Lethal Outlook by Victoria Laurie
Series: Psychic Eye Mysteries #10
Shelf: Detective
Read: 30 Mar
Rating: ✮✮✮☆☆
My Review:
Lethal Outlook takes place "several months" after the events of Vision Impossible, which was my favorite book in the series to date. This installment fell short, for me, for several reasons.
An attorney comes to Abby hoping to persuade her to take a case - "you'll know it when you see it" - while remaining anonymous in an attempt to maintain attorney-client privilege. Shortly after the woman leaves, Abby sees a news report about a missing mother, disappeared without a trace, leaving her infant son home unattended. Abby and Candace work their way onto the case, searching for clues and hunting down a killer. I always enjoy Abby and her P.I. partner Candace's process for solving mysteries.
That said, Abby is always willing to do what she can to rescue/save others (many times to the point of risking her life) yet she cannot handle the thought of planning her wedding or design ideas for her dream house? 🙄 Abby has grown in so many ways throughout this series, yet things like this show how immature? selfish? she remains.
Secondly, how'd this couple heal so quickly? When we last saw them they were both severely injured (view spoiler) , yet only several months later they're back to work? Abby's injuries are mentioned throughout; nothing is mentioned about Dutch's. A paragraph discussing their recovery, even a sentence or two, would've been appreciated.
Nevertheless, I'm in it to finish it. Next up, Deadly Forecast, where I'm assuming we'll have more details on Dutch's case (touched on throughout this installment, remains unsolved) and, finally, the couple's wedding.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Book - The Fractured Heart by Scarlett Cole
Shelf - Detective
Pages - 283 pages
Date Read - March 31
Rating - 4 stars
Review - I am so glad that I'm forcing myself to complete series this year. The Fractured Heart is a book that would have sat on my shelf indefinitely because, while I liked Drea and Cujo as best friends to the previous book's main characters, I was sure that I wouldn't like a book about them. Drea was shown as combative and pretty rude, and everything was sex or a joke to Cujo (unless it came to either of their best friends). I was completely wrong! I adored Drea and Cujo and their fight to be together. I adored the kidnapping story line. I even adored the angst and I hate angst O.o

Uggghhh!!! I've certainly done that before! Lately my 'thing' is opening a new tab to check page count etc. and when I click to return to the one I'm typing in, I somehow click to X out of it instead.

Yeah, it's infuriating especially when I can't just say, "Screw it, I won't write a review!" b/c I need one for BSB. >:p

Title/Author: Seduction in Death by J.D. Robb
Series: In Death #13
Date Read: 4/2/2018
Shelf: Shelf 4 - Detective
Pages: 354
Rating: ★★★★★
Review: Another good addition to the In Death series. Detective Eve Dallas is in pursuit of a pair of killers that have created a game of seducing young women via chat rooms and disguises to drugging and raping them to death. Along her discovery she enlists her friends help so we get bits of team Mavis' and classic Summerset banter. Also little gems of Roarke and Eve's relationship and Roarke's continued manipulation of Eve in his taking care of her. Some Peabody and McNab bonus material too. All is good in this book, on to the next...

Review Ok so if you haven't read Alpha & Omega or the first few of the Mercy Thompson books...stop and read them before opening Cry Wolf.
What can I say this like literally takes place after you close up Alpha and Omega, infact the novella should have been included in the book, because it's contents are very important for the reading of this book.
Anna is a Omega? A what? She doesn't know she doesn't really know much. It's a learning thing for her, as is over coming the abuse she had to face for the past 3 years. Hopefully her adventures out with Charles her mate, will give her some answers and help over come the fears she has. Also by adventures I mean the hunt for the rogue werewolf. If Bran is hoping to come out to the world about werewolves, having a rogue one killing people will not do well for them.
I really liked this book, and the characters of Anna and Charles. Not as strong as the Mercy books, to me any ways but it's just the beinning and I look forward to the rest of them.

Yeah, it's infuriating especially when I can't just say, "Screw it, I won't write a review!" b/c I need on..."
I know, sheesh!! ;P

That's a really smart idea!! Google docs saves every little change on it's own... I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for the tip.

100% agree that the novella should have been included!! I've seen so many people say how confused they were about Cry Wolf or how they had trouble connecting with the characters, and it's because they haven't read Alpha and Omega.

We now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'part of a series'.
[Our updated BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Woohoo!! :D

Definitely should push others to read the A&O prequel first. Thankfully I did, so I didn't have that problem, but I could see how it could be an issue.
For 'Demons' I'm going to read

Too many choices, but going with

Fated by Sarah Fine
Series: Servants of Fate #3
Shelf: Demons
Read: 5 Apr
Rating: ✮✮✮✮½
My Review:
Fated wraps up Fine's Servants of Fate trilogy and the overall plot. Additionally, each book focuses a bit more on a different couple: Marked Cacia Ferry + Eli Margolis; Claimed Galena Margolis + Declan Ferry; and Fated Aislin Ferry + Jason Moros.
Moros might have been born of darkness, but that didn't mean he shied away from the light.Moros has always been feared by her family members, but not Aislin; she's always found him intriguing. Similarly, she's always the first one he looks for in a room, one of the few who can surprise him. She and Moros are scheduled to stand in front of the Keepers of the Afterlife (Heaven and Hell) in three days and each are concerned about recent events and how they'll be received by the Keepers.
"Chaos is rising."It's a battle the likes of which no one has seen for over two thousand years - can they survive long enough to restore order and Fate itself? Read the trilogy and find out! 😁
Aislin and Moros caught my interest in the first book, so I was looking forward to hearing more of their story in the finale. Fine satisfied my need for this and a HEA all while keeping me on the edge of my seat until the end. Over the last five days, I've read these books back-to-back and thoroughly enjoyed each. I'll miss having these characters' stories to retreat into; I'd love it if Fine continued telling stories in this world!

Found the cover, but no word on finale: https://www.littlebrown.co.uk/books/d...

I'm sure I read it was the final, but just checked her website &
"Will there be more books in the Dark in You Series?
Yes, the fourth book—as yet untitled—will centre around Knox and Harper. The secondary characters will then get their own stories after that."
Glad to be wrong in this case!!!!!!

Yay! Glad she'll be writing more. Maybe she's changing the series name when stories shift to secondaries? Either way ... YAY :D

Book - Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole
Shelf - Demons
Pages - 369 pages
Date Read - April 7
Rating - 5 stars
Review - Dark Needs at Night's Edge is another book that I probably wouldn't have picked up for a while but did because I'm altering my reading habits. The summary made it feel like an aside to the overall world Kresley Cole has created. (I was so wrong, many previous characters made very big appearances.) Neomi turned out to be my absolutely favorite! Neomi is a prohibition era burlesque dancer turned ballerina who was stabbed to death by a spurned lover. Now she haunts her home with no one able to see her except for Conrad who is... crazy and bloodthirsty (literally and figuratively). I loved seeing all the Wroths present helping their brother.
This was my first 5 star read of the series and if I had to guess, the rest of the series will be as well now that I'm fully entrenched and in love with in the world the author has created.

Definitely should push others to read the A&O prequel first. Thankfully I did, so I didn't have that problem, but I could see how it could be an issue.

I love those lone shelvers! :P They're so helpful.
Glad you enjoyed the book too :D

That cover is beautiful! ...another series to add to the never ending list. I should finish her Phoenix Pack series first though.

I'm reading of her Phoenix Pack books now b/c of our chat about Dark in You yesterday. I needed a SW fix :D

Review: One of my favorite duo's. How do you not love this ones brain?
So we have Watson in London after being discharged from the war , with little to nothing to his name, in need of a place to stay. Meets from a friend Sherlock Holmes who is looking for someone to go in on some rooms. Perfect. Watson is taken by the mystery of Sherlock right away.
Speaking of mystery, this one was fantastic. Divided in two parts, one the mystery of the murder and it's solving. The second the story of the murder.
Wonderful as I imagined it would be, and yes I heard both in my head the whole time.

Title/Author: Blaze by Suzanne Wright
Series: Dark In You #2
Date Read: 4/10/2018
Shelf: Shelf 5 - Demons
Pages: 368
Rating: ★★★★★
Review: The is the second book in the Dark in You which series takes place in Vegas with Harper and Knox, which are now co-Primes of Knox's territory along with being each others anchor, mate, and completely committed to each other, ahhhh... Now Harper needs to get the rest of the Demons onboard with this mating as several of Knox's exes are just having a hard time accepting that he is off the market and that he chose a Wallis. She also has to deal with her own relationship issues and trusting that Knox is with her for the long haul and that she needs to compromise a little with his and his demon's possessiveness and need to take care of her. It also seems that the power hungry Demons that tried to take over are covertly back and calling themselves the Horseman, so investigation and dealing with a rogue takes up most of the smexy twosome's time and energy. This is one of my favorite series and some how, some way I've gotten a couple of books behind, so I will be quickly fixing that little problem.

Glad you liked Cat & Bones, Carrie! I gobbled those up as they were released - back ... *gasp* over ten years ago. 😳
She has had several same-world spin-offs: 2 books in "Night Huntress World"; 4 books in "Night Prince" (Vlad's series) and hopefully 4 books in "Night Rebel" (Ian's series) coming out Oct 2018. I recommend all of them, if you're a fan of the original.
For our newest shelf, I'll be reading:
