Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments I think it would be a good blank. Since we have B’a and T’s. Also, we can always switch it out later if needed.

message 52: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments @Sharon - do you want to read King's Cage (Red Queen, #3) by Victoria Aveyard with me? I noticed that you had it marked as want to read and I'm dying to know what happens with Mare and Cal. Pllleeeeease???

message 53: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments Sure! When do you want to read it?

message 54: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments anytime! but maybe soonish? I was planning on picking it up today at the library. You tell me. I'm motivated enough to slip it into my calendar anywhere.

message 55: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments Tomorrow?

message 56: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments YES!!! thank you, thank you, thank you! I hate waiting when I'm into a good storyline.

message 57: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments Can you request the thread? I am heading out for a bit.

message 58: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments already done!

message 59: by María (new)

María | 2037 comments I'm reading a short sory. It has a V. Can I use the V? Or you prefer that I use the blank?

message 60: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments @Maria, is it a buddy read? We need to try to maximize points, so if the page count is already low and it is not a buddy read, then Yes, I say Blank it!

message 61: by Jennifer (last edited Mar 03, 2018 10:48AM) (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments Alright girls, I just posted a couple of reviews, Yay!

These are the books I've got coming up:

King's Cage (Red Queen, #3) by Victoria Aveyard Ready Player One (Ready Player One, #1) by Ernest Cline The Girl With All the Gifts (The Girl With All the Gifts #1) by M.R. Carey Red Knight Falling (Harmony Black, #2) by Craig Schaefer Edinburgh Twilight (Ian Hamilton Mysteries #1) by Carole Lawrence What Lies Beneath (Enigma #1) by Ditter Kellen Pack Ebon Red (The Seven Mates of Zara Wolf, #1) by C.M. Stunich Scythe (Arc of a Scythe, #1) by Neal Shusterman

@Sharon, since you are reading King's Cage with me and we only need 1 K, one of us should put it under another edition. I suggest the P one. Likewise for the Girl with all the Gifts, one of us should put our review under the V edition. I think I have another G coming up in the middle of the month, but the V I have planned doesn't have any other editions, so we are stuck with it even though it is only 300+ pages. (We need 2 V's total) And for Ready Player One, one of us should put it under the B version. I have a J coming up next week with no other editions and it has a 400+ page count so it is decent, so let's not pick the Jugador version of that book. Sound good?

message 62: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments I'll put Scythe under the D version too, since it is 500+ pages and D's have more points than S's. We don't have many D's planned either.

Everything else, we are kind of stuck with the english versions.

message 63: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments I will put my BRs under different editions you can put them for K, G and etc. I’m fine with that.

message 64: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments Also, my sweet Series BR can work for the vowels so we got more vowels now.

message 65: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments Awesome sauce!

I've got to get off this computer and get back to reading. Later!

message 66: by Christine (new)

Christine | 902 comments Are the points for the letters when buddy read doubled?

message 67: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments No the page points are doubled, then the letter points are added to that total.

message 68: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments Thanks Maria and Christine for posting some reviews. Everyone is doing great!! Keep it up.

Hi guys, I don't know how many of you have been following the drama, but Wolf has left Team Spinach, which leaves them in a difficult position.

My solution to this problem is to split Team Spinach up, with Aly and Rebecca moving to Team Sausage, and Jamie and Meaghan moving to Team Soap.

I did have a look, and I can transfer people across with only having to change one review to a different letter. Each team is going to have to have a chat though, and rearrange letters etc. which might be a little annoying for you. I do think this is the best way forward though, and I also feel that this will make the three remaining teams more competative.

I will be sorting this out now, so here goes...

Jamie | 12271 comments *Shyly pokes head in* Hi everyone. I hope it is okay that we join you.

message 71: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments So I have a simple alternate letter spreadsheet that shows our books (I added all books done, feel free to add books you are reading, or plan to read soon). This is so when we need to move things around we can easily to fit all the books in.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Although I did wonder about using The Bookshop on the Corner - Joi reviewed as a blank.

If there are any strategies (or a different spreadsheet besides the progress thread) that you have, please let me know. I have 1 book to add but figured before I do I would check here.

I have several BRs planned this month, with the ones for this week on the spreadsheet above (as either reading or planned to read)

:)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Hi!! Second Spinach member checking in, so glad to join you guys!

message 73: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments @Meaghan I only kept the last sheet from our tracking since Soap already has a method started. Figured it might be easier for us to do it their way for now :)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Jamie wrote: "@Meaghan I only kept the last sheet from our tracking since Soap already has a method started. Figured it might be easier for us to do it their way for now :)"

Makes sense!! Lemme read everything in here to s4ee how they do things

message 75: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments Hi Meaghan and Jaime! Welcome!! I'm checking out the spreadsheet now.

message 76: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments I'm going to add in my planned BR's, now. I like the spreadsheet! It is so organized!

message 77: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Yay! Glad you like it!

message 78: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments Ok, I updated mine. I also added a column for BR's. I thought it would be helpful to know since we get double points for those. They should take priority over non-Br's, yes?

message 79: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments I am actually done with Scythe. I guess I need to know which letter to put it under. It has a 500 page edition, so that's decent. Should I put it under D to take advantage? Or should I put it under O since it looks like we are going to be tight on them and have plenty of D choices?

message 80: by Jamie (last edited Mar 07, 2018 02:32PM) (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Either is fineI think, but if you take O less likely we will have to move things around.

Jennifer, to add Zom-b Baby (which was a BR) I need to use Z. Can I move your glass sword to another letter (can also use T, G, L, E, S, C, R)

message 81: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Jennifer wrote: "Ok, I updated mine. I also added a column for BR's. I thought it would be helpful to know since we get double points for those. They should take priority over non-Br's, yes?"

They get double points for pages, but not the letter so it matters a bit less but it is a good idea to track to make sure they always have a spot :) I like it. Thanks!

message 82: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments move it to wherever you feel is best, I am really not picky. Perhaps we can ask to move Joi's review from Blank at the same time?

message 83: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments Hi Jamie and Meaghan. Glad to be on a team with both of you again!

message 84: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Jennifer wrote: "move it to wherever you feel is best, I am really not picky. Perhaps we can ask to move Joi's review from Blank at the same time?"

Sure. Will add and move in a few hours. Once I can get to my reg computer :)

message 85: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Alright, got mine up, changed letters to make it work, using the next highest value, also changed the black to a 3 pt letter. So that should be another 10 points in all there. :)

message 86: by María (new)

María | 2037 comments Hello Jamie and Meaghan! Happy to have you in our team :D
This are the book currently reading (all are BR) and Jamie can put them in her spreadsheet (or I can do it, maybe...)
Yuri (Bratva Blood Brothers, #1) by K.J. Dahlen So Mote it Be (Circle of Three, #1) by Isobel Bird Wonder by R.J. Palacio Sweet Evil (Sweet, #1) by Wendy Higgins

message 87: by Jamie (last edited Mar 07, 2018 05:27PM) (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments It should be open to everyone so we can add our books each :) But I will also try to make sure it is up to date periodically if needed

message 88: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments I will be done with a G and N tomorrow, they must go under those letters as there are no alternatives.

message 89: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10996 comments I should finish Sweet Reckoning today, and Sweet Temptation tomorrow. I have the next 4 days off from work, so that will get me back into reading.

message 90: by Christine (new)

Christine | 902 comments Hi Jamie and Meaghan! Glad for you guys to be on our team! :)

message 91: by Christine (new)

Christine | 902 comments Hey I had fun filling in the spreadsheet that you guys made hehe

message 92: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments I'm currently reading like, 4 books and its not working out haha. So I'm going to try and focus on one at a time to finish them. I need to read Dread Nation for school, so I'll add that to the spreadsheet and hopefully get that finished today!

message 93: by Christine (new)

Christine | 902 comments Yeah me too. I can't finish 2 books or more at a time. I don't know how they do it and I really wish I could too. xD

I've been doing 3 at a time for the past few weeks but it's just not working rn hahah. Need to start focusing on one at a time again apparently!

It is usually nicer to just focus on one! :D

message 97: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments I usually have 3 going at a time: 1 audiobook in the car (which I've finally figured out that 1.25 speed is the best and gets through just the tiniest bit faster), 1 book on my kindle via iPad (so I can read in the dark while my husband is sleeping), and one regular book that I carry around with me to my kid's activities (so I don't actually have to interact with any real people).

Ooo that sounds perfect!

message 99: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3530 comments It looks like we are going to need some I's and some N's, so keep your eyes open for books to fill those letters.

I know the Iron Gold BR started yesterday, and later in the month I have Ink Mage, in case anyone is interested in joining those. Christine has the Iron Trial and Ignite Me coming up too.

message 100: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments I usually have 3-4 books going at a time. An audiobook, a book on my kindle for at night, and 1-2 print books
