished my book. I've got 2 hr and 20 minutes left until midnight.
Final post of the night! My Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Day has come to an end. I was hoping to read more, but it turns out that my exams and studying are more stressful and taking up more time than I thought they would. So here is the round up for what I could do today:Book read: If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Number of pages read: 131
Total reading time: 2 1/2 hours!
Hoping for another read-a-thon day so I can do better! But for now, I have completed this challenge!
I ended up finishing my book today. If not for this read-a-thon, I definitely would've procrastinated and it would've taken me another week to finish, so this was great! There's three hours left in the day for me, so I'll probably read a few chapters of The Last Olympian then return to my gaming.Congrats to everyone on your progress!

Check out the Earth Day Read a thon if you are looking for another!
Post 52 above has that link.
I was able to read 30% of this book -
With one minute until midnight that 's all for me for this DEAR Day challenge!
Hope you all had fun!
I have an hour to go until midnight here, but I am done for the day and headed to bed. I am quite happy with my progress for the day! I ended up reading 22% of The Lucky Ones (ending at 89% read) and I listened to 3 hours and 26 minutes of Frankenstein (2 hours 23 minutes remaining). That's a lot of reading or one day! I'm glad I was able to get so much done and hope you were all able to have a productive book day too. :)
Finishing in 45 minutes. I want to get at least 45 more minutes in. I will definitely have a little over 8 hours read.
So my internet today has been...let's call it spotty. But I did finish The Yellow Sofa by Eça de Queirós. Considering that I only picked it up because the author's name began with a Q (challenges, challenges), it was such a fun surprise. Reading along as a man drives himself nuts over [sorry, no spoilers], I hardly noticed the differences in time and culture.Anyway, I also read several pieces in Amy Hempel's At the Gates of the Animal Kingdom: Stories.
All together, probably another couple of hours.
Anyway, it's time to choose what to take to bed as I try to last until midnight.
Finish strong, everyone to my West. Good night and GoodReads.
The read-a-thon has ended for me, and it was a lot of fun. There ended up being a change in plans; decided to read The Apocalypse of Elena Mendoza instead of The Last Olympian. Guess I needed a break from Percy Jackson, as I want to savor the content of the previous book without rushing into the next one so soon.I read 273 pages + whatever 19% equals of Elena Mendoza (page numbers aren't enabled for this book on kindle). I feel pretty satisfied with my progress, and I'm glad I participated :)
Reading through the posts and it seems like a lot of you guys made fantastic progress too, great work to everyone, and happy DEAR Day. Goodnight <3.
I read 108 pages of are we ok not sure if I like it seems kinda slow I finished Nick and Norah's infinat playlist ... really close to the movie goes more onto details of Norah's and tris relationship and Caroline and do finished last year's mistake think that's my favorite one out of the 3 that I read it was cute about a girl and a boy that are best friends that stop talking over Junior year ... sorry not sure how to add the pictures to the books on groups yet but love this challenge helped me read alot today hopefully the next one I'll read more thank you
I am still trying to finish my book. I've been at it for 3 hours, but I'm not quite there. I have like 2.5 hours to go. Here's hoping.
After a rather slow beginning it still became an exceptional reading day (especially thanks to the audiobook). All in all I read almost 14 hours, finished 1 book, read the following novella and continued four of my current books with an amazing total of 544 pages :-)For details see message #47

Dear mods, the link to the Read-a-thon leads to the participants of this read-a-thon :-)
I was quite disappointed with my results. I only got about 6 hours in and was not able to finish my current book. But I did enjoy the reading and that us the goal after all!
