Oh dear, sorry to be a nuisance, but I have taken a spot on the new 2021 list, and have looked back to my list on 2020 and my name has disappeared from there. Is this right?
Pam wrote: "Emily - The 2021 G-L and M-Z sheets have the 2020 prompts."Well, well, well, Pam. We meet again in the first two columns of the M-Z sheet!
Whoops, thanks Pam. I'm going to update the prompts to link to the discussion threads, so it's definitely still a work in progress.
Jill, do you remember where your name was on the spreadsheet? I removed some of the people who hadn't updated in a long while (10 or less books posted) so if you hadn't updated, that could be why it disappeared. If you update your list frequently, there are few things I could try to find it.

Is there any thought to starting a new spreadsheet? Because it's such a massive sheet in terms of its history, basically, the history won't load without crashing your browser. I know we ran into that this year when some things got deleted and recovering through the history either didn't work or was really arduous.
I've deleted pages rather than just hiding them... does that help with the history? If we do need to start a new one, I'd probably just copy everything over on December 31, so we can start fresh with the new year. I don't mind doing it if you think it would help.

I had completed my list . It is the third column on the G-L section. The list is there just not my name.

Game on Steve! Being next to you helps keep me motivated to not fall behind!
Emily - Thanks for creating and maintaining these spreadsheets!

I don't know if it'll make a difference, though, in the end. We have soooo many people editing the sheet and making one edit here, one edit there, that the revision history of a new sheet will get large in a short span anyway!
Yea I've kind of given up on using history revisions, just because if you try to edit back even 15 minutes, it could throw off 10 different people who have edited in that time. But I may create a new spreadsheet at the end of the year just to clear out some of the backlog.
Jill, not sure what happened to your name, but I'm glad that your book list is still there! Another time when it's good to link your plan to your list, so we can check when things like that happen.

At the bottom (after the boxes that tally your books) you can copy and paste the link to your plan into that box.
Emily wrote: "At the bottom (after the boxes that tally your books) you can copy and paste the link to your plan into that box."Thanks! I haven’t started my plan on Goodreads yet, but I’ve got an Excel spreadsheet that’s got multiple options for each prompt, so I need to get that moved over to the planning threads so I’m ready to start January 1.
I've taken Steve's suggestion and updated to a new spreadsheet link for 2021! Feel free to bookmark the new link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
(I've also updated the link in the first post of this thread and in the group description, in case you access the spreadsheet that way.)

Harry wrote: "I had to re-add all the books I've read so far. Tab G-M, col AU. What's happening? using a PC."Hi Harry... When did you first put them in? I'm glancing at the history on random days this year so far and don't see a time in which you had books in your column before today.

I put 4 of them on the list shortly after Jan 1st.

Still don't see it in a glance at some random times in the first few days of the year. But, you were able to re-add it so that's good. Sometimes people accidentally delete or overwrite things when editing their own columns because they don't realize they're in the wrong column. No one ever does it with malicious intent; it's always good to keep your own lists/spreadsheets in case this happens so you can easily restore it.
I'm not great with formulas but I think the percentages aren't quite right on the Spring challenge. I've read 6/12 but it says 38%, not 50% and I'm not sure how to fix it.

But all that needs to happen is that someone needs to change the /16 on the first column to /12 and fill across.
Emily, that is unless there’s a reason some are 14 or 16 instead of 12...
Oh shoot, sorry guys. It’s probably because I copied the spreadsheet tab from the Winter Reading Challenge that had more tasks. I’ll fix it as soon as I get to my computer.

Does anyone have a spreadsheet version of the "well read in literature" list challenge? https://www.listchallenges.com/are-yo...I see there's a "print" feature that'll list them all to C&P into a spreadsheet, but curious if anyone has already made one in their own sheets that they'd be willing to share. The limitation on the print feature is that it'll only give the title, and sometimes randomly the author or another term in parenthesis.
Very confused about the spreadsheet! The latest newsletter says "The tab for 2022 planning on the 2021 Community Spreadsheet will close on December 10."So then what? Is there a new spreadsheet for 2022 or have you decided not to have spreadsheets any more? I've tried looking through the threads but can't find anything.
The 2022 Planning tab will close, and later in December, we will open the 2022 Completion tabs on that same spreadsheet. They will be the (A-F), (G-M), etc. tabs where you can track your reads as you finish them in 2022.
We just need to do some clean up on the spreadsheet every now and then, so we are closing the planning tab now that everyone has moved their plans to the Plans folder on Goodreads.
Hope that makes sense!

Emily wrote: "Yes, the tabs for 2022 are on the current spreadsheet!"Emily, I was not able to type my name in Col CI of the 2022 A-F spreadsheet. I added my name and books in Col CJ.

Edie, you were able to type there... It was justset up as a white box with white font so it was impossible to see. I've fixed it and copied all of your information over. In retrospect, I could have just deleted the original CI column...
By the way... Sarah A., in case you see this: when you added your column to the M-Z sheet in the last couple of days, you put yours as one of the first columns and bumped everyone over. I've moved your column to the end so it doesn't displace people who'd already had their column slot. If people keep adding columns to the left and not to the right, it'll throw people off in finding their own columns.
Steve, I had done that for Sarah A, as her column was originally in that spot and was deleted by someone accidentally.
Ah I see. I noticed mine got bumped one over and when I went through the history, that was the only one that wasn’t there for the last few days. So someone to the left of me wasn’t there when I first put myself in last month. Sorry for undoing what you’d done!

Thanks Steve... I tried a bunch of things but didn't think about the font color
Next year when I make the new tabs, I'll have to remember to change all the font colors to black lol. You're the second person who ran into this issue!
The 2021 tabs are hidden on the current spreadsheet. If you need to access them, you can click the stack of lines in the bottom left corner and open the tab you need to see.
Mods, can you reset the formatting for each new spreadsheet tab? So many folks like their specialized fonts and colors and this seems to transfer each time.
